I've been thinking about how WCW and TNA share so many similarities in regards to their relationship with WWE. Though on a much smaller scale of course, TNA's major advances parallel with the advances made by WCW a decade or so earlier. Replace the Outsiders and Hulk Hogan with Christian Cage and Kurt Angle. Replace the spoilers about RAW given by Eric Bischoff on Nitro with the mud slinging and imitation gimmicks on Impact.
This all got me thinking about a parallel which has yet to, but could (and should) happen... four great-to-amazing WCW uppermidcarders left WCW in '99 due to WCW's political environment... leaving WCW to die while attempting to make a names for themselves on the big stage. They debuted by sitting front row on an episode of RAW and wreaked havoc in the weeks that followed... working together as a well-oiled technical machine. Fast forward 9 years later and you have the same political environment in TNA with a collection of amazing well-rounded technical guys just waiting to make real names for themselves...
So my question... which four TNA guys would you bring in to sit front row on an episode of RAW? Which four well-rounded wrestlers are being held down in TNA but could flourish in WWE if given the opportunity? Which four TNA wrestlers can break into WWE as a well-oiled machine and later become successful singles wrestlers?
My picks...
Samoa Joe. He is the Chris Benoit of the group... the champ that threw away a world title in order to fry bigger fish in WWE. I wouldn't make him much of a talker in WWE, much like his debut in TNA. When he talks, he loses his intimidation factor. Keep him as the silent bad ass of the group.
AJ Styles. Sort of like Eddie Guerrero, but he of all people should be motivated to move on to bigger and better things. He's accomplished everything he could in TNA... he has all the tools to overcome the "only big men can be successful in WWE" stigma.
Alex Shelley. The comedy and technical perfection of the group... maybe like a charismatic Dean Malenko with a brighter future. Like AJ, he doesn't need to be big to be successful in the mainstream... let him be the guy from Paparazzi productions and you got the next Chris Jericho on your hands.
Jay Lethal. I don't know how you could compare him to Perry Saturn but with top notch technical skills and some name value, he seems like a good fit as the fourth member.
I can just picture these four storming a RAW ring and brutalizing Triple H and John Cena without reason or mercy... I'd mark out like never before. Your opinions?

I really like the idea, just not the Jay Lethal part. I don't know who I would be put in his place, but he just doesn't fit to me.

But, but... he's the token black dude.

I honestly think that would be awesome, but like Saturn and Malenko, I think Shelley and Lethal would get lost among others in WWE, but Lethal and Shelley are younger than Dean and Perry were, so they are still getting better.

I'm not necessarily going to make direct person-to-person comparisons...but for me, it would have to be Joe, AJ, and the Guns. As long as WWE didn't with them too much.

Thats awesome. I really think Joe and AJ would do good in WWE. Of course I am waiting for the typical WWE won't push (Insert Name Here). That is what they said for CM Punk... OH Wait...

Aj Styles and Samoa Joe have made pretty big names for themselves in TNA, so I would remove those two from your list.
I'm thinking both of the MCMG guys, Shelly and Sabin.
Petey Williams, he's a great talent that gets overlooked.
It's really hard to pick four because their roster isn't very big, unlike WCW in the late 90's.

Id LOVE to see Robert Roode, Aj Styles, Joe , Chris Daniels. You know, I think Robert Roode could be potentially huge if WWE brought him in.

CM Punk was with TNA for less than a year, and quit because they wouldn't let him work for ROH on the side. Then he went to ROH for another 2 years and became one of their head trainers. I guess my bottom line is that most people think of Punk more as a ROH guy than a TNA guy.

He was a WCW guy, came in the 'E had some big matches and was the first undisputed Champion. What about Benoit, headlined the main event of WM20 and won the World title, even though he was a huge star in WCW. What about Monty Brown? Sure he wasn't main eventing but he was very new and was being pushed pretty good and I could have seen him being ECW Champ if he never left. Even Kazarian was getting a nice small push getting alot of wins on Velocity and Smackdown until he left.
