Date - September 13 1998 Location - Winston-Salem, North Carolina The Show opened with some video packages highlighting matches on the show, mainly Goldberg v Hogan and Hart v Hennig v Page as well as the war games match. Match 1 – Cruiserweight Title – Rey Mysterio Jr © vs Psychosis vs La Parka vs Juventud GuerreraA good match and a great way to start off Fall Brawl. All 4 men had their chances at the title and there was quick paced action all the way through. Juventud Guerrera looked like he was going to get the pin on Psychosis when Mysterio came out of nowhere to hit a hurricanrana and the pinfall at 12 minutes. Winner and still Cruiserweight Champion – Rey Mysterio JrPostmatch: Guerrera and La Parka start a beatdown on Mysterio when Ultimo Dragon comes out and makes the save sending Guerrera and La Parka away. Ultimo and Mysterio have a awkward handshake. Raven comes out and says the Flock is reborn. He says that Raven is just going to watch as his new extreme members of the Flock will defeat Kidman and Lodi. All of a sudden The DUDLEY BOYZ come to the ring. Match 2 – The Dudley Boyz (Bubba & Dvon) vs Kidman and LodiWasn’t a classic as more of a way of debuting the Dudley’s and putting them over. Dudley Boyz pretty much dominated the match and won with a Dudley Death Drop at 6 minutes. Winners – The Dudley BoyzPostmatch: The Dudley Boyz celebrate with Raven who spits in both Kidman’s and Lodi’s face reminiscent of what they did to him at Road Wild Match 3 – TV Title – Eddie Guerrero © vs Chavo GuerreroA good match but far from what they are capable of. Chavo actually was in control for a lot of this match and looked on target to become the new TV champ before Eddie cheated and used the tights to retain his title at 10 minutes. Winner and still TV Champ – Eddie GuerreroMatch 4 – Bam Bam Bigelow vs Kevin NashA bad match but still had its big man moments. Basically a pretty stiff brawl. Bam Bam showed some athleticism but eventually fell short as Nash hit the Jacknife to win at 11 minutes. Winner – Kevin NashPostmatch: Bam Bam attacks Kevin Nash and a brawl begins they start fighting to the back, Bam Bam looks like he’s trying to kill Nash as he takes on top of a balcony but Nash fights back and tosses Bam Bam off onto the floor. Match 5 – Chris Jericho & Ric Flair w/ Arn Anderson vs Chris Benoit & Dean Malenko w/ Steve McMichaelThis was the best match of the night in terms of wrestling and the crowd was really into it. Jericho and Flair used their head to gain control of the match for the most part. Anderson & McMichael even had a fight on the outside. Benoit & Malenko looked like they were in control before Jericho used some brass knucks on Malenko and pinned him at the 17-minute mark. Winners – Chris Jericho & Ric FlairPostmatch: Jericho continues a beatdown on both men as Flair and Anderson look impressed and they walk out. Match 6 – US Title – DDP © vs Bret Hart vs Curt HennigAnother great match, even better than their Road Wild encounter. All 3 men hit some patented spots and looked like they were going to walk out with the title. Hart had Page in the Sharpshooter and Page looked like he was going to tap before Hennig threw Hart out and pinned Hennig with a Hennig-plex at 26 minutes. Winner and new US Champ – Curt HennigPostmatch: Again Hart looks pissed but just shrugs it away and walks off as Hennig celebrates. Match 7 – World’s Heavyweight Title – Goldberg © vs Hulk HoganThe crowd was still hot from the previous two encounters and this was seen as not living up to the standards set by the previous matches. Still this was a very heated encounter but it seemed a bit slow paced as the two seemed to stall after hitting a move. Goldberg eventually won with a Jackhammer at 18 minutes. Winner and Still World’s Heavyweight Champ – GoldbergThe double cage comes down as War Games is about to begin it is revealed that Hollywood won the toss. Match 8 – War Games – nwo Hollywood (Scott Hall, The Giant, Brian Adams, Scott Norton) vs nwo Wolfpac (Sting, Lex Luger, Mark Kerr, Konnan)Scott Hall & Mark Kerr started things off. Hall seemed to be in control for the most part but Kerr kept putting some shoot holds on Hall to put him on the back foot. Eventually number 2 for Hollywood came out as Scott Norton entered the ring. Norton and Hall dominated Kerr for the next 2 ½ minutes before Konnan came in to even the odds. Both teams exchanged blows and got some near falls before Hollywood’s Brian Adams entered the mix. Hollywood got some near falls but Konnan and Kerr held on until Sting hit the ring as the number 3 from Wolfpac. Sting was on fire and Wolfpac was in control before The Giant hit the ring and decimated everyone on Wolfpac. Lex Luger came in and Wolfpac eventually grounded The Giant and tried to keep him there whilst they worked on the other members. Very many near falls were interrupted or kicked out of during the match. Hall, Norton, Kerr & Konnan all got busted up during the match. Kerr looked as if he was going to make Norton tap via a Guillotine Choke but Hall hit the Razors Edge and pinned Konnan to win the match for his team. Winners – nWo HollywoodPostmatch: nWwo Hollywood start celebrating all of a sudden Sid hits the ring and starts destroying everyone in his path as he takes down both members of Hollywood & Wolfpac. Fall Brawl goes off the air with Sid standing tall.

