Sorry for the double post but I just thought of a question for everyone who doesn't like Cowboy Bebop: What do you think of Space Dandy? More tolerable. Not a top 20 fave, but solid. Anyone ever get around to watching Freezing or Haganai? Haganai is one of the funniest things I have ever seen. XD

Started watching Gurren Lagann, and I have to say that I'm really enjoy it so far. What happened on the 8th episode took me by surprise since I didn't expect what did happen, to occur.

Yeah, Bebop is aimed for adults but I'll tell ya, the reason I don't include Evangelion is because you're actually the first person I've heard bring it up in well over a year. I've heard Bebop at least once every other week or something. XD Oh yeah, Bebop is definitely more popular than Evangelion but popular =/= polarizing. Evangelion is still the more polarizing show. That would be me. If the rest of the show was as good as that, I easily would of finished it. I hear the show gets so much better, but it's hard to pick it back up with so many other shows I need to finish. And yeah, the Otheworld tournament was actually a lot of fun to watch. I enjoyed it. It does get so much better, pretty much all my favorite episodes from Bebop come from the last third. There are a few exceptions like Ballad of Fallen Angels but most of them are in that last eight episodes stretch pretty much (though, my least favorite episode is there too, Boogie Woogie Feng Shui). That said though, I do think the show's peak is the cathedral/falling scene from Ballad of Fallen Angels. Still probably my favorite scene in anime. But it's episodic & there are tons of great anime out there, so I can understand why you haven't followed through. I definitely think it's worth it if you liked that episode. Sorry for the double post but I just thought of a question for everyone who doesn't like Cowboy Bebop: What do you think of Space Dandy? Can people who liked Cowboy Bebop answered? Space Dandy was great & easily one of the most constantly creative anime I've ever seen. The zombie episode alone is proof of that in my opinion. The main problem with Space Dandy was that because of the creative freedom allowed, the episodes ended up pretty uneven. My favorite episode is one called "A World with No Sadness, Baby". The episode was breath-takingly beautiful, with some of the most gorgeous imagery I've ever seen complimented perfectly by an outstanding score that transcended it into atmospheric art. The story itself lent it to this too, while not phenomenal, it's well-written with a good amount of subtly that leaves the conclusion ultimately up to the viewers own personal interpretation. It's one of the rare times that I immediately wanted to rewatch an episode of any series, anime or not. The following episode was a pretty stupid dance episode with some underlying thematics about reincarnation but the unfunny humor & crude animation make it one of the worst episodes of the series & an extremely poor viewing experience. So, yeah, it's uneven but more often than not, I really liked it. Also, the dub is great & Viva Namida is one of the best OP's out there. XD Not that interested in Freezing (seems too ecchi for my tastes) but I never heard of Haganai. Might check that out. Started watching Gurren Lagann, and I have to say that I'm really enjoy it so far. What happened on the 8th episode took me by surprise since I didn't expect what did happen, to occur. Gurren Lagann is pretty good. Love Kamina & some of the episodes, like 8 & 15 are amazing. By the way, episode 15 is almost unparalleled in epic-ness. Most people prefer the finale though I believe, I wasn't huge on on the final part of the series myself.

Haven't watched anime in aaaaggggeeees. Used to be obsessed with the stuff.
I noticed Netflix (UK) added a good deal of stuff since I last checked.
Some classics that I had already seen (Death Note, Gurren Lagan and FMA off the top of my head) but i tried to check out something new.
I watched the first episode of Terror in Resonance which didn't really grip me. The characters felt a little flat and predictable so far. Reminded me slightly of Eden of the East, except, I was attached to both protagonists at the end of the pilot in that show. Seems to have good reviews though, is it worth sticking with? They gave away so little in the pilot that it's hard to judge where it's going.
I also checked out the first episode (and because I enjoyed it, I gave the second ep a watch too) of Psycho Pass. Thought this one was very good, and I enjoy noir-y crime thrillers a lot so it was much more up my alley. I also thought there was a lot of potential with the side cast, but I was particularly drawn to the female lead in this. Seemed like quite a relatable and complex character. It's more common in anime than other mediums, but still nice to see a female character as the lead. Any fans of this? Does it get better?
Edit: how did I miss the lupin news above?? Lol. Sounds exciting. Interesting they mention how big he is in Italy, as that's where I was first introduced to the franchise. Hope they can add some spice to the character whilst sticking to the original formula of the show. The thing I loved about the original series was just how many locations it took us to.

