I must have missed something here. When did America become the moral standard? How sad is it that our top news stories revolve around Britney Spears and Amy Winehouse doing drugs and falling into a pit of despair when many other people who aren't famous have it much worse than the two of them? There is a reason so many people hate this country we reside in, and us being "morally standard" is not one of them.

Homosexuality will not weaken America in the long run, a failing government will. There is nothing morally unacceptable about gay marriage, it's just not the norm so most people fear it and resent it. That is humanity, people are afraid of what they do not understand. Many people cannot grasp why a man would love another man; many people just don't want to. It's this ignorance that will destroy a country, or at least my faith in humanity.

Tradition means nothing. Just because an act has been performed the same way for so long doesn't make it correct. Nor is it "correct" for a woman and a woman to be married because they are in the minority.

I actually disagree with you slappy, I am not gay in any shape or form, but you where not born gay, if you are gay you most certainly just turned out that way later on. Being gay is not actually a disability nor is it hereditary or congenital.

OK then can you tell me how one does become gay, I am not being a dick but I would like to know. I am not even kidding, I believe it is a choice that one makes, but actually do not know why one does become that way. I know for sure I was not born straight, and believe that when first born you are not really knowing what anything as far as relationships are.

I knew some gay people, and never asked them what made them gay, so slappy can you at least tell me? I did mean that you are not forced to be gay when born, and you are also not forced to be straight.

I didn't choose to be gay. I didn't choose to be harassed. I didn't choose not to have rights.

I knew I was gay when I liked this boy in my class and all the other boys liked girls. I knew I was different, but didn't know the word for it. One day in 8th grade these kids called this boy gay and kept making fun of him for being gay. I didn't know what that meant, so I looked it up. And sure enough, I found a word for what I was. And I figured that if he was getting harassed for being gay, then I wasn't going to tell anyone that I was. I didn't want to be harassed.

I could go on, but I won't.

How did they try and make you gay?

If someone doesn't know, they can ask or hit on you, but all you have to say is "I'm sorry, I'm straight." If they keep doing it, then tell them to off. But if it's only once, then nothing to worry about.

It's not like we all know each other or wear name tags that say "Hi. I'm (whoever). I'm gay."

So, it's not easy for us to tell. Guys can go up to girls and hit on them very easily. Not so easy for a gay guy to randomly go up to a guy and hit on him.

I've been hit on by gay guys before, it doesn't bother me, in fact it's kind of flattering.