Good PPV. I liked the triple threat match. Im kinda over the nwo vs wolfpac fued, and i hope goldberg moves on to a new, long feud. Not sure how I like the Dudleyz as flock members. they dont really fit the mold of Raven's Flock, but it could work.

GAH... a PINFALL ended a War Games match? SUBMIT OR SURRENDER. Are you Vince Russo? Except for that, I liked the show a lot... I'd have to wonder about any show with Hogan-Goldberg not putting that on last. Every match had the right booking results, and that's a good thing.

OK the last one was just a creative way to say I won't be going past Halloween Havoc in this diary. I sort of want to finish it and get on to a new diary which I will do shortly after Havoc. Thank you to everyone who has read and supported my diary.

No preview Date – September 14 1998 Location – Greenville, South Carolina nWo Hollywood come to the ring and talk about how they dominated War Games and how they have proven that they are better than Wolfpac. Scott Hall grabs a microphone and begins to talk before Kevin Nash comes out. He says for Hall to shut up stop coming up with excuses and to fight him in the ring. Hall says if Nash beats Bigelow in a Hardcore match tonight then he will get a match with him. Match 1 – The Dudleyz w/ Raven vs Kidman & LodiAgain just a reason to put the Dudleyz over, Kidman & Lodi got more offence in this match but ultimately fell short as the Dudleyz delivered the Dudley Death Drop at 8 minutes. Winners – The DudleyzPostmatch - The Dudleyz continue beating down Kidman & Lodi until Raven is satisfied. Hogan is backstage and he says he is not going to stop until he gets his title back and demands a rematch. Match 2 – Ultimo Dragon vs Juventud GuerreraA decent match that saw both men get in good offense. Ultimo eventually won with a Corkscrew Moonsault at 9 minutes. Winner – Ultimo DragonMalenko is backstage saying how he respected Anderson & Flair for so long, he then says he has no respect for Jericho, all of a sudden Jericho attacks him and leaves him unconscious. Match 3 – Hardcore Match – Kevin Nash vs Bam Bam BigelowBetter than the Fall Brawl match but still no classic. This was a brutal brawl that had a lot of weapons being used. Scott Hall tried to interfere on behalf of Bigelow but accidentally nailed him with a steel chair leading to a Nash Jacknife for the the win at 11 minutes. Winner - Kevin NashEric Bischoff announces a new member of nWo Hollyeood and that he has tamed him. Sid comes out flanked by officers with a straight jacket on. He takes it off for his match with Konnan. Match 4 – Sid w/ Bischoff vs KonnanKonnan got a lot more offense than expected but this was still a poor match. Sid pretty much dominated and hit a powerbomb on Konnan to win at 7 minutes. Winner – SidPostmatch: Sid looks like he’s angry at Bischoff before security restrain him. Wolfpac were backstage saying they have to make a stand and take out people who talk too much to gain things that they don’t deserve. Match 5 – No 1 contender for the US Title – Bret Hart vs Diamond Dallas PageAnother good encounter between these two men. Both men looked sure to win but both were kicking out. Hart was in control but Curt Hennig came out and dragged Hart out of the ring for a count out victory for Page at 17 minutes. Winner by count out – DDPHart then grabs a mic and says he has had enough of this US Title crap. He says he has not been pinned or made to submit in this series of matches yet he isn’t US champ. He then says Page & Hennig can keep going for the US Title because he is here to call out Goldberg for a match. Goldberg comes to the ring and says “your next” in a heated staredown.

