It's funny how before Wrestlemania 20, everyone hated the ABA character and wanted him to be the Deadman again. Now that he is, everyone wants him to switch back.
I'd personally like to see his character somewhere in between. Back in '97 - '99 Taker still used the Deadman gimmick, but he still spoke, dressed normal, did talk show interviews, etc. The WWE just doesn't need to take his gimmick so seriously. He should make public appearances, do autograph signings and speak on the mic more the way he always did before 2004.

The best Undertaker was the one who stuffed his opponent in a bodybag and carried them to the back,1991-1994 was the best era!!

The ABA gimmick was so much better than the current version of the Deadman. I find him to be unbelievably boring now, because there's no depth to him at all. Every feud he has is the same, just with a different person.

you guys know that the ABA Undertaker was just a rip-off of the faction DOA More like DOA was an inferior prototype of the ABA. I have a soft spot for ABA/Deadman because it was just such an incredible character. Undertaker had the most freedom and let his mic skills and charisma shine. Ministry Taker is also a favorite, but the Taker that became my alltime favorite was with his circa '97 character.

what they should have done is combined biker taker with deadman taker being sorta like ghost rider minus the flames and skeleton body

I liked the biker the best. The deadman is very stale right now.

Or even way back on AFR and the likewise when Taker first became the biker people flipped out. My favorite Undertaker was probably when he wore the purple gloves. 1997/1998 Undertaker was also great since, like you said, while he was still no doubt the Deadman he had the ability to be more vocal.

i absolutely hated the underbiker. I didn't like "this is my yard" I'm going to put my foot up them boys ass" redneck talking. that stuff was ok for stone cold but for a person that was billed to be dead i don't get it. its like Spock trying to be a Klingon. oh highly illogical! Now the reason why this currant taker is boring is because hes basically a goth and not "a dead man". i mean whats with the eyeliner? dead people don't cross dress. The pale pancake ghoulish make up he use to wear added depth to the gimmick. it gave the gimmick intimidation. Another reason is taker has no "mission". when you compare him when he first came taker had goals, ending hulkamania, winning the title, disposing a fake, getting revenge on Yoko, the battles with mankind, getting betrayed by Paul bearer, destroying his brother Kane, taking over the wwe with followers the list goes on. Now he has nothing to do, no one to interacting with him and nothing to prove anymore. and the last thing that sealed the boringness of this currant taker... NO PAUL BEARER! Come on regardless if they were at opposite sides those two where a pair and were very interesting to watch! i bet MOST of the people that say they liked underbiker better were the people who started watching wrestling at that time and have only this era to compare with that era and just don't understand the true undertaker.

I like the Deadman gimmick. As I do the Badass one. But if I have to pick one, I'll have to pick the Deadman one.

Apart from Ministry, ABA Taker rocked.
Todays Taker has become too predictable, wow he gets taken out by a heel, comes back and kicks his ass continuing his WM streak.

he gets stale to me regardless of which gimmick he has, but after 15+ years of the phenom/deadman, aba was a really nice change of pace for him. it was awesome to hear some of those promos he cut.

I've never been much of a fan of his American Bad Ass gimmick, to be honest with you.
My favorite, and what I think is the best, time of 'Taker's career was from 1997 when he won the WWF title for the second time at WM13 to just before his transformation into the evil, sinister leader of the Ministry of Darkness in 1999. Undertaker feuding with and aligning himself with Kane in 1998 was incredible, and one of the greatest feuds of the last 15 years or so.

Wow, sometimes I forget how many kids we have on this board, then I go and see poll results for this and it reminds me.
I will say, a lot of the kids on here don't remember just how cool the deadman gimmick use to be, the WWE has stopped writing anything interesting for him anymore so it's a bad comparison from todays deadman to the badass gimmick.

I loved the promos he cut when he was the American Badass and right now, I wish he can go back to that.
