Great show, as usual. D-Lo getting a bit of confidence at the start of the show. Great move putting him at the start of the show and building him up a bit, not throwing him around wherever. Nice to see where Eddie Charles ends up. Dusting up the ol' reffing skills, hey Cia. Great win by Basham and Adams, really building both of them up. Kid Kash and Al Snow is an odd pairing, but I think it was pulled off great. I am really interested in where Adams can go, and how Al Snow will be a part of it. A long Kash/Basham feud would do APW wonders as well. Maven! I was a real Maven mark a few years ago, and it is good to see him in APW. Kidman must be happy he is doing something with his life after being kicked to the curb by Torrie Wilson. Solid win by Kidman. Hah, I guess Maven didn't take the loss very well. Good to see you getting down and dirty for a change, you **** Great show as always, and I am loving every single show you do.

14th March 2007 -
Tonights show went really well, I certainly enjoyed both watching and being apart of it. Eddie Charles made a decent debut, we had our first ever Tag Team Match and Maven made his first appearance for the Association of Professional Wrestling, but came up short against Trophy Holder, Billy Kidman. I can now confirm that Billy Kidman cannot make the next show, so the Trophy will not be on the line, we will however be having a Number One Contenders match, the winner from this match, will go onto face Kidman at APW8.
The match will consist of; Maven, Thomas Adams, Al Snow, Kid Kash and Doug Basham. It will be a 5 Way Elimination Match, you can be eliminated by Pinfall or Submission and once your eliminated, you must go to the back. I'm sure sure who we are going to have win yet, but I'm pretty sure whoever it is, will put on a great match with Pete.
In other news, Ruairidh Gauld and Chris Cutter (The two picked from wrestlingfigs.com) will be continuing their training this week, with Al Snow, Thomas Adams and Eddie Charles. I'm not sure how the two will be used in APW yet, but I do know that they have both been slated as "good starters" - So hopefully, we'll see quick improvement.
I'm really looking forward to APW7, hopefully everything will go alright. I'm not sure how it will come off, not having the APW Trophy on the line, but I'm sure it will be okay, I'll have an update later in the week, in regard to APW10 AND I will be asking for some fan feedback. Until next time.
Peace.

Damn that Kidman. I think Chaz should come in and beat him for the trophy .. xD
Just kidding. Greatness tbh. I can see Adams getting the shot at the trophy.
Can't wait for APW7.

18th March 2007 -
Today has been an interesting day for APW. We had yet another training session with Al Snow, Thomas Adams, Eddie Charles, Ruairidh Gauld and Chris Cutter; during the break, I was interupted by a young man, who said he entered the Wrestlingfigs.com competition to earn 6 months free training; and was shocked and upset when he wasn't chosen, he told me he had raised the funds and would like to pay to be trained. Now, I know it was a little mad, but I couldn't deny this kid his training and I was getting quite low on funds, so I willingly accepted his offer, he had his gear and everything with him; so he got in the ring with the others, and joined in the final couple of hours of training. His name was "Chaz" and we'll be using that as his ring name for the time being, but I'm sure it will change in the future. It really depends on how well he clicks with the audience (Once he finally gets in front of them.)
Thats not the only thing I wanted to announce in this update; As you should all know by now, Hardcore Legend; Mick Foley! Will be appearing at APW 10, challenging the APW Trophy Holder (Whoever that may be at the time) for the Association of Professional Wrestling Trophy. Now; Mick and I have been talking and we have decided, that YOU! the fans can choose the type of match Foley and the TH will have at the event. You have three choices and PLEASE cast your vote. (Note to WF readers, I actually would like you to vote on the stipulation for the match; many thanks to any that do.)
1. 2 Out of 3 Falls Match 2. No Disqualification Match 3. Falls Count Anywhere Match
I will hopefully be revealing the decision of the fan vote on the upcoming APW7, so get voting and show your support for APW!
Finally; APW will be testing the use of "Entrance music" on the upcoming show, only one wrestler will enter to music, to see how it comes off from the crowd; Doug Basham will be entering to "Iron Man" by Black Sabbath. This test will determin if stars enter to theme music on future APW shows. Until next time....
Peace.

Pretty much the same I've felt about your other stuff for the fed. Your writing is the best on the board, really, really great, but the believability, and the idea that you'd keep bringing in MORE people when you're not drawing flies, just kills it for me.
46 fans. That's how many fans want to see the "cavalcade" of guys that were well known 2-3 years ago. Let's say, a price that would be pretty astronomical for an indy this size, but let's say you charged $15 a ticket. That's a $690 gate.
You mentioned in the first post of the diary that this takes place in Long Island. The policies set fourth by the NYS Professional Wrestling Health and Safety Act are as follows: -$20, 000 Surety Bond (in the unlikely hood of a lawsuit against the promoter) -$450 licensing fee (cost of the license itself) -$7,500 medical coverage and $100,000 accidental death insurance for all wrestlers on your card -$1,000,000 liability policy for the venue -A licensed physician must be present that must be approved by the NYSAC (a cost of anywhere between $100-$300 per show)
You take that, and that's more than your gate.
You're then supposed to have enough to pay the rental of the community center, which, Long Island, is probably 400-500 for one night.
Then you're also supposed to have enough to arrange for Kidman and Basham to come from Florida, D-Lo to come from Illinois, Snow from Louisville(or if you'd convinced him to move there, you'd have to arrange him a salary and a place to live), as well as Kid Kash and Maven to come in, PLUS the payout for the evening, because they don't work for free.
Scale back on the damn stars, man!

Scale back on the damn stars, man! I agree with what your saying; and I'd honestly like to thank you for leaving such a kickass reply, but I'm trying to keep the diary as realistic as possible, without having to use a crappy roster, that won't interest any readers and won't generate replies. I'm sorry that I haven't thought of all the things you listed, and I'm also sorry that you think the star power I'm using is too much (I'll cut back on future shows.) - But I honestly am trying to keep it realistic, whilst gaining and retaining peoples interest and that is VERY hard without having some recognisable faces. Again; thank you for the reply and I'll try and make altercations to the diary in the very, near future.

As I said, I REALLY like the writing, I think you're really the best here, and I'm not trying to hate on you at all(really, really am not, <3 4 realz), it's just I've been on the promotional end of indy wrestling(one of my best friends owns a company in Tulsa), and it probably bugged me a lot more than it should've. You set a VERY strict guideline in the beginning, and that probably added a bit to it too, because I liked it a lot in the beginning, and it originally felt pretty authentic, but then kind of went south, in that respect.

So you are saying for a promotion to run a show, they need roughly $1,140,000?

Doesn't actually cost a mil for the liability policy.
From what I've researched, it's probably about 6 grand for a year, for as many shows as you run, although I might've read some stuff wrong.
And the other insurance doesn't cost as much as you have to be covered by, but if you run in a state that's a stickler about those kinds of things, it can get very expensive.
And yes, New York is one of the worst places in the country to run from that standpoint.
For example, I know in Oklahoma, it's like $300 for the insurance for the night done through the boxing commission, 10% of the gate just for the representative showing, and a couple of other fees/rules.
