This is my personal opinion. I know people will disagree with me but, please read the whole thing before you do so. And lets keep it civil.
I was bored this morning so I decide to skim though some of the old wwf ppvs.I was amazed at how entertaining it was even though I knew the out come of the match. (when I mean old i mean from 1998-2002) The matches were great. The fans are really into the matches. Booing and cheering.
Nowadays if you watch smackdown or raw. The only real cheers you hear are from the veterans. Triple H, Undertaker, Hardys, HBK, and Jericho. I think WWE is trying play it safe. They want to make baby faces into superheroes.(obviously like Cena and Batista) And you can clearly see the disaster when they put a veteran in a match with them.
Also the heels aren't doing so great either. Randy Orton has a great look, but he is very plain. He also speaks like a robot. It's like telling a model to be an actor. Same thing with the other heels umaga, mark henry, khali, etc.... You don't care if they get their ass beat or not.
Their were only 6 titles back than not including the Light Heavyweight and one roster. The belts actually meant something. A mid carder winning the IC title was huge and had to be super over. Like the tag team titles. Without them Hardys and edge and christian would have gotten no where.
(no tag team titles = no ladder/tlc/tables match = no one cares who they are)
To close this up before this gets any longer. WWE has a lot of superstars we don't care about. They have also destroyed any value the title had. They fail at creating new superstars due to the fact they only get 2 hours a show + the lack of talent.

They have also destroyed any value the title had. They fail at creating new superstars due to the fact they only get 2 hours a show + the lack of talent. There is some truth here. The titles have become meaningless, especially the IC and Tag titles, part of this problem is the brand extension that waters down the title pool. Imagine how much better the IC division would be with Jericho, MVP, Matt Hardy, Carlito, Marella and a handful of others competing over that belt instead of splitting up the talent to compete over 2 belts. The same can be said for the WWE/WHC belts. The problem isn't necessarily that we don't care about the wrestlers, it's that there isn't a whole lot of motivating interest in their matches when there is very little on the line for us as fans to get behind.

What I think is wrong is the WWE pushing guys like Batista, a guy who no one cares for anymore. And not only that but we get the same guys in the main event, over and over again. Triple H, John Cena, Batista always main event there brand's matches and it gets annoying. I want to see young and newer guys like Ken Kennedy, MVP, CM Punk, Jeff Hardy, Matt Hardy and others get there time in. Also, how they always have Umaga or Kahli squash someone in a match, but they always lose a big feud with a guy like Triple H or Undertaker... After you see it a couple times, it gets old. NOw they have been doing it for 2 years.

Jesus, dude, you wrote that as though this was a novel concept that nobody had ever thought of before. In a nutshell, your "huge reason you think WWE sucks oh God I know people are gonna disagree and maybe even flame me but I'm ready for the heat" opinion is...
wait for it...
...
The writing sucks.
SOMEBODY GIVE THIS GUY A PRIZE! HE JUST FIGURED OUT THE MYSTERIES OF THE WORLD!

I dislike Orton as much as the next guy...but I'm going to have to point the blame for the "robotic" promos given by every superstar except the veterens on the roster to the fact that unscripted promos are not allowed anymore.
They've got to let these guys think on their feet.

seriously this is the reason people start fights on WF. Yes, you're right. That is the reason. Because there are people, such as yourself, who think that stuff like your original post here are concepts that aren't completely obvious. You didn't come up with an original thought. Anybody who says WWE is unwatchable these days says it for the same reason. The writing sucks and they don't make us care about any of the characters. That idea isn't something new.

They need to go back to the 2002 era brand extension, only have 1 World Champ, 1 Midcard Champ, 1 Tag Team, and 1 Women's that competed on all the shows.. That would help the title scene alot, in my opinion..

I don't know that it's unwatchable. It's definitely not what I grew up with. The ratings don't seem to reflect that people are tuning out en masse. Wrestling goes in cycles based on whether there's a hot angle/character going. Right now they don't have that. The reason why they push established guys like HHH, HBK, 'Taker, etc... is because they're established guys and they're safe.

I'd say the WWE is far from unwatchable these days, like really far from unwatchable. Last year was a great year product wise and it's continued this year. We've had feuds like MVP/Hardy, Batista/Taker, Cena/Orton, Hardy/Orton as well as a ton of great matches and PPV's.
Bearing in mind the suspensions and injuries the 'E' has had this past year or so, not to mention the Benoit tragedy, I'd say they've done remarkably well to deliver such a solid product week in week out pretty much.

I don't hate WWE right now, but I can't stand the RAW Main event scene. I don't hate John Cena, but I am tired of him. Randy Orton is really dull. I can't stand Triple H and all his egomaniacal ways. And now we get the blowhard JBL in the title scene as well? There are a lot of good performers on the shows, but the main event on the main show is as tired as it's ever been. And they undercut or bigfoot anyone who isn't in that group.
