So it came out on DVD yesterday, but it's been online for awhile. For those that have seen it, what did you think of it? It reminded me a lot of the 90's Marvel cartoons, which is a good thing. It wasn't a straight adaption of the Ultimates, which didn't bother me as much as I thought it would.
Anyone else see it yet?

I'm watching it right now, I have to say the animation is terrible. I don't like the Ultimate universe at all and so far I see no reason to like it. The voice acting is really bad, they should have sprung for a better Nick Fury and Bruce Banner at least.
No bueno!

Honestly, I didn't think it was that bad. And I saw a lot of comparisons to the 90's Marvel toons, which most people love.

Yeah, I haven't seen it yet, but I think a lot of people are just crapping on it because it's direct to DVD.

I had the entire series of Spiderman TAS on my laptop. I have bits and pieces of Fantastic Four and Iron Man on a compilation DVD. However, I adore the 1990s Marvel cartoons for their novelty value, not for their excellence within the medium of animation. By the by, I believe Batman TAS to be the best American cartoon thus far. Great stuff.

It's going to be on CN March 11th I believe. So if you can't find it online, or aren't sure about the DVD, just go the Cartoon Network route.

I actually really enjoyed the movie. I like that it told an adaptation of the first volume of Ultimates without being a straight translation. The voice acting could have been a little better, but short of signing Sam Jackson to play Fury they couldn't have got everybody right.

I always saw Fury as more of a Avery Brooks than a Sam Jackson (vocally, anyway).
I bought it and enjoyed it mostly. It DID remind me a lot of the 90s Marvel cartoon and I thank every God imaginable that they didnt go all "anime" on it. Some of the voices did royally suck, though. Cap was too high pitched and sounded far too young. And Thor didnt have quite enough presence for me. I also hated Cap's hair-just awful. Storywise, it had some slow parts and then ram-rodded right to the end. More action and less talking would have been nice-hopefully with origins out of the way, part 2 will be better (and Ultimate Black Panther HORRAY!. Just dont let Hudlin near it!).
But it was good for what it was. And it wasnt too "kiddie". I like that Cap wasnt nearly as much an bunghole as he is in Ultimates (seriously, I read that book just to see someone kick them around). And was it me, or did they try an awful lot to make Tony look somewhat like Tom Cruise?

I thought it was entertaining for what it was.I liked it better than some of the live-action Marvel movies we have got in the past.It held the interest of non-comic book eyes that were in the apartment as well.I think that is somewhat telling when I have friends who are glued to their seats watching an animiated comic book movie, who have no real reason to be that interested in it.I bought it for 12 bucks and I would say it was 12 dollars well spent. And this is coming from a "old-school" comic book reader. As in I do not buy any of the "ultimate" titles and have always been one to stay in the "regular" marvel universe. Also, I am glad I am not the only one who saw Tony as being very "Cruise-ish".........Honestly though I would rather see an animated knock off Tom play Iron Man than the genuine article ruin it ..........not a Cruise fan obviously....lol.
