Well, after the tragedy today/last night, I can't help but wonder now, with this being Ledger's last film, will The Dark Knight now recieve more Box Office success?
BTW, im not selfish, Im not only interested in the release of TDK, I just wanted to bring this up.

It was already gonna make a crapload of cash, but I think now it will make even more.

Good point. I do think it will garner even MORE attention now from people that probably didn't even care to see it. Should be very interesting to see how this all plays out.

Kinda bugs me a little. All these people are going to suck this movie off, and there won't be any real critiques of Ledgers performance, which i was ungodly excited about.

It's going to be overrated due to the death. You just watch.

They finished filming, Ari, well, I know Ledger finished all of his scenes. Good thing he waited until finishing to go and die. "Heath Ledger's last film," that's so weird. Atleast he went out on the highest note possible.

There was very little hype before his death, maybe it would have made $50 mil tops, but NOW, look out highest grossing film of all time at 1,000,000,000,000,000,000 - Guaranteed

It's a Batman movie. It's probably the most hyped movie ever made. It'll definitley make more than Begins' $400 million worldwide gross.

It was already going to be a success. I agree. I also think Heath's Joker will gain cult status much like Brandon Lee's Draven did with The Crow, i know its not the same situation but i think when Brandon died everyone took notice of the film and his character Eric Draven has become more legendary than it might of, if he had been alive to see it's release and beyond. I believe the same will happen with Heath's Joker, people will hear the name Heath Ledger and immediately think Joker. His character was always going to have a massive cult following but now obviously more so. I think it's tragic when this sort of thing happens . R.I.P. Heath

I thought it was obvious by how preposterous it sounded and the unnecessary amount of zeros , but then again I don't know people.

Sorry, sarcasm's mighty hard to detect online. I wouldn't be surprised if it made $1,000,000,000,000,000,000.

Was it necessary to make this thread? Who cares how much the movie makes? Are you looking to invest in Warner Brothers? Maybe buy some extra WHY SO SERIOUS posters off ebay to hold onto until the movie comes out? The guy is dead. Box office returns don't matter now.

You're right, I have to buy a TDK poster before they jack up the price.

It was already going to be a success. Agreed. But it will probably get an extra boost of casual Heath fans to watch.

This movie was already going to be the most watched movie the summer. I don't think this changes much.

I really do hate that Heath Ledger dies and everyone immediately says "Oh no, The Dark Knight, blah blah blah."
I think that is kind of selfish to jump and say "now there can't be a third" and so on.
I probably wasn't going to see this movie, but I sure as hell hope it earns big bucks. I hope Heath even gets an award. I've seen him in movie clips and the trailers and he's impressed the hell out of me as the Joker.
