I wouldn't consider this to be classic TNA.

"Classic" to the sense that it's old? Nah...
... but "classic" as in TNA at it's finest? Absolutely.
The TNA creative team should really sit down and watch everything from 2004 and 2005 and build off of that. With these as your 4 TOP stars:
- Samoa Joe - Christopher Daniels - AJ Styles - Kurt Angle
Then your main eventers being:
- Chris Sabin - Alex Shelley - James Storm - Christian Cage - Kaz - Robert Roode - Tomko
Which would leave the X-Division mainly for the younger guys that broke into the business around 2004 and 2005 (some even 2006), with some of the more experienced guys:
- Jay Lethal - Elix Skipper - Eric Young - Homicide - Jimmy Rave - Johnny Devine - Petey Williams - Shark Boy - Sonjay Dutt
... with Petey going back to the "Canadian Destroyer" gimmick, managed by Scott D'Amore. No Team Canada, just D'Amore with Williams. Shelley turns heel and returns to the "Paparazzi" gimmick. Sabin goes back to just being Chris Sabin. Lethal drops the "Black Machismo" gimmick, Shark Boy drops the "Austin" gimmick and Curry Man loses a "loser leaves TNA match"... only for MONTHS later the return of the "Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels. Have Daniels cut more of those "I'm coming back, for bigger and better things". Only this time instead of having him come back for the X-Title, fued with Sting, reform Triple X, then leave. He returns and fueds for the TNA Championship.
- Triple S

All of those guys you named for the X-Division where in the wrestling business before 2004. Homicide has been wrestling since 1993. Lethal has been wrestling since 2001. Among others who have at least been wrestling for 6-7 years now.

He might've been referring to the "business of mainstream wrestling." Either way I think Triple S's layout of TNA is near perfect, and very similar to what I imagine it should be. Though I'd pair Kevin Nash with Alex Shelley. Nash would manage his matches and they can pull off some more christly backstage skits. Pair James Mitchell with Chris "Hail" Sabin and do some kinda evil Astroboy gimmick. Make Kaz the new "star" of the X-division... he's not ready for the main event. Keep LAX together, they are the stars of the tag division. Sharkboy needs a complete gimmick change because it makes TNA look second rate. If he can't handle a more "main stream" gimmick, fire him. Pair Eric Young with ODB in a storyline where ODB has a crush on Eric and Eric is too scared not to give in, hence becoming her manager.
