Sad. I heard it was her decision, and it seems we will find out more tonight. Torrie gave a lot to the company over the past 8 years, and I will miss her. Torrie was my favorite Diva of all time, and I stopped watching WWE when she got injured back in November...and a few months ago I also sold all my figs. Looks like I predicted this one, unfortunately. I hope Torrie makes a visit in the future, and I am disappointed they didn't give her a sendoff after 8 years with the company.

Yeah because wwe told the fans if they didn't cheer for torrie then they would get tear gassed This just goes to show how classless wwe has become they told her they wouldn't fire her because of her back(and if they had used her in a non wrestling role they could have had her be a valet to someone they wanted to get over with the fans) but then they turn around and fire her. i for one would love to see her go to TNA and be a valet or replace so cal val ;D and IMO torrie did start to really step up her game near the end(Her matchs on smackdown with victoria were awesome) Too bring up a point no one else has mentioned. Don't you think there is a chance she asked for her release too heal her back more. That way she could stay at home and try and take it easy and maybe come back a few years later. She is probably in so much pain she doesn't want too travel in a managers role or public speeking. My guess is she just wants too stay at home rest and eat dunkin donuts. TOLD YOU!!!

Torrie gave a lot to the company over the past 8 years ... she did? As for not "giving her a send-off", she really did nothing of importance in the entire seven-or-so years she was with the company, nothing that warrants a "send-off" anyway. She was simply eye candy or arm candy during her entire WWE stay, that's hardly worth showing any video tributes or throwing any retirement ceremonies about.
