Looks neat, but it does address my concern for alternate attires. In this match, how out of place does Bret Hart looking being in 94/95 attire when its supposed to be Hart Foundation. I've heard rumors of alternate attires and for reasons of certain matches looking like they make sense I hope guys like Bret have a few different ones. It doesn't look right with him wrestling as Hart Foundation with mid 1994 attire. Otherwise, the game looks awesome. The arenas look great and this seems like a fun game. I am overly nastolgic when it comes to WWE so I'll have a ton of fun with this game regardless. your not kidding,i did point out this about bret hart a few pages back,he really needs alternate attires. iam also unhappy that out of the hundreds of great outfits bret had since 93,they picked the worst imo. thats was a plus point about legends of wrestling, they had an attire for each era of a wrestlers career. its also not much good havin hbk in rockers attire for the alternative (if true) if marty jannetty is not in the game.

MY view of the game so far:
I have held off playing the demo because I want to be suprised, but just by looks there is a lot of good.
The arena's look great and are accurate enough. Little things like the off designs on buckles and railings that don't belong there do bother me, but I'm a stickler for accuracy. The graphics look great and the moving of the wrestlers and moves looks very cool. I don't even mind the overexaggerated body-types because it kinds of adds some nastolgia from when I was a kid, thinking these guys looked like monsters.
I may get flamed for mentioning it again and thats okay, but to me the alternate attires thing is a big question mark and a potential big issue. With a new game like SvR, it's not as big of an issue because the game is based off roughly the last year and a half. its easy to get an attire in the game from the last year in a half and have that be at least passable for a current era game (even though sometimes they don't even do that because HBK in SvR 09 still had his Wrestlemania 25 attire for some f-cking reason).
With a game like this, I think items like alternate attires is a HUGE deal. Nastolgia is all about the appearance and look of the time, it really can make the experience authentic or false feeling. I know it has been reported that some guys have alternate attires, but I hope they put in enough to do a respectful covering of certain guys era's through WM.
For example, guys like HBK and Bret have been in ALOT of Wrestlemania's. They should at least have the attires from their four biggest WM matches to do a "passable" job of making it feel accurate.
HBK should have these four attires: WM12 (problably his biggest WM match), WM14 (to recreate Austin/HBK), WM10 (from the ladder match) and the Rockers attire from his first WM match (I think WM7 or 8). That would be a GOOD coverage of all eras. You can play pretty much any era of Wrestlemania as HBK and feel like it's pretty accurate and that the attire is at least very close to the time period you're trying to play in.
HBK is in his Wrestlemania 11 attire for some unbeknownst reason and not only that, but the attire is incorrect in about 4 or 5 different ways. I think it takes you out of the experience. It might just be me, but trying to do WM14 with HBK in some half-assed 1995 attire doesn't seem anywhere near "authentic." Ive heard he has at least one alternate attire so hopefully I'm wrong and they at least put in his WM12 or WM14 attire.
Same with Bret. Someone posted a tag match of LOD v. Hart Foundation. LOD looked from the appropriate era, the arena looked right, but Bret Hart was in his 1994-1995 attire. It just looked intellectually- disabled. How am I supposed to get in the mood for this match and feel like it's LOD v. Hart Foundation when the Bret Hart looks like he came from a time machine 4 or 5 years into the future. The same with the HHH v. Warrior match someone posted. HHH in in 1996 attire and Warrior looks like he's from 1991, it just looks stupid.
I know with all of the characters it would be daunting task to create a million different attires, but the BIG BIG names that have been in many Wrestlemania's should have 4 or 5 attires to respectfully cover their era's.
Undertaker is another one. I get this feeling with alot of wrestling games, but sometimes it feels like the creators don't even watch wrestling. I feel like they may have just chosen to watch a random WM and pick the attire from a match regardless of how big or important that era or match was for the wrestler.
It seems like an annoying little detail I'm harping over, but a nostalgia game is something that I think we'll all been begging for and these details to me are extra important. I don't understand how, for example, there can be a Wrestlemania 14 arena yet NO one is in their attire from Wrestlemania 14. Am I the only one that finds that silly? If I don't care about accuracy I can just go on SvR and wrestle HHH v. Undertaker in their 2008 attires and try to pretend its 1998 or something lol.
I may rent this game and check out the feel of it and see how it goes.

