Yeah, so it's almost double what my 12 comics cost me, but it's so beautiful! If any artist ever deserved the oversized treatment, it's Alex Ross. And then there's the sketchbook pieces, which are pieces of art themselves. So expensive, but so worth it.

Cos, what do you think of Friendly, Marvel Team Up and New Excalibur these days?

Friendly is getting a bit of a bitch feast duing the Uncle Ben thing these days, MTU is cancelled and most people still feel New Excalibur is pointless.

I like all three to be honest. While I hope the Uncle Ben plot will be wrapped up I'm happy to see how it goes, I'm not going to denounce PAD for this when it's just started.

MTU I saw coming. The sales are low and while good, isn't as good as it has been.

New Excalibur I love. It doesn't have a point but it's still chock full of Claremont goodness (I can't wait for him to go back) and it's a really fun book. It's not epic like the other X-Books have tried to be for a long time now. It's a real family/team book which Chris writes best. I love it.

MTU has seen, much, much better days. The art sucks and the book has really abandoned the "Team-Up" aspect to just let Kirkman do whatever the hell he wants with whatever Marvel characters he wants. MTU was better when superheroes teamed up and then became entangled in the plot from the previous issue.

New Excalibur is "eh." I read it because I love Nocturne and Juggernaut, and Claremont loves his continuity, as do I. I'm uncertain that I'll enjoy the book under Frank Tieri.

FNSM is good, and thankfully stars the "fun" Spider-Man we almost never see. Even during the Uncle Ben arc it was still fun. I'm very interested to see where that subplot leads. I'm very much looking forward to PAD writing some old-school Spidey vs. villain stories, which is what the issue that came out today appears to be.

I just picked Deadpool & Cable Volume three. It collects #13-18. And Amazing Spider-man volumes 5-7. They collect 498-508. I also picked up 501 and 502 in regular comic form the other day, because I didn't think i would pick up the book. Oh well, I like the stories.

Well, I had a nice surprise when I got to the comic store yesterday. My wife had gone by earlier in the day, paid for all of my weekly comics, and bought the Absolute Edition of Kingdom Come for me. Which is nice, because I wouldn't have bought it for myself. I can't wait to read it again. I guess I can sell my regular TPB of it now.

Or better yet, give it to a friend who has an interest in comics but never got into them for whatever reason. If they don't love Kingdom Come then there's something wrong with them.

Does anyone know the order Superman is going in now? I had been buying the issues from the mid 90s and the new ones don't have the triangle on them to keep you going in order for the year.

I'm not exactly sure what you mean by "order." The storylines don't crossover between titles anymore, so you just go by the issue number. Each title occurs pretty much at the same time, so you don't need to know if an arc in Superman takes place before or after an arc in Action Comics.

Yeah as I read them I figured that out. Tis a shame really. I like the issues from the 90s that run together (meaning Man of Steel, Superman, Adventures and Action Comics all continued the same basic storyline). While it's kind of cool that each has their own thing going on, I liked the very basic premise that they used to have.
