I guess one of the big issues with me were that they pretty much spell everything out for you. There was no mystery or anything. Also the "updated" Special FX kind of bugged me because they would just throw them in there at times where they really weren't needed.
Also, for the record, INXS < "The Killing Moon"

Yeah, I suppose I agree with those points, but at the same time since I was already so familiar with the film by the time I saw the DC I guess none of those things really brought detriment to the film for me. It just gave me a longer runtime. It's like if Tarantino added 30 minutes to Reservoir Dogs, I'd just be psyched to see more of my favorite movie, even if those extra minutes took away from the fact that the initial film was perfect.
Although I do agree that if the DC of Donnie Darko had been the initial release of the film, I probably wouldn't like it as much as I do.

Eww, Director's Cut! I hated how they added the text of Roberta Sparrow's book to explain what was happening. What actually bugs me more is the way the music was changed around. I realize that it's actually the way Kelly envisioned it, but the music sequences were perfect in the original. If it weren't for the kickass extras, I would've sold my copy of the Director's Cut a long time ago.

I wish they came out the The original and the extras of the Directors cut. The only thing good about the Director's cut was Kevin Smith and Richard Kelly's commentary.
