According to an article on Merinews.com, The Great Khali has plans to open up a wrestling school for children in Mumbai, India. Khali will soon be heading home to India for the first time in almost two years, and according to his brother, will be staying there for at least one month.

Alright I'm just going to throw this out there before the poor guy gets raosted for this. The man is 7 foot 3 I don't know what you want from him as far as athelticism goes. If you guys are expecting him to take phenom bumps and run around the ring then you're idiots. He plays the big man roll to a T. You see some wreslters should wrestle in certain ways, and I strongly believe that Khali is good at playing that huge giant roll. Should he be in the main event? Certainly not, but I no problem seeing him in the mid card. To be frank I got to wonder whether Andre would be able to get over as well in todays wrestling world, the msytique of the big man has certainly diminshed. Although lets be honest Andre was a freak as for as his athelticism in comparison to his size goes.
As far as Khali's school goes, he's wrestled all around the world, as far was we know he might have a phenomenal knowledge of wrestling, it's nice to see him giving back in some form.

Just because he's opening one, doesn't mean he'll be running it.
Christ.

Im glad someone said it. Khali needs to be different. Big Show is the athletic giant as are Kane and Taker. Khali needs to be different and the whole power character and style is better suited to him. Sure he botches a few things but hey the guy's 7ft and he is learning, hes more improved than when he first came.

It is without a doubt harder to be an over wrestler now then it was 15-20 years ago. Back in the day if you were unique or you fit the idea of what a wrestler should look like you'd generally get a great push. I'm not sure guys like Ken Patera, Ultimate Warrior, Earthquake, OMG, etc. would get over. For alot of us it was more of "Man that guy is big (or jacked) and he's fighting for the right things I'm going to get behind him" or "That guy reminds me of alot of big mean guys who use their size to get what the want, I wish someone would beat him up." Of course wrestling in general was more simple time back then and I could write for pages how different of a game it is today. But for the most part there were no smarks back then, if you were told this guy is powerhouse, you believed it. In all honesty I've seen Warriors promos, I have no idea besides the fact that he wore cool outfits and he was jacked as to why I ever liked him, but I did.

I agree with what you have to say, BUT..... then you look at Big Show, 7' or 7'2" however tall he is, he plays a 'Big Guy' role, but he is an awesome athlete. I would say that Show and Umaga are the greatest big guys over 350lbs. So what I'm saying is that with Big Show setting the current standard as to how the big men should be, it's kind of hard to see that Khali is an alright big guy. And no, Andre would be booed to high hell if he were in wrestling today instead of the 80's.

Perfectly said, I've been saying this for quite sometime now. My only complaint with Khali, is his ring psychology is a little weak, he needs to have more expressions.
