I scarcely collected GI Joe as a kid, like literally maybe 5-10 figures, and seeing Snake Eyes last week got me excited for this line, but I'm not so sure about Scarlet and Roadblock. I think a picture surfaced of Duke also, can't find it now.

how are you gonna create a 6" line of GI Joe.....and then just make sh*t up as you go along what the are those things New line = new designs for figures. All the people who have been clamoring for 6" Joes for years will still buy. Then, Hasbro will deliver the classic looks in later waves. A lot of toylines do this.

GI Joe has been a dead brand for like a decade. Those new movies were mostly trash and killed all the fun/uniqueness of the stuff we grew up with. Everything late 80's/early 90's is mega-hot right now. because all of us in our 35-40 range are old enough to buy everything we want and most of us had our parents get rid of our old toys/collectibles when we were kids
so Hasbro is like "we should make a 6" GI Joe line to capitalize on the popularity of everything 90's"
rumors were swirling and everyone who collected the 3 3/4" figures was going nuts thinking we could finally join the ranks and get amazing new figures with the iconic looks and characters we loved
so instead they are like "lets create a whole new look based on nothing so kids will buy them!"
makes no sense. none.
kids would buy them regardless, parents who loved the originals would buy them for their kids. this excuse of "oh well we are trying to market to children" has no merit. of course these are toys for children, but the world has changed, kids arent going to toy stores looking for figures the way we did when we were young. and if there is nothing to connect it to (comics, movies, tv shows, youtube videos) no kid is going to be walking through the aisles of Walmart and say "mommy! buy me that $20 figure of a guy with a huge rail gun!"

Well that is a let down. Call me when they produce the classic figures if the line is still going.

Roadblock and Scarlett look like crap compared to Snake Eyes. Their outfits just look jarring with a mishmash of colours that don't flow together at all. Very little amount of accessories compared to Marvel Legends as well! Roadblack should at least have an extra head with an angry/mean expression. His current head looks so dull and uninspiring while his gun looks like something out of Quake/Unreal Tournament. When I read rumours of the line going to have the character designs similar to their classic looks but more modernized I was thinking they'd do something like the following: I hope the line lasts long enough so that we can get more familiar designs that are more faithful to the characters and don't look so futuristic.

Duke looks pretty cool. He was my favorite Joe back in the day. So far he looks to be similar enough to the classic look with some minor differences. Not sure if I want to go to deep or just cherry pick the ones I like. Can't wait to see what they show today.

Soo.... The ONLY thing stopping me from collecting was scale and anime accuracy. I hope they dont do what Mattel did give us an expansive line just to turn around and do Anime accurate. Id rather save my money.

The other 3 Joes are up for pre order on Pulse. Or will be in 15 mins if you’re not premium.

The GI Joe segment of the Hasbro panel did nothing to inspire confidence. Sounds like this "modern" take is the direction they're going for this line.
Their portion was far less organized than any other segment, and the brand manager said he had only been on the product for two weeks. Given the job Hasbro has done on their other 6in lines, this just feels like a hot mess. More money for AEW figures, I guess.

Yeah, from what we've seen so far, I'm not jumping in like I expected. I may cherry pick here n there. Snake Eyes looks good. But the other 3 are meh.

Given the job Hasbro has done on their other 6in lines, this just feels like a hot mess. More money for AEW figures, I guess. It was embarrassing to say the least! As soon G.I. JOE was announced there were loud cheers from the Audience. Snake Eyes mentioned and shown on the projector - More loud cheers. Then Roadblock & Scarlett shown - Barely any reaction.. It was so lacklustre I couldn't actually believe what I was seeing or hearing. This was supposed be the long awaited BIG comeback of G.I. JOE and it was without a doubt the worst presentation of Hasbro's entire conference. The two idiots on stage even said something along the lines of 'Now that you've seen some of the JOE members, you want to see some of the Cobra members, right?' (audience get excited) only for one of the dweebs to say they won't be revealing any of them! I didn't notice myself but apparently one of the presenters was wearing a Transformers t-shirt even though he was supposed to be promoting G.I. JOE.. Disappointed is an understatement!

Yeah, I think the lead designer was the one in the Transformers shirt. The brand manager made some kind of bad joke that he doesn't get a free shirt, and needs to go on Pulse to buy one.
Doesn't seem like they have their A team on this, or really even anyone familiar with the property. It feels like a half hearted money grab.
For a line that was known for its oodles of accessories, it's a joke to put out figures that have half the accessories of your own company's offerings in similar lines. Especially when you own the IP, aka no licensing fees taking a cut of the profits.

I definitely would have preferred the classic looks, but I don’t mind the redesigns on these. It would be cool if they do something like with the retro Marvel and Star Wars with a throwback style card and we get classic designs.
I don’t love the more sci-fi style weapons, but Duke and Scarlet’s are passable. Roadblock’s “gun” is unforgivable. I’ll definitely be switching them out with other weapons.
My biggest disappointment was that they didn’t show any other figures. I was hoping to at least see two full waves.

The guns that came with the old Toys R Us True Heroes line are better suited for 6" figures than 4" figures. Those big missile launchers that came with Rise of Cobra figures would also be better purposed for these 6" Joes.
