So I've noticed threads of the action figure variety have pretty much gone to the wayside since we got this here comic board. I thought I'd start this up, becuase I had a little story.
I went to Wal-Mart today, and as always, headed through the garden section because it's faster to get to the toys that way. So I got to the action figure aisle and saw one lone ML on the shelf: Nightcrawler. Then I looked down at the shelf below, where a "friendly" Wal-Mart employee had just cut the top of a box she was about to put on the pegs. I nearly gasped as I saw the words "Sentinel Series." So as not to be a complete jackass and wait there while she unloaded the box, I went to the DVD section and picked up the TNA 3-PPV set for $20. When I returnedto the toys, there were 3 brand new, un-touched cases worth of Sentinel Series. And not a variant amongst them. Strangely, there were 5 Mystiques, so there's apparently 3 different case packs, which alternate having 2 figs of Omega Red, Mystique and Sinister, with only 1 of the other two.
I left the store without a single Legend, as the previous day at Target (where I work), we had gotten in a variant case, from which I purchased the two variants and a Mystique. I have Angel & Spidey on hold at the LCS, and the owner swears he's getting another case in from which I'll get a Sinister, and I have the rest already.
I've actually got another point to this thread. Since I bought the variants, I have an extra left leg and left(?) arm. Since I'm buying an extra Omega Red and Mystique, I'll have a few extra crotches. And I might buy another Cyclops for an origianl X-Men custom, and another BP for a Shocker custom. I could see myslef getting a Siniser for an AOA variant, but I really don't want to buy a second Spidey. That leaves me with 2 left arms, 1 right arm, 3 crotches, 1 left leg, and possibly 1 right leg.
So I'm proposing a Sentiel piece swap program. Anyone feel free to post what parts they need and what parts they have extras of. If anyone matches up, we can swap.
For starters:
I have: 1 crotch piece
I need: 1 torso piece
I'll add more as I accumulate more. Any takers?

I wish I could have been that lucky. I only have Black Panther, Angel, Cyclops, and Mystique at the moment. I want to complete my Sentinel so bad.

Sounds like you found one of the PDQ cases. They're exclusive to Walmart, and have more than 12 figures in them. But no variants. There should've been a cardboard display for them to sit in.

The case I saw definitely had 12 figures in it. As I said, the employee had just cut the top off of the box. Thanks for the info though.

Hmmm...I can't explain the five Mystiques then. I still need Sinister, Red, and Mystique myself. Chances are, I'll find them when ML 11 starts to hit.

I've only found 1 variant and that was Cyke. The swapping program sounds cool, I don't think anyone would want another Spidey though. Mine's already broken twice.

The local Target here in MA use to have a sign stating that fact but it was taken down. Employees have NO right to buy before the customer but I am sure you could care less...

Isn't Toybiz going to release the Sentinel on it's own? I read at TNI news that they were.

I didn't even know we had them until they were out on the shelves, meaning everyone who doesn't work at Target had an equal chance to get them.

At least you have the opportunity to complete your Sentinel! If I hadn't stopped collecting ML's I would have never even finished building Galactus! They're so scarce in Houston. I HATE IT!

I have the entire series, but only the variants of Cyke and Angel - not the originals. Once I get more money I'd like to buy the regulars and keep the variants in the package, plus have my Sentinel.

I just picked up my first ever ML figures today, Cyclops(non-varient, obviously), Omega Red, Spider-Man, and Mr. Sinister. Now I have the bug, and I need to finish that kick ass Sentinel. I really do like these things Oh, they are on sale this week at Target for $6.20. I don't know what the normal price is, so I don't know how good a sale that is.

Spider-Man sucks. His joints are weird His leg fell off the bottom knee joint. If it weren't for the fact that he's simply a display piece, I'd take him back. But the last thing I need to do is get caught sitting in my room having a showdown between Hulk Hogan and Spider Man.....

I was actually REALLY happy with Spidey after I fixed his webbing. I think I might like the sculpt even more than the McFarlane one.

I'm sure if his lower leg didn't fall off three seconds after opening it, I'd have been more pleased with him. But, like I said, I popped his leg back on, put him in the little flying base thing, and none's the wiser. The only part of the sculpt I don't really like is his fingers.

Kind of off topic but I left a ML9 green Hulk and smiling Bullseye on the pegs today at Toys R Us. I have the feeling that someone found someone elses stash because those were the only two Marvel Legends on the pegs at all.
Has ML11 hit anywhere in the US yet?

Not outside of comic shops. They got some the same time as ML10, but only a handful of cases got out.
I plunked down $6.20 for another Spider-man today so I could build another Sentinel. Now I just need another left leg (Sinister, which I should get from my LCS) and right arm (Black Panther). If anyone wants to trade a crotch for a right arm, let me know.
