Figured I'd start up a little discussion over the stuff that will be coming up here in the near future.

Boston, MA- April 11th

So I'll admit I've never seen much of this Ibushi, is he as good as Gabe is cracking him up to be? And if you've seen Proving Ground, you should be pumped for Steen/Necro II.

More MCMG ROH goodness. And does Tag Wars means it's going to be a all tag team matches show...or Trios Tourney? Because remember Tag Wars 2006 in Dayton was the trios tourney. But with the way the card has shaped up so far, it looks like it's going to be all tag team matches. Neat little concept I guess.

It was half-assed at best as far as being a tournament, since there were only 4 teams involved. This show looks like it's going to be a show full of tag matches.

I'm excited for the Edison show. Nigel/Steen, Strong/Necro & Aries/Ibushi should all be pretty good.

Chicago is also looking really good so far. Hopefully the Briscoes/MCMG is better than the last one which was so damn overrated. The match was like 35 minutes long and if you fast forward all the way to 30 minutes you wouldn't of missed a thing. I have no problem with a lot of the big offense coming in at the end but don't make the entire match boring. Also it felt like the MCMG were working a very slow pace and one of the things that makes them exciting is how quick they are.

I knew somebody was gonna bring that up so let me explain. Most of my favorite matches ARE slow matches. HBK/Flair this Sunday was slow. HBK/Bret at WM 12 was slow. Homicide/Ki at JAPW's 10th Anniversary was slow.

The MCMG are known as guys who are quick and they looked to be going half speed.

Not even their signature moves that aren't even close to credible finishers happened in the first 25-30 minutes.

The Briscoes & the MCMG just aren't known for working that kind of match. It made both teams less exciting.

I am going to the 4/19 show in Chicago. I got tickets before MCMG were signed and before the tickets went 30% off... so they are good seats.

One question though. Why exactly is every match featuring a Japanese wrestler who MOST wrestling fans have not heard of a Dream Match?

I tend to think the same thing. Sometimes I get the feeling that people think, "oh, they're from Japan, they MUST be an awesome wrestler!" But there's times where they do just as agood a job and maybe sometimes lesser of a job in the ring as one of the regulars. In particular I enjoyed some of the Morishima/Dragon matches. But before coming to the US and winning the ROH title, Morishima was a mid-carder at best in NOAH. I thought at times he was a bit sloppy in the ring and didn't do much for me. It was a perfect example in my opinion of "oh it's a Japanese guy, he must be good". Now if Gabe is saying this Ibushi guy is "like a Sabu in his innovative moves" does that mean we're going to get alot of moonsaults and blown spots? Or maybe the quadruple jump moonsault?

What makes it worse is Dream Matches where the opponent is To Be Decided. How do you know it's a Dream Match before there is an opponent? And really, how messed up are Gabe's dreams if he sees a random Japanese wrestler and a faceless ROH wrestler?

ROH will never know how to use Hero right. Even though he gets the biggest pop at the last few shows I've been to with the exception of Dragon he still ends up in a ton of filler matches while Stevens is pushed all because he's buddies with the booker.

Nothing listed for Detroit. I figured despite the cost cutting, champions would still be on shows. I know Go & Dragon are in NOAH so they would save money there. Although, it does say "Plus much more to be signed" so who knows.

From what I understand everyone is gonna be sitting out for a show here or there. Nigel sat out for the shows at the beginning of January because of a NOAH tour. Dragon and Go are currently sitting out because of a NOAH tour. I don't think the NRC are booked anywhere else so I guess ROH is just saving money on three fly ins. Two from the West Coast. It's possible they will be on the show though. It don't mention Jacobs & Black for Chicago either but they are on the Detriot so maybe they just didn't update the list.

The AOTF is listed for Chicago. Its Black/Jacobs/Matthews VS. The Vulture Squad in a 6 man. But you might be right about them saving money on the other 3. But as far as Jacobs & Black go, they both live semi-close to Chicago so they would drive.