Date - September 21 1998 Location - Tampa Bay, Florida Match 1 – TV Title – Eddie Guerrero © vs Chavo GuerreroA good match between the two that had many tide swings. Finish came with Eddie exposing the top turnbuckle and throwing Chavo into it at 8 minutes. Winner & still TV champ – Eddie GuerreroScott Hall is backstage with nWwo Hollywood. He says that they can’t let Kevin Nash get hold of him he says they need to make sure he can’t walk before Halloween Havoc. Match 2 – WCW Tag Team Titles – Harlem Heat vs Brian Adams & Scott NortonAn average match that really didn’t see anything to make it exciting. Harlem Heat won with a Heat Bomb at 9 minutes. Winners & still tag team champs – Harlem HeatPostmatch: Harlem Heat were celebrating seemingly back on the same page when the Dudley Boyz accompanied by Raven came in and attacked them. Raven signaled for gold. Bret hart is having an interview and he states that Goldberg is facing a new type of wrestler, something that he has never seen in WCW, he says that he is determined for the gold and nothing will stop him. Match 3 – Sid w/Eric Bischoff vs Chris KanyonSid came out in a straight accompanied by Bischoff again. Sid destroyed Kanyon and hit the powerbomb in less than a minute. Winner – SidPostmatch: Bischoff came and celebrated with Sid before Sid all of a sudden attacked him he threw a few security guards and continued going for Bischoff. The Disciple, Horace Hogan & Vincent all came out and unsuccessfully tried to attack Sid before The Giant came in and knocked Sid over he walked out with Bischoff. Hollywood Hogan is backstage and says he deserves to be in that title match at Havoc, that he is WCW. Lex Luger than walks past and tells Hogan to shutup and that he doesn’t deserve anything, Hogan slaps Luger and Luger jumps on him and a brawl begins before it’s broken up. Match 4 – Rey Mysterio & Ultimo Dragon vs Juventud Guerrera & La ParkaA pretty good cruiserweight match that saw Mysterio & Dragon on top for a majority of the match. Ultimo Dragon made the pin at 11 minutes with the Corkscrew Moonsault. Winners – Rey Mysterio & Ultimo DragonDDP is in the ring and he says that he is looking forward to regaining that US Title. Curt Hennig then comes out and attacks Page with the US belt. Hennig yells at Page that he is a nobody. Match 5 – Chris Benoit & Dean Malenko vs Alex Wright & Disco InfernoSurprisingly a long match that was actually quite good. Both teams got good action in and Malenko won after a Texas Cloverleaf on Wright and he tapped at 16 minutes. Winners – Chris Benoit & Dean MalenkoChris Jericho, Ric Flair & Arn Anderson come down and beat up on Malenko and Benoit they throw Benoit out and continue the beatdown on Malenko Benoit grabs a chair and wards the other 3 off. Malenko staggers to his feet and all of a sudden Benoit slams Malenko with the chair. Benoit leaves with the other 3 and they are all smiling.

