There's a band in Iowa City called Death Ships that's pretty good. Better than Public Property, who get all the attention around here because they're a reggae band made up of white boys and girls.

Probably Montana's premier political rock band the Electric Six, from Detroit, their claim not ours.
Out of actual bands in Montana, 1090 Club. The rest are either Blood Brothers rip offs, "screamo", "nu metal" or bad attempts at grindcore. We have a really awful music scene.

I liked Expired Youth a lot before they broke up... their shows were always really fun. Sidewalk was cool back in the day too. Lawrence Arms are my favorite band to make it out of Chicago, if that counts, but they're too big to call local anymore.

www.myspace.com/coconutmusic all really good buddies of mine in the band. play a sick reggae/dub/punk style in the local area and often go down to london, toronto or windsor for shows. very much in the scene of ill scarlet and staylefish.

I know who the Death Ships are, soft/indie type band right? yeah like indie with a little country-ish feel. that's cool that they're known outside of Iowa.. unless you are in Iowa.
