Dude when Michaels got jumped, and subsequently had to drop his IC belt. He was probably the most in shape wrestler in the WWF. Wasnt he jumped by a group of Marines? Just saying making it seem like it took all of them just to hurt Michaels is insane. I'm not dissing marines, but they aren't the human weapons the movies make them out to be. They're regular guys with training, hand to hand combat is not even heavily imparted on them. I know a few guys I went to school with in high school in the marines who I could probably still beat their ass, that's not to say most marines aren't tough but joining the marines doesn't make you a ninja. |

I'm guessing instead of retaliating and getting into a physical fight, which would probably bring legal trouble, Helms decided to have the police deal with it. He acted like a professional.

Regarding Helms, he did the right thing. Better to be an adult at the risk of being considered soft to people on a message board than to beat the guy's ass and possibly lose his job... just to be considered tough by people on message boards.
Call me crazy... I don't think Helms is losing any sleep that people here might call him a pansy for getting slapped and not smashing the guy in retaliation.
Regarding Michaels getting "jumped" in Syracuse... just because the WWF and Michaels blew the story out of proportion doesn't mean Michaels didn't get beat up by a bunch of guys at a bar. Remember the kind of guy Michaels was in 1995, by pretty much all accounts (including his own)... is it really that big of a stretch to think he hit on someone's girl and they decided to beat some of the arrogance out of him?
I also don't see why people assume "it took 10 guys" to beat up Michaels. I've witnessed my share of beatdowns at nightclubs...rest assured that it usually doesn't TAKE 10 guys to beat one man up, but that still doesn't stop some idiots from getting their kicks and punches in, just for fun.
It's really not that uncommon for a one-on-one bar fight to quickly become five or six on one, once a guy's drinking buddies decide to "help out." It's not like they all wait to see if their friend can take him, and jump in only if needed...

He probably layed charges because the slap could have made his neck injury worse.
