I dont count the animated as part of the Batman movie dynasty; since it was a cartoon, and not Live-Action. Also it was never in theaters. that also goes for Return of the Joker

Begins. It made Batman more real. I wrote it off for a while. Then I actually watched it and was amazed.

And why does it being animated have anything to do with it? Disney movies aren't considered real movies because it's not live action?

I'ts tough to choose, "Batman" 89 is what introduced me to the character but "Begins" is the best representation of Bats on film, so i'd say a tie, as far as Phantasm goes i agree its a great film and it far surpasses "Forever" and "Batman and Robin".

I liked Batman Begins. But I don't think it was the best. I think it was a step in the right direction to re-invent the franchise though. Personally, I really dig Batman Forever.

Batman Begins
I really liked Batman ('89) and the sequel Batman Returns. When you get to Batman Forever, it was OK for what it was but served as a turning point for the series. Val Kilmer has always been my favorite Batman but alot of the movie was a bit over the top and almost speciffically geared for kids. Which brings me to Batman & Robin. Um..I saw this in the theatres opening night at least expecting something close to Batman Forever but the movie felt so flat with it's script and bad acting. It's ashamed because I thought Clooney would've been a great replacement when Kilmer stepped down from the role. Obviously, Kilmer didn't like the way the series was going & Clooney should've thought twice about picking up a role that Kilmer turned down to reprise the Batman/Bruce Wayne role.
Then Batman Begins, I wasn't sucked into the movie initially...I thought it started slow and a little different from what I imagined it to be. As soon as the action hit, man, it was a great movie. I liked it so much I made it my first HD movie.

I loved Batman Forever. Still do. Just got the DVD for Christmas this year, but I've had the VHS since it came out.

not alot of people are aware of Batman: The Mask Of The Phantasm Which is a shame, really. Although I voted Begins as the best Batman movie quality-wise Phantasm still remains one of my favorite movies. I have such fond memories of watching it when it was released. I actually wore out my VHS of it.

Mine is Batman begins, with Batman 89' being in VERY CLOSE second. Then i'd have to say Returns, Forever, MOTP, and Batman & Robin. Batman & Robin freakin' blew. It was good when I was 5, but seriously...it's only because it was a live action cartoon.

The last one was easily the best. It felt like an actual movie, and not just a "superhero flick."
