March 5th, 2001- One of the weirdest stories of the year might be unfolding. Last week, ecwwrestling.com went dark. Most fans assumed that was the end. The scheduled PPV for this weekend was pulled off of Viewer’s Choice PPV, and the promise of future ECW shows was said to be bleaker than ever. It ultimately looked like any shows ran would be ECW in name only. Most of their top stars have defected to either the giant WWE or the faltering WCW. Lance Storm. Mike Awesome. Tazz. The Dudley Boyz. Heyman still claimed he was in Los Angeles looking for financing, but this seemed less likely by the day and ultimately doomed. It appeared ECW was dead. However, after being down for 72 hours, ecwwrestling.com came back up. However, instead of the full page that had been previously occupying the server, only a small graphic fills the page, along with a countdown and a string of text. The text says WE’RE STILL HERE, ASSH*LE. And the countdown ends this Saturday. If you click on the link, you’re taken to Ticketmaster, which has tickets for an event this Saturday Night at the New Viking Arena in South Philadelphia, AKA the ECW Arena. (1wrestling.com)

Living Dangerously 2001 Paul Heyman is in the middle of the ring while the crowd chants “E-C-DUB! E-C-DUB!” He talks about how everyone thought ECW was dead. Everyone thought that the banner that these men built with their blood, sweat, and tears would be bought and sold in a bankruptcy court. Well, he’s got a message to everyone who thought that, and that message is WE’RE STILL STANDING, ASSH*LES! ECW is now better off financially than it has been in years. Fans need to stay tuned to ecwwrestling.com for news regarding future events, a television deal, or anything else on the Horizon. But the fans weren’t here to see Heyman take up the whole show talking… so LETS… GET… EXTREME! (74%) AJ Styles defeated the American Dragon and James Yun in a 3 Way Dance.-This match was compared to the early Super Crazy vs. Tajiri matches in that you could see the three involved grow and prosper in ECW. Yun was the most well-known from his days in WCW, but the fans at large didn’t know the workers, but responded to the action in the ring. Yun pinned Dragon with a Springboard Dropkick, and left just him and Styles. They went back and forth and won the crowd over before Styles put Yun away with the Styles Clash. (61%) Danny Doring and Roadkill defeated the Unholy Alliance to retain the ECW World Tag Team Titles.-By winning the triangle tag team match at Guilty as Charged, The Unholy Alliance of Mikey Whipwreck and Tajiri received a tag team title shot tonight. However, they couldn’t make it count, as Doring and Roadkill were just on. They went back and forth, while Hot Commodity made their way down to ringside to watch… after Tajiri was pinned by the Buggy Bomb, Hot Commodity jumped into the ring and attacked both teams! (76%) Jerry Lynn defeated Balls Mahoney.-The “New F’N Show” made an impact here, putting away the old veteran Balls in short order. Balls tried to fight back, and actually had a good run going with people thinking he’d pick up the upset. However, it was Balls trademark steel chair that he introduced that ended up being his undoing, as Lynn ended up using the Cradle Piledriver on Balls on that chair. (66%) Swinger and Diamond defeated the New Impact Players.-With big talent, you get big egos, and in this match, there were some big egos, as after a few miscommunications, Justin Credible slapped Steve Corino and walked out on him, leaving him in the ring alone with Swinger and Diamond! Corino didn’t get in much offense after that, finally being put away with a Problem Solver. (67%) Super Crazy defeated Juventud Guerrera.-This was billed as a “Dream Match”, and no one knew that Juventud would be there before hand, so when he appeared the crowd went insane. And this was an absolutely incredible match, flawless execution that the crowd REALLY came around on, and started loving by the end of it. Crazy ended up putting Guerrera away with a Moonsault, and after the match, offered a handshake, but Guerrera blew him off and started making obscene gestures at the crowd directed at Crazy. (80%) Rob Van Dam is in the middle of the ring, and he wants a shot at the ECW World Heavyweight Champion, Rhino, TONIGHT. Rhino and Cyrus the Virus appear, Cyrus tries to talk Rhino into going to the back, but Rhino ignores the advice and hits the ring! (71%) Sabu defeated Rhino and Rob Van Dam in a 3 Way Dance to win the ECW World Heavyweight Title.-Before the match could even begin, the lights in the arena went dark… the fans started to worry maybe the power had gone out, but then they came back on, and Sabu was mid-air about to hit Rhino, who was still on the outside! This is now a 3 Way Dance! Rob Van Dam, who’d only wrestled one match since returning to ECW, seemed to have some ring rust, but held his own pretty well, until Rhino Gored him through a table in the corner of the ring, pinning him and eliminating him from the match! This brought it down to Sabu and Rhino with the biggest prize in ECW at stake. Rhino hit the big Gore and everyone thought the match was over, when before Rhino could pin him, “Enter Sandman” started up… It’s the Sandman, and he’s pointing his Singapore Cane at Rhino! He’s in the ring, and he’s caning the hell out of the ECW World Champion! He hits the White Russian Legsweep! Sabu is up… he sees Rhino down, grabs a chair, and hits the Triple Jump Moonsault… one… two… three! Sabu has done it! We have a new ECW World Heavyweight Champion! (78%)

