WWF Judgment Day: In Your House Surprised to Furnas and Lafon go over in the opening match. I imagine they'll be getting the next shot at the tag team titles. Wouldn't have started with this match, however, not the most exciting start to the pay-per-view. Glad to see Pillman get the win over Sid, good call there. D-Lo retaining the Intercontinental Championship over Mero was a the right move. Would have been a good match as well. I liked Johnson purposely getting himself disqualified just so he could hurt Bulldog. I hope to see this continue with a No Disqualification match next month. Fantastic match between Hunter and Austin, easily the best match on the card. Pillman costing Austin the match? I'm glad this feud is continuing, Austin needs to get the big pay-per-view win over him. Now Shamrock's getting in a fight with Hunter, pretty damn eventful segment. Outlaws retaining the titles is fine, but I feel like their reign is coming to an end soon. Interesting developments in the Bret Hart situation, intrigued by Goldust attacking him. I can't imagine Goldust going over Bret Hart in 1997, though. Good match between Vader and Benoit, I suppose Vader picking up the win is fine, considering the fact that Benoit is injured. Wow, I kind of expected Cain to go over in the main event. Undertaker taking the strap with the Kliq getting involved is fine, however. I just hope Cain wins the title at some point. I'm looking forward to a possible Undertaker/Cain vs. Kliq match. Overall, it was a pretty good show.

WWF Judgment Day: In Your House: Sunday 14th September 1997...Alright, not a great opening contest to kick off the show, with the newcomers, Doug Furnas and Phillip LaFon picking up a big victory against Yokozuna and Fatu...I think Furnas and LaFon will need more to get themselves over as serious contenders to the WWF Tag Team Championships, though. I also think that perhaps Yokozuna is nearing the end of his career at this point. Brian Pillman with a win against Sycho Sid...like there was any doubt. Hmm, Ken Shamrock potentially coming in sounds great. Looking forward to what you may have in mind for him. D-Lo Brown retaining the WWF Intercontinental Championship against Marc Mero was expected, I am enjoying Brown's run so far as the champ. Mero in late 1997 is starting to become a very subpar worker, in my mind. The British Bulldog with a win against Ahmed Johnson was fine, but the disqualification was a strange finish. I guess that we are yet to see this feud climax. Hunter Hearst Helmsley with a win against Stone Cold Steve Austin was a nice twist as Pillman got himself involved. I assume that we will be seeing these two compete at October's In Your House, or possibly even the Survivor Series, if you're planning on dragging this feud out that far. Hmm, not sure how I feel about Hunter Hearst Helmsley being the first man to face Shamrock - I just don't think that it's a good match, personally. I hope Shamrock potatoes the f**k out of Hunter. The poor guys in the four-corner match for the WWF Tag Team Championships. I'd have personally put this on first, because I believe that all eight guys would have delivered a great crowdpleasing opening contest. Additionally, this is definitely more important than the other tag team match on this card - that deserved to be a filler, not this. The New Age Outlaws retaining the titles was fine, I'm glad to see the Hardy Boys seemingly get a defining moment in this match. Hahaha, oh dear. Bret Hart's number one fan is Goldust. Of all people. Amusing, but Hart is definitely beyond this. Oh well, I suppose it could evolve Goldust's character and establish him a bit better. But after that, I'm hoping to see Bret re-enter the WWF Championship hunt. I can't imagine Hart being too pleased with this angle, really. Vader and Chris Benoit was a bit too high on the card, I personally believe. A hot David vs Goliath-style match, and I'm hoping it's not their final encounter. A solid match, and the right man won, I thought. Glad to see Vader still acting as the heel in this diary. He's a monsterous one. And finally, a good win for the Undertaker, finally becoming WWF Champion. I wonder where Kane will go from here, though. I can't imagine that this was too good a match though, personally. Overall, a solid show, although the lack of the Kliq was quite surprising. I'm wondering where the diary will go from this point onwards. You have my immediate attention.

*WWF Officials were happy with the Judgment Day pay per view. It did a high buy rate and agents felt it was a strong event overall, even with the Kliq (three of the biggest stars in the company) not being directly involved in any matches. *Officials are high on Ken Shamrock and think he can be very successful, which in part is why he is being immediately put into a feud with Hunter Hearst-Helmsley. Officials hope Hunter can give Shamrock a bit of a rub, and feel Hunter will be looked at as a viable opponent after he was given an "edge" in his feud with Cactus Jack. *Speaking of rookies, there are many guys in the USWA that officials are high on. The list includes Andrew Martin, Sean Morely, Gangrel, and Justin Bradshaw. *Some within WWF were surprised to see Bret Hart placed in a fued with Goldust, but Goldust actually requested to work with Bret and Hart agreed. After Hart's feud with Vader was finished up and no room for him in the current WWF Title picture, officials thought this would be a good way to keep Bret involved in a major storyline while also building up Goldust. *Owen Hart has been unhappy with his role lately. It's rumored creative has been trying to come up with something for him, which may involve a feud with Sid if reading into the events of Raw and Superstars.

