The Miami Herald has a new interview online with TNA wrestler "Cowboy" James Storm. In the piece, Storm comments on his former America's Most Wanted tag team partner Chris Harris.
"Everybody thought that [Wildcat] Chris [Harris] would be the breakout star of the team," Storm said. "Nobody really knew what I could do because nobody's ever seen me as a singles' person. They've always seen me as a tag team person."
"I'm glad I can say I proved everybody wrong," Storm continued. "I wish [Chris] luck in whatever he does, but I'm here in TNA, and I'm glad I'm making a mark as a singles' wrestler now."
Storm goes on to talk about how his wrestling career has evolved and does some fun word association in the piece.

What i love is when AMW was still around EVERYONE bad mouthed Storm and said that Harris had a lot of potential if he could just ditch Storm,But look what happens when your gimmick is being a drunk.  |

What i love is when AMW was still around EVERYONE bad mouthed Storm and said that Harris had a lot of potential if he could just ditch Storm,But look what happens when your gimmick is being a drunk. That's always the case really. Harris was the main A.M.W guy alot and had alot pf potential and then when they split Harris lost that potential and Storm got it. Storm can make it as a singles guy unlike Harris who is more of a tag team guy. |

Fan reaction. They tried pushing James Storm, especially being the member in that king of the mountain match, but fans wouldn't have any of it. and then they gave him that crappy "i can't get no love/airtime gimmick" which totally buried him even further. Both are good wrestlers, but I think Storm is the better of the 2. He doesn't need a drunk gimmick. Just let him wrestle.

I think both men are quite talented. I enjoy both men in singles or as a tag team.
AMW in my opinion, ranks up there with the top tag teams of the post-2000 era.

Maybe people should stop making assumptions about which tag team members will be more successful...after all, they were wrong about the Rockers, the Hart Foundation, and the Hardy Boyz.
Yes, hard as it is to believe in retrospect, there used to be a time when people thought Jim Neidhart and Marty Janetty would go on to greater success than their partners.

Storm blows. Harris is still the better of the two. Other than Storm's matches with Harris, Storm hasn't had a good match yet. His matches with Rhino ing blew. Harris had great singles matches earlier in TNA with AJ Styles, Raven & Jeff Jarrett. |

I've liked Storm since he turned heel quite a long time ago, and have always liked him more than Chris Harris. Harris was never a big deal to me at all, I always saw him as the wrong guy for the spot he was given (as a singles wrestler.)

He is a generic wrestler with a flat personality... they slapped a white trenchcoat with flames on him to make up for the boredom he causes. James Storm hasn't had great matches because he's been forced into horrible feuds with Eric Young and Rhino... the latter feud resulted in a match destined to suck, Elevation X. James Storm has things that Chris Harris doesn't... personality, charisma, a gimmick, mic skills, heat... put him against anyone Chris Harris had a great match with and I'm sure it'll be better. James Storm is the total package and I hope TNA realizes that... |

Honestly, James Storm is a gem. The man is Nearly perfect on the mic, and puts on a hell of a show every time he gets in the ring.
Harris was really good, until he started wearing shorter, and shorter tights, and got fatter and fatter each week.

Yep, back on the weekly PPV's Harris had quite a few good matches,and at that point everyone thought TNA was gonna pull out the "jealous of his partner's success" card. Especially after Harris was put in the King Of The Mountain match.I also remember when WWE was interested in signing one of the two, everyone was all for getting rid of BOTH of them saying that they were both trash and that they needed to get off TV.Boy it's funny what a gimmick change can do.
