Hey. I was just over on GeorgiaWrestlingHistory's website and saw this annoucement about NWA running an event in June in Atlanta.
"It is being advertised that the National Wrestling Alliance will present an event at Philips Arena in Atlanta, GA, on June 7. The event gets underway at 7:30 PM, and only Sid Vicious is being advertised at this time. Tickets will go on sale on May 3 at 10:00 AM ET, ranging from $17 to $52. More details will be forthcoming."
Does anyone know what this is about? I'm actually going to be in Atlanta that day so I was thinking about going it but I just wanted to see if anyone knew what it was.

It is most likely a tv taping for the NWA television show.

Tickets for the event range from $52 down to $17 and there is currently an online pre-sale using password ATLANTA. The show is being designed to launch a 14 month celebration of the National Wrestling Alliance's 60th anniversary. I am under the impression they will be curtailing the venue to fit their means, not opening the entire arena up.

Not to be off topic, but I wish NWA would have a stable wrestling location in Ohio, I mean Ohio is a big wrestling state.

I highly doubt they'll get a television deal with FSN, however, thay would be cool. They could probably get a television deal with a local station. Anyways, this should be cool to see. I wonder what they are going to do with Sid. |