WWF RAW IS WAR Excited to see how everything plays out after the events of Judgment Day last night. Didn't expect Pillman being suspended to kick off the show. Liked the attack from Austin, can't wait to see these two finally in ring together again. I assume you're saving it for Survivor Series at this point. Sid with the win over Owen via DQ is fine, looks like the finish is going to set up a feud between the two. I hope Owen comes out the victor here. Hunter challenging Shamrock to a match is great, I'm interested in the feud between these two. Both men could use the victory, I hope we get a couple matches from them. Johnson with the obvious win over Jannetty here, standard squash match. Bulldog attacking him and igniting a brawl after the match was good. liking the aggressiveness from Bulldog. Waltman retaining his Light Heavyweight Championship over Hakushi is fine, I wonder if we'll see some more brought into the division soon, I feel like Waltman could use some new competition. Loved the Goldust promo, I'm excited for his feud with Bret Hart. I wonder what you'll be doing with Hart in the upcoming months after the Survivor Series, that'll be a cool scenario to see play out. Jeff Hardy with the win over Jesse James is alright, I guess the Hardys are due another shot at the tag team championships. Enjoyed the promo from Prime Time Enterprises, intrigued by how the Rock was basically disrespecting D-Lo the whole time. Possible face turn for D-Lo? Lastly, great main event with Austin and 'Taker (so weird to see them teaming for me now) going up against the Kliq. Chaotic finish with both Kane and Shawn Michaels getting involved - now I'm curious to see if we'll be getting a six man tag match with all of these guys, Undertaker defending his title against one of the Kliq members, or an Austin/Taker match. The WWF title scene is heating up right now, good show.

(Graphics by Spear Guy)September 22, 1997 Commentators: Jim Ross and Dok HendrixMatt Hardy defeated Billy GunnLike last week, the Outlaws looked to steal a victory here when Jesse James came down to ringside to distract the referee, allowing Gunn to grab his tag team title belt from the time keeper’s table. Gunn attempted to hit Hardy with the belt, but Hardy ducked and then grabbed the belt himself and hit Gunn in the head with it! Hardy disposed of the belt to the outside and James looked on furious as Matt picked up the three count. Matt’s brother Jeff came out to celebrate with him as the Outlaws retreated up the aisle. The Hardy’s are now 2-0 against the tag champs in singles competition. (78%) Matt Hardy gained overnessThe MastodonWe got the interview area with Todd Pettengill.Todd: I’m here with the man they call Vader, who is coming off an impressive victory over Chris Benoit at Judgment Day. Vader: Not only did I beat Chris Benoit, but I put him out on the shelf! Chris Benoit hasn’t been seen around here since Judgment Day. I didn’t just hurt Benoit’s body, but I hurt his pride. He was no match for the Mastodon, and he hasn’t had the guts to show his face since. It just goes to show you that I am what I say I am, and that is the man around here! It’s Vader Ti… Suddenly from behind Vader is attacked by Chris Benoit! Benoit gets Vader on the ground and cinches in the Crossface. Officials rush to the scene and are finally able to pry Benoit off of Vader. Benoit is ushered away as Vader tries to recover.(76%)D’Lo Brown defeated “Wildman” Marc Mero w/SableThis was a Judgment Day rematch and was as competitive as it was at the pay-per-view. At the match’s peak D’Lo connected with the Sky High and looked to have the match in control when Mark Henry and The Rock came down to ringside. D’Lo seemed puzzled by their presence and questioned what they were doing. As the referee was caught up with D’Lo and Henry’s conversation, The Rock snuck into the ring and planted Mero with a Rock Bottom before quickly exiting. The Rock got D’Lo’s attention and told him to cover Mero. It didn’t spear that D’Lo saw Rock’s interference, but covered Mero anyway and got the three. Henry and Rock happily went back up the aisle as D’Lo collected his IC title, but he could be heard telling his Prime Time Enterprises cohorts “I had that, man. I had that. I didn’t need your help.” But Rock and Henry seemed content to still have the IC title in their stable. (81%)Message ReceivedWe go to the interview area.Todd: I’m here with Bret “Hitman” Hart, and Bret I have to ask you, what do you make of what has happened the last few weeks as it pertains to Goldust? Bret: You know, I don’t know what is going on in Goldust’s head, and quite frankly, I don’t want to know. But the fact of the matter is that if Goldust was trying to send a message, well then message received. You have my attention, Goldust. And maybe that’s just it. Maybe attention is all you really wanted. But I’ve got news for you, Goldust. You’re not gonna get the attention you want at my expense. It’s one thing to play mind games and attack a guy from behind, but if and when we meet eye to eye in the middle of the ring, well that’s where all the games stop. And no amount of mind games and no amount of attention will keep you from being excellently executed by the Hitman. I am the best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be, and if you want Goldust, you can find that out for yourself firsthand. (88%)British Bulldog vs Ahmed Johnson was a No ContestBulldog was awaiting Ahmed’s entrance for their match, but it seemed to be taking Ahmed a while to make his way down to the ring. Suddenly, Ahmed appeared from out of the crowd wearing street clothes and carrying a lead pipe! Ahmed slid in the ring and hit Bulldog in the back with the pipe. Ahmed continued his assault with the pipe, concentrating on Bulldog’s ribs and back. With Davey incapacitated, Ahmed finished him off with a Pearl River Plunge! Ahmed stood over Bulldog with a smirk on his face as this match never even officially got started. (78%)ConfrontationWe go to the locker room area and see Steve Austin wrapping his wrists and getting ready for his match tonight when in walks the Undertaker.Austin: Are we gonna have a problem? Taker: Just remember that tonight is not just about you. We will bury the Kliq together. Austin and Taker have a brief stare down, and Austin’s gaze sets on the WWF Title over Undertaker’s shoulder for a moment before walking off.