It does? Rap is awesome. Aside from people like Soulja Boy and people like him. Its much better than crappy rock music. I don't want to start a war, but what talent do you need to rap exactly? Honest question. Not even can actually rap per say. Not everyone can put together lyrics and string them together.

Lol at the guy who said "what is so hard about being a rapper."
idiot.
Anyways it all comes with the demeanor, delivery, presence, hunger in your voice, how well your able to paint a picture with your words, and just your flow. period.
Atmosphere is alright...never been a big fan.. but I just haven't been into music at all lately. Too much of the same s*** circulating around right now...

Kliq, go listen to Talib Kweli then tell me rap sucks. I like Talib Kweli - I saw them (and Atmosphere) at Vegoose '05. I'm not saying that I hate rap music, but rather that a lot of it completely sucks as of late.

Atmosphere, CunninLinguists, Edan, and Jedi Mind Tricks are about the only rap/ hip/hop artists I like. "God Loves Ugly" is such a great album and I will definitely be picking this new album up. Thanks for the heads up.

I don't want to start a war, but what talent do you need to rap exactly? Honest question. Can You Do This I learned the alphabet in kindergarten. If that was free style I would be impressed. Most of the stuff I hear is a cluster of incomplete sentences and any word that rhymes with the previous. Sandman, I just asked for a answer not an attitude.

Listen to Andre Legacy and Mickey Avalon. If you can. They are great. And if you have a chance to catch a live show you will be entertained to no end my friend.

Sick Jacken is okay, and so are Total Strangaz (RD: Raphael Diaz and The Rising Sun) as far as current day rappers. But I will def. go out on a limb and say main stream rap SUCKS completely, and alot of underground rap at that. I like different shit, not the same old "booty, money, gang bangin" bullshit. Plus, half of those "gang bangers" are nothing but pussies. Real rappers like Tupac and EZ would tear them mother ers apart. Artistic rap is good, and rap about struggling on the streets from people who ACTUALLY experienced it (Sorry 50 Cent fans, Mansions and F-50's and struggling) will go over raps with catchy choruses, phat beats, money, and sluts anyday.

John Mayer fans can't say any music sucks. If you don't think John Mayer is a GREAT guitar player, you have no idea what you're talking about. Sorry bud. Why don't you go make another screenname, get deleted/banned/whatever, and come back again? I'm sure it's a lot of fun.

He's far from a great guitar player, he's insanely overrated, just like John Frusciante and Jack White. It's hilarious to see people and magazines overrate them. And saying most mainstream rap music sucks is true with just about any genre, almost all the rock music thats popular is complete crapjust like with rap. And for every rapper whose just doing it for the money and woman theres a rock band doing the same thing. It just comes down to what you can tolerate more, do you wanna hear Soulja Boy or Dance Dance?

To even write rhymes is difficult. why bother explaining if you aint ever gonna understan Andre 3000 kills any of yall favo rapper

It puts a lot of strain on your vocal chords, and is hard to keep that style for a long time. Not saying rapping doesn't take skill, just saying. It's a lot harder to scream than talk. Especially for the ones who are good at it.

He's far from a great guitar player, he's insanely overrated, just like John Frusciante and Jack White. /me yawn. Yes, because YOUR opinion is much more relevant than the people who actually, you know, MAKE A CAREER IN MUSIC. Either way, this discussion isn't about John Mayer. And for every rapper whose just doing it for the money and woman theres a rock band doing the same thing. It just comes down to what you can tolerate more, do you wanna hear Soulja Boy or Dance Dance? Most rock music sucks, too -- but there doesn't seem to be nearly as much "hate" on rock music as there is on rap music. The reason I titled this topic the way I did is to *hopefully* get a few people to see this song who wouldn't otherwise have given it a chance.
