I've seen this figure a few times, did Bret ever wear this in WCW? And if he did, why?

Looks a little tacky to me, he wore his singlet/tights combination and when not in singlet/tights he'd wear a hockey jersey.
Then again they ARE WCW.

although i haven't seen every single bret match, i'm pretty sure he never wore it
the figure was part of toybiz's "wacky" ideas to sell wcw figures. the series was called ring masters i think. it had bret as a hitman, goldberg as a construction worker, hollywood hogan as a director, chris jericho as a lion tamer and rick steiner with a gargoyle. predictably the line failed.

Nah he never wore anything like that. As stated, even when he wasn't in his gear he had some form of t-shirt/jean or hockey jersey/jean combination on. I would hate him if he ever came down in something like that.

It was a figure just based on his "Hitman" nickname. It's actually a pretty cool figure, and he looks like a badass 20's gangster.

Pretty much based a figure line off their nicknames and or gimmicks.... The line also included Lex Luger as an exacutioner... Pretty soft line. And no, Bret never wrestled or appered in that outfit.

I thought that figure was a custom RA one until I saw the hands.

But I can see the Geddy resemblence now that you mention it.

Didn't WWE make a similar pack with DX based on a magazine?

Didn't WWE make a similar pack with DX based on a magazine? yeah the wizeguys TTL 4-pack Jakks just randomly thought it would be a "neat idea". bringing LJNs back is another example. i hate random neat ideas. they should be more methodical and simply ask us fans what we want more often.

I also remember them releasing Goldberg as a construction worker in that set.