(87%)Sycho Sid w/Marlena defeated Henry GodwinnSid made short work of the hog farmer from Arkansas, finishing him off with an impressive powerbomb for the win. As Sid was awarded the match, Owen Hart rushed the ring and hit Sid with a spin wheel kick to the head and then quickly left the ring again. Owen back tracked up the aisle telling the camera that two weeks in a row he has gotten the best of Sid. (73%) Shamrock is ComingJim Ross is in the ring and asks the crowd to welcome his guest at this time, Ken Shamrock! Shamrock is escorted to the ring by a few members of his entourage and is welcomed nicely by the arena crowd.Ross: On behalf of the WWF I’d like to welcome you, Mr. Shamrock, to Monday Night Raw. And though we all know what you’ve done and what you can do inside the octagon of the UFC, I think the question on everyone’s mind is will we be seeing you in a WWF ring sometime soon? Shamrock: Thank you JR. I’m excited to be here tonight on Monday Night Raw and in front of all these fans. As far as your question goes, I can tell you that I am definitely looking forward to the opportunity to step inside the squared circle. The paperwork is still being worked out and there is still some red tape to cut through, but I hope to be back here on Monday Night Raw and back in this ring very soon. Ross looks to be wrapping up the interview when Hunter Hearst-Helmsley makes his way down the aisle and gets into the ring. Ross looks a bit nervous and Shamrock’s entourage start to get in between him and Hunter, but Shamrock backs them off.HHH: Paperwork and red tape? Is that it? Is that what the self proclaimed Most Dangerous Man in the World is gonna hide behind in order to not have to get in the ring? You see Ken, this is my world. This isn’t the UFC, this is the WWF. And no matter what kind of nicknames you come up with for yourself or how many hype videos we see, the only way you prove yourself is inside here. And inside here, no one does it better than me! So I’ve got a little advice for you. Until you grow some balls, don’t come back! Hunter drops the mic and shoves Shamrock in the face, just as he did at Judgment Day! Shamrock goes crazy and tries to come after Hunter, but his entourage members hold him back as Helmsley bails out of the ring. Shamrock has fire in his eyes as he is restrained while Hunter backs up the aisle with a smirk on his face.(90%)A Hit on the HitmanWe cut to the backstage area and see officials and medics surrounding Bret Hart, who is on the ground and in obvious pain. He appears to have gold paint marks on his clothes and it seems obvious that this backstage attack was the work of Goldust. (88%)Steve Austin, The Undertaker, and Kane defeated The KliqThis was one of the most star studded main events in Raw history, and it soon exploded. Kane seemed fixed on getting his hands on Michaels after the events of Judgment Day, and Michaels seemed fixed on avoiding that. As the match broke down, Kane cornered HBK on the outside and ended up chasing him all the way up the aisle and back through the curtain, leaving Taker and Austin against Hall and Nash. With Austin an Nash the legal men, Austin was poised to deliver a Stunner. Hall tried to ambush Austin from behind, but Taker grabbed Hall’s foot and pulled him to the outside before knocking him down with an uppercut. This allowed Austin free run to kick Nash in the gut and connect with the Stunner on Nash to pick up the win for his team. (92%)A Cold Day in HellAs Austin posed on the turnbuckle in the ring and Undertaker collected his WWF title, WWF President Vince McMahon appeared at the top of the ramp with a microphone.Vince: If I can have your attention, please. On Sunday, October 19 the WWF will present its next In Your House pay per view event. And at that event, I am pleased to announce that in the main event the Undertaker will defend the WWF Championship against the number one contender….Stone Cold Steve Austin! (79%)

WWF RAW is WAR: Monday 15th September 1997...Awh, Brian Pillman has been suspended by WWF President Vince McMahon. Heh, I suppose that this is your idea of drawing out the rivalry between Stone Cold Steve Austin and Pillman. I expect a climax to happen at the Survivor Series, I suppose. I think that it's inevitable that Austin will win the rivalry, personally. Unless you plan on going in a different direction...but I do see Austin being WWF Champion soon, so we'll just have to wait and see. A decent opening contest with Sycho Sid defeating Owen Hart, but not without controversy. It kept Owen strong, but personally I have little excitement for this feud, should you be going down this route. Hunter Hearst Helmsley making a start on "The Game" character? Hmm, I'm intrigued with that. Further hard words for Ken Shamrock, you can imagine that Shamrock will be debuting soon and will break Hunter's ankle. Ahmed Johnson defeating Marty Jannetty was obvious, as we are setting up for further feuding with the British Bulldog, which currently, I'm enjoying. Ha, Hakushi is still under employment. Sean Waltman with the win was good, a fine WWF Light Heavyweight Championship defense - I wonder if you have any longterm plans for Waltman to rise up the roster or not. Who could uncrown Waltman? Goldust talking about Bret Hart was nice and bizarre, as expected. Not a bad segment. Up next, Jeff Hardy beating Jesse James was a nice surprise, of course the upset victory angle was used, here. I wonder where this could be going. Up next, a good promo from the Prime Time Enterprises; I hope you make D-Lo Brown a serious uppercarder, rather than letting him fall off the face of the planet, much like WWF did. There wasn't too much direction for their promo in terms of longevity, and what the Rock and D-Lo could do next, but only time will tell where they are headed. The Undertaker and Stone Cold Steve Austin defeating Scott Hall and Kevin Nash was a big main event, although personally, I'd like to see a little bit of relaxation from seeing Kliq members in the main event of RAW is WAR. A big main event nonetheless, and the aftermath could set up for the 'Taker's next WWF Championship defense perhaps. Overall, a big edition of RAW coming out of Judgment Day: In Your House.
