The final Seinfeld aired 10 years ago today. I love this show and can't believe 10 years has passed.

I can't believe everyone hated the finale as much as they did. I really thought it would grow on people with time, but it seems like people hate it even more now

Yeah I remember how much everyone hated it when it aired, now I talk to people who love the show, and they won't even talk about how it ended.

The ending was just so ridiculous and not realistic at all. When you consider the genius writing the show had during its tenure, the finale just seemed like such a copout. They wanted to find a way to have appearances by nearly every character they ever interacted with, which was stupid in itself, but the way they had them appear was even dumber. Like I said, for a show that paid such significant attention to detail, it was just stupid of the writers to assume that anyone would actually believe a trial would operate that way.
That's what pissed me off, personally. It was just such an uncreative way to end maybe the greatest sitcom of all time.

This stupid show brought us Curb your Enthusiasm, so good riddance and I miss Larry David

A friend of mine insists that once Susan died and George didn't even outwardly give a reaction, the show became a little too unrealistic. The plots after that kinda follow suit too - George becomes a genius through abstinence, Jerry and Kramer digging up the dead bird, stuff like that. I think the finale fit in with those far fetched episodes. I don't think it deserves all the flak it gets, though. Over the course of the series, I don't think alot of people realized that they're just terrible people. I was kinda hoping they'd get some comeuppance in the end, and they did. Yeah, it could've been done alot better, but at the very least, it was kinda satisfying for me. For argument's sake, how would you like it to have been done?

I think it would have been very difficult to write a series finale to such a show. No matter what they would have done, it would never live up to the hype. Puddy is just freaking awesome, but George was always my favorite

I was only 12 when the finale aired, so I didn't have a whole Seinfeld viewing history behind me. That being said, I liked it then and I like it now. I think the deleted scenes make it even funnier. Puddy and Peterman interacting just cracks me up every time.

For argument's sake, how would you like it to have been done? I'd just have it as a normal episode and then have the last scene them in the coffee shop talking about George's shirt buttons (that was one thing I liked about the finale). Admittedly if they had done that everyone would have hated it sans me most likely.

I got into the show like in the past 2 years, the show is awesome, I TiVo all the repeats that come on everyday and watch the show all the time. The ending did kind of suck, but we all got to see the Soup Nazi one last time.

The ending worked because the whole show had been done in the style of a Harold long form improvisation.
Each episode was like a Harold and the ending made sure that the series followed suit.

I've been watching since I can remember. My dad was and still is a huge fan, so that meant I watched it with him. Fantastic show, can't believe it's been 10 years.

Admittedly if they had done that everyone would have hated it sans me most likely. That would have at least been different. I hate how just about every sitcom's series finale has to do with moving or someone else getting married that winds up leading to just a highlights show. Doing a series finale is tough for that reason. There are very few finales that are actually good. With a sitcom like Seinfeld, having it end like just a normal day in their lives would have been an original idea. I hope that's how they end Scrubs, as a matter of fact. It's more important for dramas to have a concrete ending than it is for sitcoms.

I could never get into it. The very little of it I've seen was funny, but I could never bring myself to watch it consistently. I'm not even mildly interested in catching the repeats on the numerous channels that air it.

Didn't realize it till now.. I watched 3 episodes today so I guess that should count as commemoration
It is my favorite show ever for sure. I can't understand how someone could not like it. Two of my friends told me they hated it and I though to myself "why am I friends with you?"