ECW Newsline March 22nd, 2001
Jasmine St. Claire found out this weekend that she was going to need neck surgery. Save your deep throat jokes for yourself. We won't see Jasmine back until the end of the year, and we wish her all the best in her recovery.
At a Juggalo Championsh*t Wrestling event Friday Night, Justin Credible took a splinter into the eye. There were early worries his sight would be effected, but he will be fine, unfortunately he won't be back until sometime this Summer.
Steve Corino's last ECW match was at Living Dangerously. He recently signed with WCW.
The next ECW event will be April 15th, live from the ECW Arena. New ECW World Champion Sabu will be on a tour of Japan, so he will not be there, but we will see Rhino take on the Sandman, Rob Van Dam will face Jerry Lynn with the winner getting the next ECW World Title shot, Super Crazy and Juventud Guerrera will face off in a dream partners tag team match, and much more! Lynn beatings Ballz was awesome, Didn't like Rhino losing the title. Crazy beating Juventud was awesome, those two can always put on matches. Justin blowing his partner away? I would of thought because of a feud but Corino is in WCW Now. AJ Styles in ecw? could it of actually hapen? still. he works.
Aweome diary so far. Keep it up and I will continue reading.

AJ was tearing up NWA Wildside at the time, which was one of the hottest indy feds in the country, and was getting an awful lot of hype before he started doing a per-appearance deal with WCW. I'm not sure how much interest ECW had in him, but they were definitely about to bring in younger talent. I know the later shows, they brought in Chris Daniels for a weekend, as well as Michael Shane and Rudy Gonzales(they wanted to start using a lot of the TWA guys, which would've lead to London, Spanky, AmDrag, etc.).

Ahh, WCW for signing Steve Corino... I woulda loved to see what you would done with The Greatness that is Corino. Hopefully you won't go crazy pushing A.J Styles to the moon though, :-P but keep it up though. I like how you got Sabu to win the ECW Title, I don't mind Rhino losing though... I love the Sandman though, :-D I'm def. keepin my eye on this diary for sure.

April 15th, 2001 ECW Arena show... Juventud Guerrera and TAKA Michinoku defeated Kid Kash and Super Crazy.-As expected, Super Crazy confirmed his regular tag team partner Kid Kash as his dream partner. Now, the Juvi Juice, he chose former WWF Light Heavyweight Champion TAKA Michinoku! This was TAKA’s first ECW appearance in a couple of years. The crowd was really into this match, as it was flat out one of the best tag team matches anyone had seen in years. Kash tried a plancha and missed, hitting his head on the guard rail, and that was about it for him, as he was tossed into the ring, and a Michinoku Driver later, and Juventud had won round 2 of his feud with Super Crazy. (79%) Cyrus the Virus is in the ring, with his men, Rhino and Jerry Lynn. He talked about how although Rhino had his ECW World Heavyweight Title stolen from him, after Lynn beats RVD tonight and Sabu next month, that they’ll have both belts “back in the family”. And to Sandman, tonight, your career ends at the hands of the raging Rhino. You’d better kiss your wife, your child, tell them you love them, because you’re not going to walk out of that ring under your own will tonight. (70%) American Dragon defeated James Yun.- Absolutely incredible match. Dragon and Yun REALLY tore it up tonight, and the fans started to really respond to these two kids. Yun got a lot of heat early by waving the Chinese flag he’d brought to ringside. They both tried to outwrestle each other, with Dragon getting the better end, before anyone tried anything arial. But then they flew. Dragon hit a big tope that had the fans erupt into a HUGE “E-C-Dub!” chant. Yun went for the move that used to be called Yang Time, but missed. This allowed Dragon to lock on the Dragon Sleeper for the victory. (72%) Marty Jannetty and Nova defeated Hot Commodity.-Jannetty made his first appearance inside an ECW ring in years, teaming with Nova tonight. Although Hot Commodity had been “hot” recently, including a title shot at the last PPV, Julio Dinero and EZ Money really weren’t clicking against the two “tag team specialists” in Nova and Marty. Jannetty got the pin when he hit Money with a Rocker Dropper. (65%) Danny Doring and Roadkill defeated Diamond and Swinger to retain the ECW World Tag Team Titles.- A very successful tag team title defense after Diamond and Swinger beat the New Impact Players last month to warrant their shot. Doring and Roadkill worked together very well, although Doring appeared to physically injure his arm halfway through the match, which you would think would put them at a disadvantage, but the massive Roadkill was able to hold his own, and Doring was able to build up enough force for him and Roadkill to get the win, putting away Swinger with the Buggy Bomb. (70%) CW Anderson defeated the Blue Boy.- Wasn’t much of a match. The Blue Boy came out, alone, almost distraught that his beloved Jasmine wasn’t there. His opponent for the night was a very pissed off CW, who defeated him within 3 minutes with a Spinebuster. (63%) Rob Van Dam defeated Jerry Lynn to become the #1 Contender to the ECW World Heavyweight Title.-This might have been one of the best matches these two have ever had together. Lynn controlled the pace of the match, working on Van Dam’s leg. Van Dam was able to keep up, even if he was limping half of the match. Cyrus tried to get involved, but Fonzie prevented it. Lynn went for the Cradle Piledriver, but Van Dam sat up with him held and hit a Kryptonite Krunch as a counter! He then was able to climb the ropes and hit a Five Star Frog Splash to get the victory, and go on to face Sabu next month for the ECW World Title! (87%) Rhino defeated the Sandman.- You weren’t going into this match expecting Lou Thesz and Verne Gagne going 60 minutes in a mat classic. Sandman came out, smoking, drinking, with two Singapore Canes. Rhino entered with Cyrus and was actually tossed a cane by Sandman. These two started out just wailing on each other with Singapore Canes for the first couple of minutes, and it wasn’t long before tables were introduced, as well. Sandman took Rhino through a table in a corner with a White Russian Legsweep, but Rhino kicked out. Jerry Lynn got involved, using Sandman’s own Cane on him… although the cane shots didn’t do the damage Lynn had hoped, they did distract Sandman enough that Rhino was able to Gore him through a table from his blind spot! Then, under Cyrus’ commands, and with Lynn setting up the table, Rhino piledrove the Sandman off the second rope through a table for the win. After the match, Lynn and Rhino once again hit a Piledriver off the second rope, only this time with Lynn spiking him as well. Sandman was left in the ring bloodied and alone while Cyrus, Rhino, and Jerry Lynn celebrated. (78%)