Not a fan of PP. Ghost Hunt was more my speed. Just finished the Shishio arc from Kenshin...the final battle with Shishio, Kenshin, Saitō, Aoshi and Sano is still one of the best scenes in anime.

I'm pretty jazzed over the new DBZ: Ressurection of F Trailer. Battle of Gods was such a good movie and DBZ remains to this day my favorite anime.

Sadly, I can't say if Terror in Resonance is worth sticking with since I haven't seen anything past the pilot either. Though, I actually really liked the pilot, just not as much as many other anime that I was keeping up with. That said, I can't disagree with you about the characters & predictably, I really liked the show mostly for it's direction & score (this is Watanabe & Kano after all). I liked the glimpses into the past. I've heard mixed things about the final product though so I haven't jumped back into it yet. Pyscho Pass sounds cool but I've yet to check it out. I've heard really, really great things about it though I've read some pretty negative things about it's second season. Likely because I believe the powerhouse behind the first season, Gen Urobuchi (he's also did Fate/Zero & Madoka Magica) isn't involved in the second season or takes a backseat. Just finished the Shishio arc from Kenshin...the final battle with Shishio, Kenshin, Saitō, Aoshi and Sano is still one of the best scenes in anime. +1. It's amazing how the Kyoto arc both begins & ends with two of the best battles in all of anime. I think I like the opening bout of Saito/Kenshin better but both are amazing. Kyoto arc is still the best shonen arc out there sans HxH. Really bummed the series is nothing but filler after that, even though some of the episodes/arcs were great/good, it's a shame that we still never saw the Jinchu arc animated (it's no Kyoto but it's still a great arc). I'm pretty jazzed over the new DBZ: Ressurection of F Trailer. Battle of Gods was such a good movie and DBZ remains to this day my favorite anime. SSJ Frieza looks so dumb lol but outside of that I'm really excited for the new movie. Love, love, loved Battle of Gods though & I'm hoping this one is even better. Best part of it is that it looks like Vegeta is going to be the one beating Frieza instead of Goku, something I approve 111%! Speaking of movies, I've finally been delving into some of Miyazaki films this month. I've seen Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind, Castle in the Sky & My Neighbor Totoro so far. Planning on checking out Kiki's Delivery Service in the next day or two. My favorite is so far Castle in the Sky, a real fun adventure flim with a great cast (I love those pirates so much). It also has Mark Hamill in it & I love hearing his Joker voice whenever I can. So, what's everyone's favorite Miyazaki film?

Toriyama did say in an interview a few years ago that he wanted to make a movie/manga where Vegeta was the "hero" so hopefully that's how it ends up. Unless I'm just imagining that interview.

Yeah he did. I think he mentioned it during an interview about Battle of Gods before it was released. I really hope he's gone through with it here because Vegeta defeating Frieza would be perfect on so many levels.

Although I really hope it's not a Goku letting Vegeta be the one to defeat Frieza, and instead Vegeta is the only one who can do it. Though let's be honest, we can't let Goku look weak so it'll be Goku lets Vegeta take him out or Goku just isn't available to fight.

I'm probably getting my hopes up too high but the third trailer really makes it look like Goku isn't able to defeat Frieza & Vegeta has to step in. Though there was that line in that BoG where Vegeta said something along the lines of, "Next time, I get to be Super Saiyan God". So maybe it's both with Goku letting him doing that instead of doing it again? I don't know, I hope it's not something lame like Goku lets Vegeta take him out though that's sadly a good possibility.

Aren't there like 3 different versions of Full Metal Alchemist? Two. There is Fullmetal Alchemist, and Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood. After the first few episodes, they are drastically different stories. Well worth the watch.

The only thing I haven't seen is the OVA's for Brotherhood. The specials are quite good, probably like them better than the movies. The one focusing on Mustang & Hughes is easily the best, in my opinion. Also, any Durarara fans here? For all those who care, crunchyroll started streaming the dub for the new season, Durarara!!x2. I'm a premium member of CR, so I don't know if the dub episode is available for everyone yet but it should definitely be in a few days if it isn't already. The kept everyone from the first season, minus the characters introduced in episode 25 (so, the Orihara twins & Shizuo's brother). That said, I don't think the first episode of the second season is very good.

Is anybody going to pick up the Castle of Cagliostro on Blu Ray? Discotek is putting out put and I believe it's already up for preorder on Amazon.
