Apparently Hayes has reffered to the Great Khali and his manager (a guy who is also on the creative staff) in racist terms too. This is from a wrestling news site so take it with a grain of salt as always. This story is from the Wreslting Observer Newsletter -- Regarding Michael Hayes' relationship with Dave Kapoor a.k.a Ranjin Singh, while he'd often refer to him (and The Great Khali) with a racial slur when he wasn't around, he wasn't shy about doing it in his presence during booking meetings either. "The worst part is that Dave would be there to take the abuse and he was intimidated and almost paralyzed by the comments," one source said. "He'd try and smile to deflect, but you could see it impacted him. Hayes would also do a stereotype Indian dialect, mocking Dave, who doesn't have an Indian dialect at all." A number of people confirmed these stories on Hayes' using this terminology in reference to Kapoor, but it was split on whether it came off as bad as it reads. Some say it was clearly not said in a biting manner, and that Hayes was simply joking around. Additionally, Hayes' racials slurs towards people of Indian descent weren't only limited to Kapoor and The Great Khali. A few years ago, a professor from George Washington University by the name of Dr. Ranjan Chhibber worked on the creative team. Hayes routinely referred to him with a racial slur as well. There also is a story circulating of Henry giving a "He goes or I do" ultimatum. Now I know alot of stupid ass fans are going to be like "Yeah Hayes got rid of Henry" but like Mark Henry or not he should not be subjected to that type of behavior, he deserves the same amount of respect as every other man.

I’m not condoning it by any means, but it seems like the older generation are more comfortable using racist terms because back then it wasn’t deemed socially unacceptable like it is these days.

It's funny how Hayes has been with the company for over 12 years and just now these stories are coming out. I'm not defending him or his speculated actions, but don't you think if he was full blown racist and bigot as some of these reports claim, that there would have been some type of lawsuit by now? Not everything on the internet is true kiddies.

Not everything on the internet is true kiddies. I agree with that, it is indeed a bit suspect but Hayes hasn't been in such a place of power in all 12 years that might have somethign to do with it. It's sad but a racist statement coming from a mid level guy doesn't hold the same weight as a higher up guy in the company. |

yupp your right about grudges - if u see the WWE 24/7 Legends roundtable discussion about the monday night wars - the only guy who gave bischoff a really hard time was hayes - even JR, mick foley & king in comparison to hayes were gentlemen.

Dude.. hayes came from a time and place where really that wasn't such a big deal. I'm not excusing him, but at the same time from what most of the reports say, Henry, Lashley, and even D Lo brown all seem like they are just blowing a situation out of proportion. I feel bad for Henry cause he already isn't very good and is probably getting a lot of deserved heat from the boys as Hayes is very well liked in the back.

If Hayes was contributing anything useful or positive in the storylines, MAYBE it would be OK to let this slide. But the fact that he's clearly a terrible booker in addition to being a prick makes me wonder why he hasn't been fired already.

At this point, I can take or leave Hayes. Sure, he's a racist. He's also a SD writer...and last time I checked, SD was where minorities tend to flourish.

MVP is the only one that comes to mind. Khali, Henry, those two don't really count since they would probably be dominant regardless due to their size. Name me a minority honestly "flourishing" on Smackdown. I don't think Yang counts since the most he has had is a job and tag title shots as one of the only two regularly paired, face tag teams on Smackdown. |