TAAAAAAAAAKAAAAAAAA!!!!! <3 Cyrus The Virus... And pushing the Dragon is a good thing, although I know very little about Danielson.. But good job. I LOVE ASIANS! Marty Jannetty?!!!!?! Man, with Nova? Even sweeter, I'm glad that Marty picked up the victory for the team. <3 Doring & Roadkill, more Roadkill than Doring though.. Im glad they retained against The Swingin Diamonds eh... I can't keep Diamond/Swinger being Tag Team Champs, well, maybe... Aww Poor Blue Boy... But this mean streak in CW is awesome, CW FOR TV CHAMP! Ooo, Van Dam and Lynn?! Ooo, *creams* I love their matches, and I'm glad that RVD got the victory in the bag, and Sabu vs RVD? for the ECW World?! Ohhh! Alot of tables, chairs bound to be broken.. Oh, The Battle of Singapore Canes in the first minute? Sounds SWEET. Ah, Sandman got crushed big time... Damn Network.. But I love Rhyno though! That was really...ECW Realism... Great Job.

ECW Newsline April 18th, 2001
- We wanted to wait until we had confirmation on this, but Danny Doring tore his bicep at the last ECW Arena show and will be out until sometime after the new year. As he was one half of the tag team champions, those titles have been declared vacant.
- A 13 team tournament has been started to crown a new tag team champions, with 12 teams facing off for the right to face Roadkill and a partner of his choosing for the belts.
- Marty Jannetty was brought in on a one time basis, but the crowd responded well, and he's expected back at the very next show. He was originally brought up for the spot by none other than Shawn Michaels, who contacted the ECW Office last week. ECW is actually hoping to build a stronger relationship with Michaels, which would not include trying to sign Shawn, but rather using more of his students on the undercard.
- ECW has had some difficulties finding a TV deal, so they're going to attempt a new way to produce their product, as they will start running instead of once a month, every week from the ECW Arena.
- The next ECW event will take place May 5th. You will see the following matches: Sabu defends the ECW World Heavyweight Title against Rob Van Dam In first round tag team title tournament matches: Marty Jannetty & Nova vs. The F.B.I. vs. The Young Lions Kid Kash & Super Crazy vs. Hot Commodity vs. The Unholy Alliance Sandman & Tommy Dreamer vs. TAKA Michinoku & Juventud Guerrera vs. da Baldies Jerry Lynn & Rhino vs. AJ Styles & American Dragon vs. Simon Diamond & Swinger
All of this, and more!