WWF Superstars: Sunday 21st September 1997...Rey Mysterio Jr with a win against Sho Funaki was fine...have you brought in TAKA Michinoku? I'd like to see him more prominantly featured. The same for Funaki and some of the other underutilized WWF light heavyweights. The British Bulldog challenging Ahmed Johnson to a match on RAW is good, but I hope that this isn't their final encounter - hoping they finish their feud on pay-per-view, perhaps. Christian Cage and Adam Copeland beating PG-13 is fine, as JC Ice and Wolfie D aren't doing anything at the moment. The Rock defeating Duke Droese was fine, too. Billy Gunn and Matt Hardy going at it on RAW is WAR this week sounds fine, I predict Matt will either pull off the Jeff Hardy upset spot, or Gunn will even the score, either way leading to a tag team match at the next In Your House event next month. Albert with a win against Aldo Montoya is fine, I forgot all about Albert. Ted Dibiase is still on the roster? Hmm, tired act, me thinks. Ken Shamrock at RAW this Monday sounds big, I'm expecting some big feud progression. And finally, Owen Hart defeating Billy Kidman is fine, I liked Sycho Sid running Owen away, but it's going to take a lot more to make me interested in this feud, in my honest opinion. Overall, quite a decent week of WWF television, everything served its purpose.

Typically when challengers beat champions singles matches the champions will retain the titles in the eventual tag team title match. I like the idea of a feud between Benoit and Vader. The promo didn't seem like what Vader would sound like. But, that type of stuff could be hard to write, I guess. Yeah, Brown is probably going to turn babyface with Rock and Henry not believing in him. Interested to see where Goldust/Hart goes. I liked the segment between HHH and Shamrock. Hunter is such a douche. A huge main event to close out a rather solid edition of RAW. Keep the great work, man. This is a gem of a diary.

I recall scanning through this diary once or twice before, and I do admire its longevity. Suppose now isn't a bad time to thoroughly get into it. Kicking off RAW is WAR with an upset victory was a bit surprising. I like that both Matt and Jeff Hardy have scored upset victories over Billy Gunn and Jesse James. Certain that the New Age Outlaws will retain once the actual title bout arrives. Chris Benoit attacking Vader backstage was nice, glad this feud isn't over following their encounter at Judgment Day. D'Lo Brown defeating Marc Mero was the right way to go, seeing as how he is the Intercontinental Champion and all. Tension between him, and Rock and Mark Henry, I see. The backstage interview with Bret Hart wasn't a bad way to continue to build the feud between him and Goldust. As strange as that feud may appear to me, I quite like it at the same time. Quite a brutal assault from Ahmed Johnson onto the British Bulldog. Anticipating revenge on the part of Davey. Sycho Sid with a victory over Henry Godwinn was expected, but I did enjoy Owen Hart's attacking following the match. Hunter Hearst Helmsley interrupting Ken Shamrock's interview was nice to see. Hunter is most certainly going to get his ass kicked once the two finally have a match. Lastly, a great six man tag bout to close things. The face team (or tweener) with the victory was great, as was the announcement that the Undertaker's next title defense will be against Steve Austin. A good show overall.