Ahh screw it I don’t want to type up all the other shows and want to get onto HH so my next show is going to be Halloween Havoc, I think if you've read you can pretty much guess the matches on the show, but I will give a little storyline detail next to them anyway. Preview - October 25 1998 World's Heavyweight Title - Goldberg © vs Bret Hart - Hart was angry that he could not get the US Title so he challenged Goldberg for the World’s title, Goldberg accepted and over the past few weeks Hart has said and even shown that he is a new type of challenger, Goldberg hasn’t been intimidated though and the two have been going face to face for the past few weeks, will Goldberg remain dominant or will Bret Hart do what no one else has done before and beat Goldberg? Kevin Nash vs Scott Hall – For the past few months Kevin Nash has been trying to get his hands on Scott Hall for betraying him and heading for Hollywood. Hall has so far kept away and has recently made Hollywood members do his bidding for him but they have been unsuccessful in taking down the big man. There will be nowhere to run at Halloween Havoc as the two will face off in what is sure to be a fierce encounter. Number 1 contenders match - Hollywood Hogan vs Lex Luger – Recently the Wolfpac have been going for people who demand more than they deserve. Luger thought that Hogan was that as he demanded a title shot. Recently Hogan has wanted Luger out of his and wanted to go on to the title. The match was then made a number one contenders match with the winner facing the winner of the title match at World War 3. Who will come out on top in this war? Cage match – Chris Jericho vs Dean Malenko – This rivalry will come to a head at HH. It was revealed that it was Jericho who convinced Benoit to turn on his partner and best friend and join him, Anderson & Flair. Jericho then defended Benoit and said Malenko was going to have to come through him. Malenko has taken all his frustration out on Jericho but the numbers got to Malenko eventually and Jericho has been on a mission recently to destroy everything that Malenko has worked for and even literally destroyed him. This heated rivalry will be settled once and for all at Halloween Havoc. US Title – Last Man Standing – Curt Hennig © vs Diamond Dallas Page – These two have been trying to better one another for a while now and both competitors have said that the other has been lucky in the victories they have gotten over them and they could beat the other easily. Well there will be no lucky in this match and there will be no easy victories as the two will face off in once and for all decider in a last man standing match for the US Title, who will be the last man standing? Tag Team Titles – Harlem Heat © vs The Dudley Boyz – The Dudley Boyz have been pretty dominant since their debut in WCW but will face another team who has been dominant over the years in Harlem Heat. Heat have had their trouble over the past few months but have resolved their differences to take on Raven’s Flock members The Dudley Boyz. Who will this battle in new vs old? Cruiserweight Title – Rey Mysterio Jr © vs Ultimo Dragon – Both of these men have had great success in multiple countries and have great respect for each other but that is not stopping them from going all out to capture the Cruiserweight Title. Ultimo has proved recently that he could be a force to be reckoned with in the Cruiserweight division and Rey Mysterio as always has been a great champion. Which friend will this match? Mark Kerr vs Chris Benoit – Chris Benoit has said that he is the best this business has to offer and could outwrestle anyone and challenged anyone to a match at HH. Mark Kerr accepted that challenge, as the former MMA fighter has nicely adapted to the WCW style. Kerr has also shown much bravery accepting the challenge as Benoit is one tough customer and will stop at nothing to cripple Kerr. Notes – Sid vs The Giant scheduled to be a match at this event but The Giant was injured as he suffered a broken arm and will be out for 8 months. - J.J Dillon has banned any representatives from any stable in helping out in their respective stable mates matches. That means no one from Hollywood, Wolfpac, Horseman or the Flock will be allowed at ringside during their respective friends matches. Watch Halloween Havoc live from the MGM Grand from Las Vegas Nevada only on PPV.

Kerr/Benoit will be fantastic. I hope Hart and Hennig win their respective titles. Sucks about The Giant. Great diary, reminds me of the days of me watching WCW.

