Last night at UWA Hardcore, Jimmy Olsen suffered a serious concussion at the hands of Ricky Reyes. Reyes delivered a really really stiff kick to the back of the head, pinned Olsen and won the match. Afterwards, his body got very stiff and he was drooling, it was a very scary sight, Dunn and Marcos ran out to help, as did a few UWA staff members.
Site Admin Ross Powers posted the following,
"Jimmy Olsen was legitimately knocked out. After the match he seemed fine but as the show ended he became very dizzy and started seeing stars. We drove him to the hospital where doctors said he had a serious concussion. Hopefully he’ll be fine in the next couple days. We’ll keep you updated."
Hopefully he'll be okay, as I personally think he's a solid worker.

To Ricky Reyes: Uncle Jesse is coming for you!
It's kind of a side effect of this whole new ridiciously stiff wrestling stuff. These guys aren't making that much money. There's NO REASON to be going out there and legitimately killing each other and kicking people's heads off.

There's NO REASON to be going out there and legitimately killing each other and kicking people's heads off. To be honest, I'm not sure why UWA keeps booking Reyes. Sure he's a decent worker, but for the majority of his matches the crowd dies. I also don't like the rediciously stiff stuff, I mean it's good if it's stiff, but when you're knocking someone out, thats too hard, not safe at all. |

I think that Ryes should be kicked out, and they should keep Olsen, as this will just come back maybe even worst to someone else.

Remember the whole Low-Ki/Maff knockout thing in ROH? It was an accident problay, I don't see Reyes actually trying to knock Olsen out. craphappens in wrestling.

I don't think he did it intentionally, but he had the I don't even give a craplook on his face, either way I'm not a Reyes fan, and for the safety of the UWA workers I wouldn't bring him back. |

Dude, it's not like he knew Jimmy had a concussion after he kicked him. If he knocked him out, he isn't gonna break character. It's happened before....
You know....craphappens in wrestling like I said. It's not Reyes fault the way I see it, but it happens. I'm sure Reyes isn't thrilled by it, but its part of wrestling.
You think Reyes is bad, think about how Brandom Thomaselli broke two people's jaws in the past year. He didn't do it intentionally obviously, and the workers don't take it personal. They know what they are getting themselves into, working Strong Style. They know what the consequences are. Chill out man, it's not like Reyes is the first person to give a person a concussion..

Another reason why Ricky Reyes is terrible. I was on a board and people were saying how pumped they were that Ricky Reyes was coming to their indy. My favorite quote was, "I think we got the better half of the Havana Pitbulls". Now how much stock do you put in that? A dull Ricky Reyes that has less charisma than my left arm and couldn't get over in front of a swarm of Ricky Reyes fans. Rocky Romero was by far the better half of that team. Romero's in ROH and Reyes isn't. Now I don't want to sound stupid and make it sound like, "if you're in ROH, you're the best of the best". But there's a difference in the quality. And you expect the top quality wrestlers in ROH, because that's what they strive for. Do you think it's a coincidence that Rocky Romero works major indies like ROH, PWG and tours NOAH? Or that Ricky Reyes works in bum ville? |

I wasn't debating his talent, i'm just saying Olson knew what he was doing, and it was one of those crappy accidents that sometime happen, especially in strong style type matches and workers.
I do agree Rocky is much better. I mean, you can obviously see he's looked at as much more talented. ...and he is Black Tiger IV for christ's sake.