Their running down of the competition was halted by Cage and Copeland, who apparently took offense to the remarks, hit the ring, and ran Furnas and LaFon off. WWF RAW is WAR: Monday 22nd September 1997...Madison Square Garden! Let's see if we have ourselves a classic moment tonight. A decent opening contest, with a match actually kicking off the show for a change, as Matt Hardy got a surprise victory against Billy Gunn of the New Age Outlaws. I can tell that the Hardy Boys will challenge the Outlaws for the WWF Tag Team Championships at the next In Your House event, but I can't tell if you plan on having the titles change hands. With so much momentum behind the Hardys, I can only see the Outlaws getting payback and retaining the titles. Vader with an interview was neat, but I liked that Chris Benoit then jumped Vader, prompting and setting up an eventual rematch, that I could see Benoit winning, and gaining alot from. Up next, I'm not sure why you decided to have Marc Mero get a rematch against the WWF Intercontinental Champion D-Lo Brown, just to have him lose, as it hurt Mero, I think. Also, a non-title match? Oh well. You'll need to do some damage control on Mero if you want him to look credible again, me thinks. Although, I could see Mero moving on to facing The Rock, considering the finish. Bret Hart's comments on Goldust was nice, and this is definitely going to be leading into In Your House in October. I can't see Goldust winning, but it's a nice angle for Goldust to do anyway. Hart hopefully moves back up the card following this storyline. Also, strange that Hart hasn't been in action in a while, and that this feud with Goldust has relied completely on angles instead. The British Bulldog and Ahmed Johnson is getting worn out on free television encounters, but I liked the no contest finish with the bout never starting. A rematch is ahead on the horizon. Interesting conversation between the Undertaker and Stone Cold Steve Austin, talking about their egos and how they want to take down the Kliq and bury them. I'm sure Shawn Michaels and Kevin Nash have the same intentions in mind. Sycho Sid defeating Henry O. Godwinn is fine. Where has Phineas I. Godwinn gone? I'd like to see something become of the Godwinns, personally. More on Ken Shamrock with Jim Ross' interview, this is a good, angle-fuelled show. Hunter Hearst Helmsley getting into Shamrock's face again is cool, as Shamrock will have revenge in mind come In Your House, where we will see Shamrock make his debut, I anticipate. Hah, Bret Hart got attacked by Goldust! I'm still intrigued by him not appearing in the arena, however. Stone Cold, the Undertaker and Kane defeating the Kliq made for a massive main event for RAW is WAR, as the Monday Night Wars resume. A good main event for an MSG show, as well. However, I'm hoping to see Shawn Michaels, Kevin Nash and Scott Hall actually have something to do for October's In Your House show; and actually start winning some matches for themselves, rather than losing tag matches in the main event on a weekly basis. And finally, we have the Undertaker going up against Stone Cold? Very interesting for an In Your House pay-per-view, as I expected this quality a match to go on at Survivor Series, or a Big Four event. Nonetheless, A Cold Day in Hell sounds like an ideal pay-per-view name for In Your House, and it should be a good one, as the WWF Championship match has had some tease for the past two months. I see Brian Pillman costing Austin the title though. A solid show. Wow, WCW Monday Nitro still managed to beat RAW, I am surprised. Who do they have on their roster!?
WWF Superstars: Sunday 28th September 1997...TAKA Michinoku defeating Sho Funaki is a nice opening contest, although I'd like something to become of Funaki eventually, as he's been losing to every light heavyweight in the division lately, it seems. Chris Benoit continuing his eventful week with a promo on Vader is cool. Is Benoit injured or something? Hmm. We could be seeing their rematch at the Survivor Series instead, perhaps. The Headbangers getting a win was cool, I like that they are still being regarded as a midcard tag team in the seemingly packed division. A feud with the Headbangers & Adam Copeland and Christian Cage could be cool. Fatu defeating Kama was cool, an enjoyable win for Fatu. I'd like a little solo run for Fatu soon. Douglas Furnas and Phillipe LaFon, I forgot all about them after Judgment Day: In Your House. Copeland and Cage in LaFon and Furnas' second feud is cool, but I can see the French-Canadians getting another victory. It seems clear that you are building them towards the WWF Tag Team Championships, perhaps. Hmm, whilst I like a good battle royal every now and again, it'd be nice to see a WWF Intercontinental Championship feud with D-Lo Brown have a challenger that actually has beef with Brown and Prime Time Enterprises, rather than feuds with Brown because he's a champion and they won an opportunity to face the IC champion. Owen Hart defeating Chris Candido was cool, sounds like a solid match, really. Yokozuna defeating Mabel on the other hand, blech! Haha, I think Owen and Candido should have main evented, but Yokozuna beating Mabel makes sense, nonetheless. One thing I've noticed is that Fatu and Yokozuna have been in unlinked matches, perhaps a breakup is occurring? I think that Yokozuna is in his last days in the WWF at this point, anyhow. Overall, a decent show, and a good week of WWF television.

WWF RAW is WAR Matt Hardy with the win over Billy Gunn to kick off the show is fine, the Hardys must be in line for a tag title shot now. I doubt they’ll be taking the straps anyway. Benoit attacking Vader from behind during the interview was fine, it was a good way to continue the feud without any in-ring action. Hmm, I’m liking what’s going on between D-Lo and the Prime Time Enterprise. It’s nice to see D-Lo retain the Intercontinental Championship, I’m excited for a possible match between him and the Rock on pay-per-view after he splits off. It’ll be interesting to see Brown on his off so early as opposed to real life too. The interview from Bret Hart was good, nothing spectacular but it got it’s point across. Looking forward to his upcoming match with Goldust, whenever that may be. Johnson attacking Bulldog from behind was alright, it sets up a rematch for In Your House anyway. Interesting confrontation between the Undertaker and Steve Austin, I can see something going down between the two of them in the main event tonight. Sid with the win over the Godwinn and the attack from Owen Hart were both fine, but I feel like we’ve had a lot of attacks from behind tonight. Where is the damn security? Loved the segment between Hunter and Shamrock, their feud has been shaping up nicely thus far. I hope you hold off on the match until Survivor Series, but I assume that’s what you’re going for anyway. Another attack, this time from Goldust to Bret Hart, I feel like you are capable of doing more than just using attacks from behind to advance every feud. Lastly, a huge main event with Austin teaming up with Undertaker and Kane to defeat the Kliq. I’m glad to see Austin got the pin. Quite excited for Undertaker vs. Austin at In Your House, but I imagine Brian PIllman will show his hand here. Overall, another solid show here with good build towards In Your House, even if a lot of it was sneak attacks.

