DOnt know how many of you read Batgirl, but in the last issue (#72) it ended with the apparent death of Batgirl. She got stabbed by her half borther Mad Dog, who then got shot. Shiva at the end is making an attempt to save her, and it ends with Batgirl and Spoiler talking, making it seem as though Batgirl is dead. Also, #73 is the last issue of Batgirl as there is no #74 anytime soon. There is the posiblilty of the use of the nearby lazurus pit (which is man-made but not finished but was used to bring Mr. Freeze's wife back). However it does appear that she will be dieing.
Also the upcoming RObin comics seem to have the theme of Robin trying to clear his name as a suspect of a murder of one of Batman's allies, and the cover has a reference to Batgirl making it seem as though this allie is Batgirl.
I have really been enjoying the Batgirl comic, and her death would seem to be unexpected and not really that hyped up. I am sort of shocked if they will go through with it.

I read the first 40 or so comics, but I preferred her when she couldn't talk.
Cool character regardless though.

The title got the ax, but then again, there will be a new Catwoman One Year Later...one who knows the streets of Gotham.

I JUST started reading Batgirl and last Thursday set up a subscription to the title at my local comic shop. Everything I read from DC seems to be limited runs or ending. |

Unless she dyes it. But I doubt it. I didnt know they were going to have a NEW Catwoman. Guess Selena will become bad once again. Anyway, rumors are Barbara will regain the use of her legs after IC and return to the mantle of Batgirl (and with it looking like Batman will leave more of his suspicious paranoia in the past, her role as Oracle might become useless anyway). But there's SO much conflicting info about post-IC DCU that its hard to keep up. I also liked it more when she couldnt talk. |

After thumbing through my issue 72, it certainly looks like she is dead. That sucks, I was actually liking her book.

I wonder what happens in 73? They say it's "the end of Batgirl". She looks very dead. I wonder where they are going with this. I don't keep up with Batgirl that much. Kim  |
