Today's figure comes from series 5, of Marvel Legends   Surfer here comes with his trademark board, which he grips onto, thanks to magnets on the bottom of his feet. Surfer originally came with Howard the Duck, though later on, Howard was pulled. Surfer is one of the more underrated Marvel Legends in my opinion. Not a bad figure by any means, but again, overpacked. |

They pulled Howard? I never heard about that.
I thought Surfer was a good figure, except the neck/shoulder area sculpt was horrendous. His board and base are perfect, and the magnets was a very cool idea.

His board and base are perfect, and the magnets was a very cool idea. I said pulled, and just should have said removed. For some reason, later version of Surfer came without Howard. I don't know why, since Howard was one of the main selling points. |

I could do without Howard, so if that version will be cheaper for me, I'd go with it. I need surfer eventually.

I hate those huge  ing shoulder joints that debuted with that Surfer. Other then that, he is an excellent figure and Howard the Duck made purchasing him that much better. |

A little fact here, that figure was the first with that bodymold. That body mold was also used on the ML 6 Deadpool and the ML 8 Iceman.

ML8 Iceman was based off the new Black Costume Spider-man, the one with the hang-glider. The Surfer does seem to be the base for Archangel, Vision and Angel, with a modified upper body.

I could do without Howard, so if that version will be cheaper for me, I'd go with it. I need surfer eventually. The price isn't any cheaper... all Marvel Legends are the same price (Unless in a comic store). This is an ok figure but it pretty much sucks compared to some of the newer Legends. It does look awesome next to the Giant Galactus though. |

If you ever go to Island of Adventure in Orlando Florida check out all their stores and carts... I picked up tons of rare Marvel Legends and for me, as I'm used to the high UK prices, for a grea price. Silver Surfer Black Costume Spider-Man Mecha Hulk etc, |

I was thinking yesterday about how we could ever get a new Silver Surfer (as he has no variation posibilities really), and it finally dawned on me. Defenders box set!
Dr. Strange (new Kevin Maguire-inspired head sculpt)
Hulk (new head on any of a number of Hulk bodies)
Silver Surfer (using the Vision body)
Namor (in green speedos)
Dormammu, or maybe Hellcat or Valkyrie
How sweet would that be?

I'd buy a Defenders set. As for Hulk, it would probably just be a FA Green Hulk, with a new head.
