I just picked up issue #1 yesterday and was wondering if there was anyone else interested in this title.I have been out of the comics loop (well new comics anyway) for about 3 months or so.The only reason I picked up this one is simply because it intruiged me.I had heard nothing about it previously and the guy at the shop did'nt know anything about it either. The book struck me as a dark comedy of sorts, but it certainly is very twisted and morbid. So I am curious as to how the die hard fans are reacting to this strange series.

I've yet to get this mini but I have it on preorder as I think Kirkman is an amazing writer (Check out the current volume Marvel Team Up for a real old school fun read!).
I can't wait to get this issue in a week. From what I've heard it's a good book but no where near as good as Kirkman's other Zombie book published under Image called "Walking Dead" which is one of the best Zombie books ever. If you did enjoy Marvel Zombies I'd try checking out the TPBs of Walking Dead.

I thought it was very humorous. I'm definitly going to pick up the rest of the series... Zombie superheroes: Too cool!
Edit: And yeah Walking Dead was phenomenal! But Marvel Zombies isn't the same context as Walking Dead... this is just Superheroes waking up one day and realizing they're zombies

The Marvel Zombie world was first seen in the Crossover arc of Ultimate fantastic Four, where Ulitmate Reed was tricked into making a dimensional teleporter by Zombie Reed so the zombies could enter the Ultimate Universe. The Zombie FF are now imprisoned in the Baxter Building in UFF.
Marvel Zombies is a continuation of the story of the zombified Marvel heroes. It's absolutely nothing like The Walking Dead, which is probably a good thing. Not to say TWD is bad (it's probably one of the top titles being published today), but copying it into a Marvel setting would be a recipe for disaster. Marvel Zombies is a lot closer to Kirkman's Battle Pope in tone. "Dark humor" is a good description. Here's another...what if Formerly Known As The Justice League starred a bunch of soulless zombies? That's the series in a nutshell.

I guess I am gonna have to pick up the 'walking dead" title. It seems to have got some good reviews.I really was'nt sure what I was gonna think about this Marvel Zombie series, but if it continues in the vein of issue#1 ,then i am gonna have to call it a winner. Its a little premature for that i know.....but I was suprised by how entertaining a read this was.I suppose the fact that its so far out there puts it into a different light. Its heavy in some aspects...you know if you over-analyze the fact that characters you know are being eaten........but also just so silly in other ways that you have to chuckle.Hopefully the rest of the series does'nt fizzle out.

I wish Land did the art for this, as his zombies were much more ugly. But Kirkman+Zombies=winner. It does have some dark humor, and had some nice gross outs, not to mention I like when Magneto's superiority complex can be used in a good guy setting, or at least as an anti-hero. And the introduction of Norrid Radd is a nice bit of genious. I also like the fact that they get a moment or two of clarity after being all out zombies to gather their senses. I wonder if the UFF will figure that one out.
The biggest mystery is who is left on the Asteroid M. We can go by the UFF issues and cross of who ISNT (most of the X-Men, most of the major heroes. I cant recall...did Dr. Strange get zombified?
I hope we see some more zombified characters. Really this is a story to run wild with. And I hope we get more zombie covers of classic issues.

I haven't read anything in probably about a year and a half and when I did it was mostly just the Ultimate stuff. I acquired this for the hell of it not really knowing what it was and I must admit I loved it. I'm kind of disappointed that Magneto was taken out so early into the comic, but I loved how his overconfidence and arrogance basically lead to his demise. Such a great first issue for the mini-series and I'll probably go back and acquire the UFF titles that lead up to it. I love this shot.