Wow do I <3 this diary. Very ECW-Ish, which I love. I don't really like seeing Rhino drop the belt becuase he could have been a great "monster champ, but Sabu winning the title Is very Interesting, we'll have to see where It goes. Jannetty In ECW cool Idea I guees, RVD/Sabu should be good, poor to here about Roadkill, but the tag tourney should be good. As of right now, In my opinion this Is the best diary on the board.

May 5th, 2001 [/b][/i] Rob Van Dam is in the ring, and has a mic… he calls out Sabu and Sabu appears in the entranceway. RVD tells Sabu that 2 months ago, he stole RVD’s opportunity to become World Heavyweight Champion by getting involved in a match he had no business getting involved with. Well tonight, they might leave the fans with something they’ll never forget… not just the match of the year… but a new ECW World Heavyweight Champion. (67%) The F.B.I. defeated the Young Lions and Marty Jannetty and Nova in a 3 Way Dance.Opening match was a big showcase of high flying. Jannetty showed he wasn’t above getting hardcore, as he hit a big tope into the guardrail after Christian York moved out of the way! Nova ended up pinning Joey Matthews after a Kryptonite Krunch, making either the F.B.I. or Nova and Marty advancing to the finals. Unfortunately, Jannetty was still pretty loopy, so when Little Guido hit the Sicilian Slice it was all over for them, and F.B.I. are advancing to next week! (73%) The Unholy Alliance defeated Hot Commodity and Super Crazy and Kid Kash in a 3 Way Dance.-Another highflying tag three way, however, it wasn’t much of a three way match. The Alliance and Kash and Crazy collaborated, and within the first couple of minutes, after a big Whippersnapper on EZ Money, Hot Commodity was eliminated! Once it was down to the Unholy Alliance and Kid Kash and Super Crazy, the match seemed like it was on the up and up, but never trust your opponents more than you can throw them! Tajiri got the win for his team after spitting green mist right into the face of Kid Kash! (72%) The Sandman is in the ring, with Tommy Dreamer. Sandman said that last week, Jerry Lynn stuck his nose in his and Rhino’s business. Well, tonight, he’s got backup, he’s found the man to watch his back, and that’s Tommy Dreamer. (75%) Roadkill defeated CW Anderson. This was a pretty wild brawl, as CW Anderson brought all the aggression he’d been using the last few weeks, but Roadkill is definitely on a higher level than the Blue Boy, so that stuff didn’t work on him so well. The Angry Amish Chicken Plucker and the Enforcer went all over the ring, but Roadkill was able to come out on top with the Amish Splash. (71%) The Sandman and Tommy Dreamer defeated da Baldies and Juventud Guerrera and TAKA Michinoku in a 3 Way Dance.- A Wild and Crazy brawl that Juventud and TAKA seemed a little out of. But they managed to make it longer than da Baldies, who were gone after Tommy Dreamer hit a big DDT. Juventud and TAKA tried cheating, but it just didn’t seem to do all that much, and after a White Russian Legsweep onto TAKA, Tommy and the Sandman were through to next week! (68%) Jerry Lynn and Rhino defeated American Dragon and AJ Styles and Simon Diamond and Swinger in a 3 Way Dance. This was a technical showcase and the best tag team match all night. After Styles pinned Swinger following a Springboard Shooting Star Press, it was down to the underdog small men against the two former ECW World Champions, and they almost pulled it out too. The crowd was going insane at every pinfall, thinking they’d defeated the Raging Rhino and the New F’N Show! But it really wasn’t to be, when Rhino Gore’d Dragon and Lynn hit Styles with a Cradle Piledriver simultaneously, the pin was automatic, and Jerry Lynn and Rhino’s good news is they advance in the tournament… the bad news is next week, they have to face The Sandman and Tommy Dreamer! (76%) Sabu defeated Rob Van Dam to retain the ECW World Heavyweight Title. This was an absolutely insane main event that had the ECW Crowd on their feet. They started off with a feeling out process, before attempting some mat wrestling, but when that didn’t seem like it would work, Sabu went to brawling. He hit an Arabian facebuster early, but RVD was able to kick out. He took the advantage and went for a Triple Jump, but RVD got his knees up right into Sabu’s abdomen. RVD, sensing it was his time, went up to the top rope for the 5 star frog splash… and he hits it, but Sabu’s in the ropes! Van Dam goes outside to grab a chair, looking like he’s going to put him away with a Van Terminator… he sets up the chair and Sabu in the corner, goes up to the other rope and jumps… Sabu throws the chair and it nails RVD right in the head! OH MY GOD! Sabu grabs the chair and sets it up, and there’s the Triple Jump, for the pinfall! After the match, Sabu goes over to help RVD up, but… wait, whose that? That’s Justin Credible! He’s got that chair, and he lays out the ECW World Heavyweight Champion! Credible and Francine celebrate over the two fallen warriors! (83%)