Date – October 25 1998 Location – Las Vegas, Nevada The Pre Show features some highlight videos focusing on all the matches and feuds. Particularly focusing on what is being called the “biggest match in recent history” Bret Hart vs Goldberg and being called an 8 match supercard. Match 1 – Cruiserweight Title – Rey Mysterio Jr © vs Ultimo DragonA good match to start off the PPV. Great cruiser action from both as they sped all around the ring with cheers for both men. Both men traded blows and signature moves for many near falls. Dragon went for a corkscrew moonsault but Mysterio rolled out of the way then rolled up Dragon for the pin at 12 minutes. Winner and still Cruiserweight Champion – Rey Mysterio Jr.Postmatch: A sign of respect between the 2 superstars as they shake hands to cheers from the crowd. Match 2 – Tag Team Titles – Harlem Heat © vs Dudley BoyzRaven was banned from ringside in this match as are all stable mates for anyone tonight. This match was an average tag team match and the crowd were still pumped from the last one so probably expected more. Still the match wasn’t awful as Harlem Heat used experience to welcome the Dudley’s truly to the WCW style. The Dudley’s fought back however and hit the Dudley Death Drop at 9 minutes for the win. Winners & new Tag Team champions – The Dudley BoyzPostmatch: Harlem Heat argued a bit as the Dudley’s celebrated. Match 3 – Mark Kerr vs Chris BenoitThis match rocked the MGM as it really had everything, Kerr had his best outing by far as both men showed great displays of mat wrestling, technical wrestling as well as some good brawling to back it up, these two had the crowd in the palm of their hands. Benoit began to use some heelish tactics to gain the advantage. Benoit locked in the cross face and Kerr was about to tap before suddenly he reversed it and locked on a neck crank and Benoit tapped at 19 minutes. Winner – Mark KerrMichael Buffer made his way to the ring rather early tonight as he was ready for the final 5 matches. Match 4 – US Title – Last Man Standing – Curt Hennig © vs Diamond Dallas PageAnother good match on the card. Hennig & Page both put on some good in ring psychology as they both tried putting their opponents down for the 10 count. Hennig used everything to his advantage trying to get Page down but he wouldn’t stay down. Hennig & Page both fought to the stage Page went for the Diamond Cutter but Hennig blocked it and Hennig threw Page off the stage in what looked like a sick but it was a safe bump for the win at 22 minutes. Winner & still US champ – Curt HennigPostmatch: Paramedics come out to take Page to the hospital as both men are bloody. Both men get an applause. Match 5 – Number 1 Contendership – Hollywood Hogan vs Lex LugerThe crowd were still hot from the previous matches so this match suffered but it was still a better than expected match. There was a lot of stiff brawling going on. Luger showed some fight but Hogan controlled the match and eventually hit the Leg Drop for the win at 9 minutes. Winner – Hollywood HoganThe Cage lowers down for the next match as a video package highlights this feud. Match 6 – Cage Match – Chris Jericho vs Dean MalenkoAnother great match on the card. This match again showed everything as both men worked a near perfect cage match that didn’t focus on gore. Jericho worked over Malenko and tried to escape but Malenko was more concerned with punishing Jericho before trying to escape. Jericho did eventually get busted open and Malenko could’ve easily gotten out but chose not to. Eventually both men were on top of the cage and then Jericho threw him off the top and Jericho literally just fell out and won the match at 25 minutes. Winner – Chris JerichoA video package highlighting the Kevin Nash/Scott Hall feud is shown. Match 7 – Kevin Nash vs Scott HallThese two finally got in the ring but the match seemed to stall. Hall seemingly wasted the first minute evading Nash. Hall then began to cheat and gained the advantage on Nash for a while. Nash however was focused on destroying Hall and however seemed too focused at times handing the advantage to Hall. Nash seemed very stiff in this but this was mainly a brawl type match. Nash eventually went crazy and hit the Jacknife for the win at 17 minutes. Winner – Kevin NashA video package shows what is being called “the biggest match in recent history” Match 8 – World’s Heavyweight Title – Goldberg © vs Bret HartThe crowd was very hot for this match and were hot for both men. This match was better than expected and Hart easily carried Goldberg to his best match in his career. Both Hart and Goldberg had their turns of being in control of the match as it went back and forth and the crowd loved it. Very many near falls as Goldberg used his strength and Hart tried to ground Goldberg. Goldberg went for the Spear but Hart dodged rolled up Goldberg and locked in the Sharpshooter. Goldberg made the ropes once but couldn’t hold on as he passed out to the Sharpshooter for the win and the title as well as becoming the first man to defeat Goldberg. Winner & new WCW World Champion – Bret Hart.Postmatch: Hart celebrated as the crowd popped for a bit as Goldberg regained conscious. Hart offered Goldberg a handshake, Goldberg accepted it and was about to leave before all of a sudden Spearing Hart. Goldberg began to beat down on Hart to a chorus of boos. Goldberg leaves looking pissed. Hart stays around selling the beating but thanking the crowd.

Great booking. I don't think i've seen a more star studden PPV lineup. just awesome matches throughout. Great job.
Pleased that Hart won, AND broke the streak of Goldberg. A Goldberg heel turn? I hope not i guess, but i'd like to see a rematch with hart somehow.
Reply to WSX please?

You had a very strong finish to your fed, that was kind of hurt when you started skipping Nitros, as it felt like a lot of the stuff had little build. In many ways, this felt like a very faithful WCW, and I'm sad to see you end.