It is honestly amazing that this is still going, I remember parts of it from like 2008. Anyway, the Raw logo is great, looks hardcore. Matt Hardy winning was good, I like that it helps put the Hardys in contention. Vader/Benoit is a feud I would've loved so I'm glad you're doing it. I hope to see big things from both. D-Lo not wanting help could possibly lead to a face turn which would be good for him. Strong, realistic promo from Bret. You captured him well there. Bulldog/Ahmed is a good rivalry. Austin/Taker tease? I like. Sid/Owen is also an intriguing and original feud. The stuff between Shamrock and HHH was great, I could them having an intense back and forth. That is honestly one of the bigger six man tags I've ever seen. Austin getting the win was huge and I love that you're sticking with a Cold Day in Hell as it was one of my favorite PPV names. Anyway, Taker/Austin should be awesome and I will be following this more closely.

(Graphic by Spear Guy)September 29, 1997 Commentators: Jim Ross and Dok HendrixProject Omega defeated New Age Outlaws and Douglas Furnas and Phillipe LaFon by DQCage and Copeland joined their allies the Hardy’s for the 8-man tag match. As they most times do, the match soon broke down with Cage and Copeland pairing off with LaFon and Furnas as the Hardy’s battled the Outlaws. As Cage and Copeland brawled with their enemies in the aisle, it appeared that the Hardy’s had the match in hand after a Twist of Fate/Swanton combo onto James. As Jeff went for the cover, however, Gunn came into the ring with the tag team title belt and hit Jeff in the back with it, disrupting the pin attempt and causing the DQ. Gunn then blasted Matt in the face with the belt as James gave Jeff a pump handle slam for good measure. The Outlaws had lost the match but stood over the fallen Hardy’s with their tag titles raised. (79%)Who Is the Baddest Dog in the Yard?We go to the interview area with Todd Pettengill.Todd: I’m here with Ahmed Johnson, and Ahmed I have to ask you for your thoughts about last week when you snuck down to the ring and viciously attacked the British Bulldog with a lead pipe. Ahmed: You know, Davey Boy likes to call himself the Bulldog. Well what he saw last week was the kind of dog in me! And it wasn’t a bulldog, it was a raging pit bull. That’s the kind of dog I am. And it doesn’t matter what nickname Davey Boy wants to give himself, he doesn’t have that kind of dog in him. And that’s why he was left laying in the ring last week. So let me give Davey Boy a little advice. Davey, I know you’re at home, licking your wounds. So my advice is to stay there. Stay at home, Davey, and stay out of my way. There’s only room for one big dog in this yard, and you’re looking at the biggest dog of them all- Ahmed Johnson! (86%)Laid OutWe cut to the backstage area and see Duke Droese wandering the hallway. The announcers inform us that Droese is scheduled to compete in the Intercontinental Title shot battle royal tonight when suddenly he is ambushed by Mark Henry! Henry hits him with hard right hands before running him into the concrete wall. Henry continues to lay the boots to him until officials hit the scene and run Henry off. Officials tend to Droese as the announcers openly speculate if Droese will even be able to compete tonight after that attack. What could be the reason for this? (63%) Mark Henry lost overness from this segmentSean Waltman defeated Chris Candido Great action on display between Candido and the reigning Lightweight champion. Candido put on a solid effort and almost pulled off an upset of the champion multiple times, but in the end Waltman caught him with a stiff roundhouse kick to the face before connecting with a face buster to pick up the win. After the match, Waltman asked for a mic. Waltman: What I need right now is for everyone is this arena to get on their feet and pay respect to the greatest Lightweight champion of all time- me! I’ve held this title for six months and no one has come close to taking it from me. And by the looks of things tonight, I don’t think that’s gonna change any time soon. Keep lining them up and I’ll keep knocking them down! (88%)The Bizarre OneWe now go to the dressing room of Goldust, sitting in front of his powder mirror.Goldust: “Tell me, have you ever danced with the devil in the pale moon light?” Jack Nicholson, Batman, 1989. One of my favorite movies of all time. A movie based on two freaks. One in a mask dressed like a bat, the other a mad genius in face paint. And yet, one if viewed as a villain while the other is a hero. And so it is today in the WWF. The face painted villain and the conquering hero. You see, Bret, we’re a modern day Batman and Joker. But what I’ve always wondered is why the Joker is always the villain and Batman the hero. They both cover their faces. They both live in the shadows. Both have deeply troubled pasts. And yet one is reviled and the other revered. And so it is when the fans of the WWF will reject a star who paints his face gold, but cheers a man who covers his face with glasses and wrestles in pink tights. But they will learn the error of their ways. And Hitman, you will dance with this devil! And in the words of Jack Nicholson- what until they get a load of me….