i've been pretty outspoken in the past about how mediocre I felt "Begins" was, and how unenthused i was about "Dark Knight." the trailer didn't really dissuade me on the issue, but it certainly didn't hurt. the dialog was vintage Batman/Joker, and i like the look of Gotham a lot more than that of Begins.
Ledger seems to have immersed himself in the character. i've never had a problem with Ledger, i just deeply dislike Nolan's take on the character. Ledger would've been terrible as the more conventional iteration of the Joker, but he looks right at home here. it still pisses me off though. "all we found in his pockets were knives and lint"... why does the Joker have to be a self-mutilated guy who paints his face and cuts smiles onto people's faces with a knife? its just a dumb, unnecessary concept.
but i digress. cool trailer. too bad we didn't see any of Eckhart. the one thing i really am excited to see from this movie is that scene that was described in the Wizard World preview. "Dent, i thought you were dead?"... "Half."

In all fairness, when you think about it, the comic version of the Joker is pretty dumb. There's only been a few stories when he was actually a complex, psychotic killer than a doofy, one dimensional villain who fails miserably at whatever he does.

Thanks for posting, but I'm waiting until I see I Am Legend tomorrow before I check out the video. I'm damn near as excited for the Batman trailer as I am for I Am Legend. I just feel like watching it in crappy quality right now would sort of be spoiling it for me since I'll be seeing it in a theater in less than 24 hours.

This movie looks great and all that, I am still not 100% sold on Ledger based on photos and 45 seconds of him giggling. I think it will be the movie of the summer, but movie of the decade? Too much hype and hub bub makes me dislike things, I look forward to this movie but my underwear will remain dry.

The one thing I noticed most out of the trailer, The Joker seems like he needs a water or something. There's more than one shot of him trying to whet his whistle.

Things are looking good but I'm not really feeling the same excitement as everyone else. It should turn out to be a fine film, but necessarily the movie of the decade.
