It seems hundreds of WFers play the guitar, or atleast the claim they do... I've just bought a cheap ass guitar, just to see if I can learn before making any sort of serious investment. Anyone know any good websites to help learn how to play the guitar? I've got a few podcasts of iTunes but the more the better. And so it has a bit more of a point, what was the first full song you learned to play? P.S. Don't delete my topic for no reason like before.

I don't really know any video sites for guitar playing, but good tab sites are mxtabs (when it comes back up) and ultimateguitar. I just taught myself, and i'm a pretty good guitarist.
If you're struggling, a good piece of software is Guitar Pro, you can download guitar pro tabs and open them using GP. It's really useful for getting rhythm down for complicated songs. I'm not selling it that well, but it's a really helpful.
First song i thing i learnt was with Dammit by Blink 182 or Buck Rogers by Feeder.

Pretty much every Nirvana song is easy. If you want something more challenging try some Black Sabbath like Iron man or Paranoid.
Also Ultimate-Guitar.com has some video lessons on there. I havnt looked at them much but i think that some are for serious beginners like tab reading, hammer-ons and pull offs and things. Also a good website for tabs

alot of As I Lay Dying work is good and easy, if you're into to that kind of music.
Also, alot of metal songs are easier than they appear, or sound like.
i think the easiest song is, smoke on the water by deep purple.

Try to play smoke on the water first, and then Iron man, after that go for NIB.

If you're looking for a Guitar tabs site, ultimate-guitar[dot]com is a good one.
The first actual song I learned was "Brain Stew" from Green Day, not hard at all. Then I learned some Coheed and Cambria stuff and took off from there. I've sort of gone backwards when it comes to learning the "basics", if you will. As I've just recently learned "Paranoid" from Black Sabbath. (btw, if Paranoid isn't by Sabbath, don't flame me. When it comes to classic rock, I don't know all that much.)

www.fretplay.comThats what I mainly use, or I just search for tabs on google. First full songs I learned were Toxicity by System of a Down. Latest full songs I learned were Given Up by Linkin Park and What I've Done by Linkin Park. They are all basic, easy songs. I rarely learn full songs, as they bore me after awhile. I learn alot of song riffs/verses/chorus' like Enter Sandman, Nothing Else Matters, The Middle, etc. but rarely full songs. I frequently make up my own stuff, but it rarely sounds decent. I've made up one full song for lead/bass that sounds pretty cool and my band plays it frequently in front of friends and at parties.

The Intro of "In the Flesh" is pretty easy. And by pretty easy, it's pretty much the easiest you can get.

What kind of bands to you like? The Red Hot Chilli Peppers have a great list of songs that are not too hard to get you started.