(deep breath)…… (77%)Big Red ObstacleThe music of Shawn Michaels hits the arena and the Heartbreak Kid makes his way to the ring and grabs a mic.HBK: Vince McMahon! I’ll make this short and sweet so you can understand. For over a month you have been dodging me and the elephant in the room that is the fact that I am still owed a rematch for the WWF Championship. It took two men to beat me, I never should have lost the title in the first place, and I am tired of waiting. I want a match for the WWF Championship and you’re going to give it to me! And if I have to sit out here all night until I get it, that’s exactly what I’ll do! Michaels grabs a chair from ringside and sets it up in the middle of the ring and takes a seat, awaiting an answer from McMahon. HBK: I’ve got all night, Vince! After a few more moments, the WWF President makes his way out to the stage with a mic of his own.Vince: Mr. Michaels, it’s obvious that you’re upset, and I understand your frustrations. However, frustration doesn’t change facts. The fact is that you lost the WWF Championship at SummerSlam. The fact is that the Undertaker is now the WWF Champion, not you. And in a few weeks at In Your House: Cold Day in Hell, the Undertaker will defend the WWF Title against Steve Austin, not Shawn Michaels. But I will tell you what I will do, Shawn. I will give you an opportunity to earn a WWF Championship match. At Cold Day in Hell, I’m going to give you a match in which, if you win, you will get the shot at the WWF Championship that you want so badly. At Cold Day In Hell, you will go one on one with this man. Good luck. Vince heads backstage as Shawn stands in the ring with a confused look on his face. Suddenly fire erupts from the stage and the ring posts and out comes Kane! Kane lumbers down towards the ring but Michaels bails quickly and heads out through the crowd in order to get away from the Big Red Monster. Kane has been trying to get his hands on HBK for weeks and now it looks like he will get his chance. It looks to be official that at In Your House, Shawn Michaels will go one on one with Kane for a shot at the WWF Title. (82%)The Rock won a 10-man Battle Royal for a shot at the Intercontinental TitleThe participants for this battle royal included Albert, Marc Mero, Marty Jannetty, Sycho Sid, Owen Hart, Henry Godwinn, Jeff Jarrett, Fatu, Yokozuna, and replacing Duke Droese was….The Rock! Somewhat of a surprise entrant there! A few high points in the match included the entire battle royal joining up to help eliminate the massive Yokozuna and Sid eliminating his nemesis Owen Hart. However, as the match went on, Owen Hart snuck back down to the ring and threw Sid out over the top from behind before sneaking away. The officials did not see Owen Hart, but saw Sid on the floor and upheld his elimination, much to Sid’s infuriation. As the combatants dwindled down it was The Rock and Marc Mero left as the final two. Mero seemed to have the momentum when Mark Henry made his way down to the ring. The Rock reversed an irish whip from Mero and sent Mero to the ropes where Henry pulled down the top rope and sent Mero flying to the outside, eliminating him! The Rock wins the battle royal and will get a shot at the Intercontinental championship, the title held by his own stable mate D’Lo Brown. This situation is a bit puzzling. (68%)The GameWe go to the interview area.Todd: I am here with Hunter Hearst-Helmsley, who last week continued his war of words with Ken Shamrock after Shamrock was an invited guest to Raw by the WWF. Hunter, do you care to comment on your actions last week? HHH: My comments are the same as they have been since Judgment Day. Ken Shamrock is nothing more than a lot of hype. This isn’t the UFC, this is the WWF. And in the WWF, Shamrock isn’t the alpha male, it’s me. And if Shamrock is looking to make a name for himself, all he has to do is show some guts and sign on the dotted line. Sign a contract. Step into the ring with Triple H. But what does Shamrock do? He shows up with a crew of body guards and makes excuses. It looks to me like he’s a lot better at ducking and dodging rather than actually fighting. So Shamrock, my advice to you is to either piss or get off the pot! Be a man and step into the ring with me or take your ball and go home. The choice is yours, but I’ve got a feeling I already know what his choice will be. Ken Shamrock doesn’t want Hunter Hearst-Helmsley. And frankly, I don’t blame him. (86%)Bret Hart defeated Brian Christopher The young Christopher was game, but soon fell victim to the Excellence of Execution, who put the rookie away with the Sharpshooter. As Hart celebrated his win on the turnbuckle, Goldust appeared and delivered a low blow to Bret. With Hart incapacitated, Goldust began to beat down the Hitman and planted him with the Curtain Call. Goldust stood over Hart and retrieved what looked to be a playing card from his waistband and and flicked it onto the Hitman’s chest. The camera caught a shot of the card and revealed it to be a Joker card, an apparent reference to Goldust’s bizarre words towards Hart earlier in the night. (82%)Challenge MadeWe go to the arena for more in ring action as Vader makes his way down the aisle for the next match. As he’s making his way to the ring, he is suddenly attacked from behind with a chair by Chris Benoit! Benoit cracks Vader in the back with the chair a couple of times before a hoard of officials rush to the scene and separate he and Vader. Benoit is trying to fight through the officials to get back at Vader as Vader staggers to his feet, and now Vader is trying to get at Benoit as well! The officials get Benoit backed up towards the entrance ramp where Benoit finds a mic and is screaming at Vader over the top of the officials. Benoit: