Would anyone be interested in a DC comics NO.438? It's a 100 page super spectacular and I'm guessing an annual? It's Dec 1973/Jan 1974. I'm not a DC fan at all and I'd glady trade it (I'd prefer it..) for some Marvel books. Great cover, tight spine, all the pages are here and no rips! I'm just seeing if there is any interest. I can get pics later if someone is really interested. Here is a pic of the cover, not mine, but just showing you the issue..

I thought 52 was pretty good. The "weekly" format didnt come across well. I think they wanted to give a sort of 24 vibe that was lost on me, but I like some of the clues they dropped that really answered some questions (though raised a few more)
-Booster changes the past to benefit himself, but in doing so, screwed up knowing said past (and ironically, also screwed up the moment he was hoping for anyway. Oh, Booster!). But that leads to wondering what would have happened if Booster had not used his knowledge of the past to find Brother Eye in the first place. Obviously, they still stopped the bad guys, but then the Trinity did not take a year off. Did Booster helping do good or harm?
-Aquaman is still alive, but he isnt the new kid running around. Hmmm.....interesting.
-If Elongated Man shot himself, wouldnt the bullet just bounce off the back of his mouth and shoot back out anyway?

I believe Elongated Man takes a magic potion to be able to stretch (gingold, I think), so maybe he stopped taking it? Of course, he's probably taken it so much that he doesn't need to anymore, ala Hank Pym and his Pym Particles.

Decent week....lets see if ASBAR really makes it this week. If I can even remember what happened last issue.
I'm noticing my Marvel pulls are less and less. Maybe Civil War will bring me back to some stories.

UGH no checkmate? what the hell DC seriously just because youre putting out 52 doesnt mean you can delay every OTHER comic. another pretty crappy week which is really dissappointing/annoying given how bad last week sucked. 52 week #2 annihilation nova #2 shadowpact #1 moon knight #2 simpsons #118 edit: i just realized checkmate 2 came out last week. i dunno where my mind was, but i forgot to pick it up and it wasnt on my pull list yet so ill get it this week. im gonna be even more annoyed if its sold out.

I picked up the hardcover Wolverine: Origins and Beginings today along with Wolverine Origin #1. I'll be getting Wolverine Origin #2 this week as well.

What bugged me about Origin is why does Wolverine need a sword? No matter what it can do, doesn't he have 6 unbreakable claws already? That and I have NO idea where this is taking place in continuity. I'm not a huge continuity whore, but I like to have a general concensus when something is taking place relative to everything else.

You probably won't get a sense of how Origins fits into continuity until it's all over, kind of like when Mark Millar did Wolverine or when Mark Millar did Marvel Knights Spider-Man. Wait, Millar isn't doing Origins, is he?

Oh, and he needs a sword because he's a short little bugger, and a 5-6 foot sword doubles his reach. Plus he looks cooler.

Hey, if you are trained in some sword arts, might as well use it evey once and a while.

No, Daniel Way is doing the Origins book.
It struck me as a bit redundant. Like Flash having a motorcycle. I think I'm more bugged by the combo of the outfit and sword. When I saw it on the first pages, it just didnt look right. Plain clothes and a sword or the X-Men outfit (and I REALLY hope they explain the reason for the old outfit.) but together it wasnt as visually appealing to me. Maybe it's Steve Dilon's art. It's a bit too "clean" for a gritty Wolverine book.

He sort of explains why he has the old gear in the end of the Origins and Endings arc: "I dug up some old 'aquaintances', got 'em to work up some new passports, visas, all the paper I needed. They won't hold up under thorough inspection, but they're good enough to get me through China. Dug up some of my old gear, too. All the blood that's about to spill, figured I needed a Change o' clothes." He then procedes back to China, recieves his sword from Muramasa, and then Wolverine: Origins starts.

Wasn't Wolvie trained as a samurai? Chances are, he knows his way around a sword.

Can you recap what it was that Logan found out in that storyline. I got the first issue of it, but never found anymore in my comic shop and gave up on the story. Sounds like Uncle Sam did some bad crapto Logan and I'm curious to what it was.

Although we do find out that Bucky Barnes killed his wife and unborn baby on a mission to capture Logan. I think they are going to explain everything what in the Origins story coming out now.

Good to know I haven't really.
