Im sitting here thinking, Why is tna doing this. I started watching tna cuz it had great pro-wrestling..... If I wanted to watch mma I would. Pro wrestling should be seprate. Mixing the two just makes MMA look pre-determined aswell.
If kurt want to fight MMA style, leave TNA and go to ufc!

Yeah, because it's so stupid to bring something into wrestling that's popular. Yup.. terrible

Yeah, because it's so stupid to bring something into wrestling that's popular. Yup.. terrible I've gotta be honest here, SG. Is there a SINGLE thing that TNA does that you don't agree with? Really, this is clearly something the fans of WRESTLING don't wanna see. And with TNA being "We are wrestling" and our "alternative to the WWE"... you'd think they'd give us just that, wrestling. But yet, you find a positive out of it and to be honest... i'm not sure why. - Triple S

I don't even see how there is a positive in this situation... All it looks like is TNA piggy backing on something that is riding the wave of popularity at the moment. It's like the Pacman thing... he was this big deal because it was a Football player who recently got a huge suspension so TNA rides Pacman's wave of popularity... why don't they just create their own wave?

Let me get this straight.... Vince brings in celebrities or somehow incorperates popular culture into his shows and he's a genius, TNA does it and they're a piggybacking, bush league fed? I love how the blind WWE marks here will swallow all the crapthe McMahon machine throws at them, while attacking anyone who defends TNA. Sure it sucks right now, but the WWE has sucked since 2001, why is no one calling them on it?

When did he praise McMahon anywhere in the quote above? And besides that, Vince never put his new tag team belts on K-Fed or Mayweather and doesn't incorporate a baseball player match every six months.

Are you seriously comparing Floyd Mayweather (someone with no apparent personal problems at the moment) to Pacman Jones (someone who's facing felony charges for a shooting at a strip club in addition to all the craphe's done before)?

Actually.....this is TNA attempting to give Wrestling more of a real feel...something you people have been bitching about for how long...
This is a smart decsion in some places because it cross promotes fans and can give a new alternative to wrestling for those who have never seen it and would like to see mma
I like it and there is a rumor floating around that Frank Trigg is going to be involved...i love it

I was not happy with the UFC thing, only becasue Kurt's done it now in two shows in a row. Look, if you want to display Kurts versatility then that's fine but distinguish it. Last week Kurt shoulda showed his skills in MMA style, maybe this week in amateur wrestling, next week in Jujitsu or something. But not every week. For ptes sake Joe and ANgle are having a wrestling match in a wrestling promotion are they not? OR distinguish Kurt's training from Joe's ala Rocky 5. the buildup for this match has really been porrly done and it only has any heat becasue they actually showed Joe last night and Kurt is really focused and appears to be an unstoppable machine. However, TNA need to do a better job distinguishing their storylines when it pertains to a match like the main event.

I'm not a MMA fan by no means but the whole thing is making me want to head over to Movie Gallary right now and rent some of the shows they have. MMA is more popluar than wrestling and if TNA brings in a "MMA" feel (Basically, a more serious/real feel like you've been wanting) then maybe MMA fans will tune in therefore ratings go up, therefore buy rates go up, therefore ticket sales go up, threefore TNA grows.

The last comment from SG further shows that NO MATTER WHAT TNA does, he will support it.
I'm seriously thinking about no longer watch TNA and just reading spoilers instead. That way I can not waste 2 hours of my life, but rather 2 minutes.
EDIT: And this would all be fine and make sense, if Angle and Joe were to compete at Lockdown in a "MMA" style match... but they aren't.

It's just 'cause Angle thinks he could beat all these UFC fighters and whatever the hell else he's been saying for like two years now, and because he never puts any balls behind his words and follows through with any of his claims, he probably just had TNA throw together this "MMA" style match so Joe can job to him and Kurt can play UFC fighter for a few minutes.
Meh to it all. Like the original poster said, if I wanted to watch MMA, I would. "We Are Wrestling"? Then give us some damn wrestling, not intelligence-insulting psuedo-"shoot fights".

and tna sucking has nothing to do with wwe sucking... Not true. If TNA ups their game to the point that people take notice, WWE will have no choice but to improve. WWE will continue to coast until the competition gets better. Therefore, a subpar TNA will result in a continued subpar WWE.

The MMA flavor is what made 2001 through 2003 such an amazing period for WWE... Brock Lesnar, Kurt Angle, Eddie Guerrero, Chris Benoit, Chris Jericho, RVD, etc... go back and watch WWE's style of wrestling then and compare it now... it was hard hitting, it was quick, it didn't look choreographed and the excitement/intensity was there. MMA influence, if used correctly, isn't about bland fighter A vs. bland fighter B testing eachothers standup game before taking it to the ground... it's about making every wrestler's workrate and athleticism just as important as the characters they're portraying... if TNA is going for the latter, guys like Booker T, Black Reign, Rellik, Scott Steiner, etc. should start to disappear.

If WWE was doing it would I would say the same thing. Seriously, TNA is damned if they do and damned if they don't. You people bitch "OMG THEY HAVE TO MUCH COMEDY" and now they're doing a "more serious" build and you bitch? Can you say hypocrite.