Vader! I want you, Vader! Me and you at In Your House! Benoit throws the mic to the ground and tries to get at the Mastodon again but is held back and eventually taken to the back by the group of officials. A very chaotic scene here as we try to get some order back. (74%)Steve Austin defeated Scott Hall A solid and competitive main event for the night. The match went back and forth until Austin appeared to finally turn the tide in his direction. With the momentum on his side, Kevin Nash made his way out to the ring. He was then soon followed by the Undertaker! As Austin looked to be poised to win the match, Nash tried to enter the ring for a sneak attack, but Undertaker cut him off and pulled him back to the outside, drilling him with a right hand and brawling with him around ringside. Inside the ring, Austin ducked a wild right hand from Hall before connecting with a kick to the gut and hitting the Stunner for the win. As Austin’s hand was raised and Hall and Nash both unhappy on the outside, the Kliq seemed to think about continuing the action, but thought better of it when Undertaker stood next to Austin in the ring. Austin and Taker stared the Kliq members down from the ring, but then suddenly the Undertaker chokeslammed Austin! The crowd didn’t know exactly what to make of this as the WWF Champion stood over Austin’s body and rolled his eyes back in his head as Raw came to a close. (90%)

WWF RAW is WAR: Monday 29th September 1997...Adam Copeland and Christian Cage (I can't see those names sticking down the line...) alongside the Hardy Boys in eight man tag team action was a fun way to open up RAW tonight, although I can't help but feel that their routine with the tag team division, namely the New Age Outlaws is growing very tired. I liked the inclusion of Douglas Furnas and Phillip LaFon, although I don't think they're too necessary, quite honestly. Good shine for the Outlaws, Billy Gunn and Jesse James. The feud continues...but hopefully it comes to an end at In Your House. Ahmed Johnson with some tough words for the British Bulldog was nice, although I can't imagine the promo being fantastic, hah. Duke Droese got jumped by Mark Henry? That's what you get when you're a superstar that doesn't belong in the World Wrestling Federation at this point winding up in a pre-booked match for RAW is WAR. Hahaha. Sean Waltman defeating Chris Candido was expected, given the Kliq's dismissal of Candido. Waltman's promo afterwards was fine, for what it was. I still feel as though Waltman is above the WWF Light Heavyweight Championship picture, though. A big promo-focused show, this one. A great promo from Goldust, I liked his comparison to his feud with Bret Hart to Batman (1989). Great work on that promo. Shawn Michaels' promo was great, as a first-hour ending segment to the show. Michaels wanting a shot at the WWF Championship was cool, although it's strange to think that Kane will seemingly get in HBK's way. Nonetheless, I don't think Kane and Shawn ever crossed paths in 1997, so I'm all up for this - although it seems likely that Kane will lose to Michaels. The Rock winning a battle royal made things interesting. By the way, great choices for the battle royal. Very focused on Prime Time Enterprises, unused undercarders, and even some feuds, as well. Rock to face D-Lo Brown for the WWF Intercontinental Championship should heighten Rock's character a little more, so good job here. I do hope that Brown retains, leading to a rematch down the line, though. It'll be interesting to see how you build this match up, in the coming weeks. Hunter Hearst Helmsley's comments for Ken Shamrock was nice, not bad. Shamrock will rip him to shreds...Bret Hart getting a win against Brian Christopher was good, and I liked Goldust continuing to play mind games with Hart. Speaking of which...it's nearly November 1997. Hmm, I can't imagine that Bret will be leaving though, especially not after you kept Diesel and Razor Ramon around. Chris Benoit was straight to the point with his physical and verbal assault for Vader, seeking a rematch. I'll tell you, the Survivor Series should be very well booked, at this rate. So much going on. And finally, Stone Cold Steve Austin defeating Scott Hall made for a solid main event. A decent show overall, setting the wheels in motion for In Your House. .
WWF Superstars: Sunday 5th October 1997...Oh no, that's a touchy date...hope Brian Pillman's alright. I'd personally like to see some more light-heavyweight showcase on RAW is WAR, personally. Rey Mysterio Jr and Psychosis must be putting on some great matches on Superstars...but what about RAW? Hmm, they need more exposure. The New Age Outlaws' comments for the Hardy Boys were fine; I could actually see Jeff and Matt potentially pulling off the upset and claiming the WWF Tag Team Championships at In Your House, come to think about it. D-Lo Brown defeating Marty Jannetty was fine, I'm surprised to still see Jannetty on the payroll, personally. TAKA Michinoku defeating Scott Taylor, fine. Sycho Sid and Owen Hart will hopefully settle their strange rivalry on RAW is WAR tomorrow night, I hope anyway. The Headbangers then getting a win was fine, followed by some establishment for the Stone Cold Steve Austin and Undertaker rivalry over the vacant WWF Championship. Finally, a decent main event win for Douglas Furnas against Christian Cage, a decent show for what Superstars is right now. I'm surprised Shotgun Saturday Night hasn't shown its' head yet. Good work this week.