Ah yes, you got to love how the Hart Foundation's attire doesn't match all and yet LOD has an alternate despite their default attire being absolutely perfect.

Walter you may want to try the demo just to make sure the gameplay is for you. Because it's been hit or miss with many people it could put you off getting it all together.

I've actually been more or less put off since I've played the demo. I love everything else about this game except for the gameplay. I'll probably get it anyway, but I'm in no rush to.

Seems like an arcade game, like you find at bowling alleys. I'll be getting this game, once I play around with it, the gameplay will probably warm up to me.

They really should have, at least, made alt attires for people that appeared at multiple WMs (except for guys like Hogan, who's attire stayed the same.)
Ya know, like Shawn Michaels for example. He should have had three attires. One for Wrestlemania 11, on for Wrestlemania 12, and one for Wrestlemania 14.
That way we could re-create a lot more matches, with the accuracy of attires. Like someone said, it's odd have Warrior vs. HHH from WM12, with Warrior in that attire.

people keep going back to the fact that the gameplay is arcade in style, but reading the controls in gaming magazines it sounds more like an acclaim wrestling game.(a button for attack,a button and direction for grapple move)
the truth is i dont have a clue, and have not played the demo. i have pre-orderd it though. but my dread is just as even as my excitment at this stage

VADER AND MACHO MAN CONFIRMED AS UNLOCKABLE CHARACTERS IN THIS PIC!!!!: www.vt600.net/gallery/albums/Herby%B4s-Vlx/DSC01550.jpglolz jk. This is a pic from some German site, where a guy got the game early. The Vader is a (in-complete, yet pretty impressive) CAW...err...'CAL' and the one with the Macho pants is just a custom CAW he made. 66.196.80.202/babelfish/translate_url_content?.intl=us&lp=de_en&trurl=http%3a%2f%2fboard.wrestlinggames.de%2fshowthread.php%3fs%3d82b087e8b64588dae9fc1071d7336167%26t%3d27287There's a link to the thread I got the pic from. Also confirms there are CAL parts for the following: Randy Savage, Mankind, Demolition, Owen Hart, Tito Santana, Vader, Goldust, Doink. Plus more. He's also posted some pics of SvR guys in LOWM. Tazz and Undertaker are pictured. They look great. If and when I get this, I'll make some Tazz vs. Bam Bam matches for sure.

CAL looks to be the saving grace of this game, I'm delighted to hear that it takes nowhere near the amount of time needed to play career mode in order to get decent stats. Hopefully, there will be some entrances and moves to go along with all of these awesome CAL parts This was also on the second page: Looks like GamingRing was somewhat right, with 41 wrestlers in SVR '09 still employed by WWE that leaves 4 other guys depending on whether or not the fictional guys are included. Ric Flair Boogeyman If the fictional guys aren't included, we'll get these ers: Hardcore Holly Snitsky

Looking at the guy who got the game early, he says 45 Superstars are able to be imported into LEGENDS. Meaning, not ALL superstars can be.......

Checking here to see if theres been any further updates, so have they revealed any mystery characters yet? I saw a few pages back. The rumble looks incredible, i hope SVR gets an overhaul like that, with this game THQ are creating a lot of expectations for themselves. I read on the IGN boards that someone already has the game and he pretty much said there was "no hidden wrestlers" in the game which would pretty much confirm what most have been thinking. Besides if there were "hidden wrestlers" i'm positive we would of heard something long by now. It does seem odd that in this day in age, we havent received any info regarding it. Anyway, its disappointing to hear there are none but hopefully DLC will deliver. Cheers for the info.
