Once again, a crazy week in the history of Ring of Honor. With the television show "ROH Adrenaline" being the highest rated on Telecentro, scoring a great 2.5 rating, everybody in the company is extremly happy with the way the show is being recieved by fans. Onto some of the biggest news...
»ROH Adrenaline
This weeks ROH Adrenaline was, in some peoples opinions, the best Ring of Honor show of the year. Head booker since April, Mr. Sloper was said to be extremley pleased, especially with Colt Cabana and Ken Kennedy and their Pure championship match, which exceeded most people's expectations. It seems that Kennedy is intent on proving his worth as a seriously good wrestler. Also on the card, it was yet another solid, stellar and spectacular match from Bryan Danielson and Alex Shelley, who will both progress to Death Before Dishonor for a Pure title shot. In final news from the card, Steve Corino impressed a great many people in his match against AJ Styles. Not knowing how Corino's hard hitting style would blend with the high flying technique of Styles, yet another stellar match was presented.
»DEATH BEFORE DISHONOR
In what is already looking like an impressive card, many people are wondering who will make it on. Obviously, with a roster that is ROH size and the limited time to put on an event, many people cannot be used. The Three Way Dance for the Pure championship is looking to be an awesome match as Kennedy defends against Danielson and Shelley. At the moment, Kennedy seems likely to retain, as after that amazing match on ROH Adrenaline, management is wanting a Kennedy/Cabana fued. Also, there has been a lot of talk about the Ring of Honor World championship finally being decided. Steve Corino, Samoa Joe and AJ Styles are all names that have been thrown in, but at the risk of wearing out the novelty of a three way dance, it is believed that it is more likely to be a singles match. Chris Hero and Jay Briscoe impressed many people with their outstanding singles match, and now the Kings of Wrestling get too choose the stipulation. Expect a great match with some awesome action.
»MAJOR DIRECTION CHANGE
With Ring of Honor looking to become more mainstream, the amount of segments in shows and storyline development has increased. This is seen as necessary as storylines and rivalries are crucial to getting good matches and people invovled in the stories. Another thing that is cropping up is tag teams. When The Briscoes and the Kings of Wrestling are finished with their fued, a host of new challengers will be waiting, including a new pairing of Jimmy Yang and KENTA, which is set to be exciting, amongst other challengers. Also, in an attempt to get more stars over, the Jimmy Rave/Brent Albright situation is planned to have teams of four or five taking each other on, with Albright and Rave as captains. This match may take place at Death Before Dishonor or a later date, but it's yet more proof that ROH is really taking on a new vision.
