Bah, why do they have to have this simplified old-school gimmick gameplay? It seems like you have to chain moves together all the time which is stupid, not being able to control throwing someone through a table, and no damage/stamina sucks. Just give me DOR gameplay with old school wrestlers.

Sounds like Legends of Wrestling: SHOWDOWN to and incredible extent. Cartoony characters, put 'em through a table with a mystery move, simple controls that don't always work, a stupid  ing Career type mode, etc. Its a damn good thing I don't care about these games anymore, because I'd be upset. |

I now have lower expectations for this game after reading that article. It's good because I won't be disappointed since I'm expecting mediocrity.

I guess it's safe to assume King and JR are commentators for some of the game. Look at the screenshot of Austin at the WMXV arena where he's holding his wrist. 1999 era Jerry Lawler is at the booth!
EDIT: Hadn't read the text completely at time of posting, I now see they commentate the entire game? That's kinda lame.
I still have some hope though. I just don't have my hopes elevated too much, because this IS THQ.

My concerns are now reality I guess. This looks like its going to be pretty bad. I'm fine with simple controls but that just sounds stupid.
The models look pretty funny as well. Hogan has a little two much hair, The Rock is a bit too ripped and Austin is far too ripped. Andre looks alright though.
This does not look like its going to be a worthy 60 dollar purchase. If it wasn't for that whole nostalgia thing I wouldn't care about this at all. But I'm hoping its at least playable by the time it comes out.

Im sure this game will be fine for a rental or a cheap purchase. I wasnt expecting much so I am still kind of excited for this.

I'll probably still pick it up if the gameplay is at least fun. I still play the TNA game because I find the gameplay fun. And at least for me, I'm fine with the roster even if it is only like 35 because you can import SD vs. Raw guys. So I'd just rent that game and transfer some people over.

If he's behind it, Hogan only draws attention to his hair (or lack thereof) when he makes people change it.
After reading that preview, I love the sound of the "three R's" but am worried about the gameplay.

There appears to be many pros and cons regarding the early demo played of the game, but I trust that it will become a decent-at-worst final product.
The simple controls don't even bother me all that much, it's the ridiculous muscle definition and look of Hogan from the waist up that annoys me. Also, while I love the screenshot of The Rock with the Winged Eagle HC, it isn't accurate and I hope the little details are addressed before the game comes out.

We hear the final cast would be upwards of 80 or so superstars, but we can’t confirm nor deny that.

I like the exaggerated look, personally. We get the realism in Smackdown, having over the top graphics could be fun.
