....in Australia. But still, pretty impressive.
TNA iMPACT Defeats WWE's RAW & SmackDown In Ratings 04/20/2008 by Steve Carrier
- Reader Ben Hosking sent the following:
In TNA's 2nd week on Australian TV, iMPACT out rated both WWE's RAW and SmackDown. It's also interesting to note that SmackDown beat RAW this week. Below are the numbers from the listing for the Top 100 Pay Television Programs:
28. TNA IMPACT 43,000 38. WWE SMACKDOWN! 38,000 44. WWE RAW 36,000

Eh, it's because it's new and all the Australian fans want to check it out. After it's settled for a while they won't care anymore and will go back to WWE.

Eh, it's because it's new and all the Australian fans want to check it out. After it's settled for a while they won't care anymore and will go back to WWE. It already happened. Although TNA did beat out WWE in the ratings in Australia the week before WrestleMania, for the next two weeks, TNA was far behind Raw and Smackdown. For the week ending 4/5, Smackdown was No. 22 in Pay TV with 106,000 viewers and Raw was No. 23 also with 106,000 For the week ending 4/12, Smackdown was No. 12 with 123,000 and Raw was No. 15 with 119,000 viewers. TNA was not in the top 50 either week (thanks to Andrew Milgate)wrestlingobserver

Pretty impresive to say the least. However, the United States ratings are mostly what matters.

Didn't TNA debut in Australia this week? That would explain a lot.

The only reason this matters is for the AU fans because they'll get a tour out of their high ratings.

Well, i think they may think awhile before touring Austrailia. When Jarrett was involved with Andrew Macmanus' WWA that toured Austrailia, and you see what happened to WWA. They tried to have a show in Las Vegas, but it failed miserably. Though personally, I would love to see a TNA PPV from Austrailia, it's be something new. Rumble Down Under or something heh..

Also take the following into consideration..
- There are more people in New York than in the whole of Australia. - Raw and Smackdown are on at 3:30pm, whereas TNA is on at 10pm.
I think they are doing amazing.

Didn't TNA debut in Australia this week? That would explain a lot. It started 3 weeks ago I believe, I have watched all three. Pretty good, its good seeing that its going well over here, I have enjoyed watching the Motor City Machine Guns
