Shellhead comes from the very first series of Marvel Legends. He has special meaning to me, because he was the first Marvel Legend I ever purchased. There have been many Iron Man figures in ML. An all blue stealth and a gold variant of this one in ML 1, a retooled version of this one in the Silver Centurion ML 7 version, a modern armor version in ML 8, another retooled version of this figure in the ML 9 War Machine, and recently the Hulkbuster Iron Man in ML 11. This version however, is his most iconic, and in my opinion, still the best version of the character we've gotten. From time to time, this figure will show up in Walmart "Best of" cases, so if you happen to see him, I suggest getting it.

Sweet. I like that one. I've said it before: I wish I had gotten into to ML sooner. Maybe I'll get lucky someday and find some older ones in overstock over at Wal-Mart that doesn't seem to sell anything, or Rite-Aid that still has BCA Series 9...... rip Sasha karma plz.

Like I said, Walmart best of cases seem to be the most common way he shows up. Once in a blue moon, KB will have some.

When I think of Iron Man, that is what I think of. Not Hulkbuster, not whatever other crapvariant they can throw out. When I decide to start my ML Collection, I am getting one Iron Man. That one. Thats the way the character is supposed to look

KB would be all well and good, if we had one I really do need to hop on up to Walmart, it's been 5 years since I've been to it......

Lucky. Besides the paint, the only real difference is the mask, right?

Lucky. Besides the paint, the only real difference is the mask, right? Yeah, it's pointed at the top. I think the gold just looks better and more authentic. The yellow to me kind of looks cheesy. Great display piece.

Thats one of my favorite ML figures, I love the removable mask and just about everything about it, the one thing I dislike is the ab articulation, I dont like that style of it

I think I actually like the Modern Armor Iron Man better, but that could be because the culpteing is so much better in the later series of Ml than the early ones. If the re-did the classic armor, I'd be all over that. But I just don't think the sculpting in ML1 was nearly as good as even the second series and beyond.
BTW, Iron man looks a lot cooler if you cut out the eye and mouth holes on the maks instead of having them painted black. It's sweet to look through the mask and actually have Tony's eyes looking out at you.

I bought the "Best of" Iron Man, but then discovered he had two left hands, so I returned it.
