Ask for their release, ect.. basically leave the WWE, to clean their act up and not further deteriorate the trust WWE has in them.
Would their return to the WWE be with a clean slate or would it always be in the wwe log that "so and so" has "such and such" problems?

It'd be clean. They'd have to pass a drug test too come back though.
There would still be doubts I hope.
If Jeff Hardy ever wins the world title especially this year I'll be shocked. Personnally if they put it on him I hope he fails a drug test as champion.
How embearessing would it be too fire the world champion. Or even fire him right after he loses it. face it they aren't going to fire a huge name after a 3rd failure. It's been reported people backstage believe orton has failed somewhere between 3-5 and just got warnings.

I think it would depend on the situation. But if it ever happens I do know when the wrestlers return neither of em would ever have a change again at a major push if they are even let back at all. I think since steroids is such a controversial topic WWE may not rehire them just to look good as far as keeping policy strict.

If they quit to get help, and actually had proof theyd been helped, then theyd come back with a clean slate i suppose.

Theres no doubt in my mind that Regals problems are pain killers and it wouldnt surprise me at all if he in some way tried to get help. Hardy on the other hand is just a complete and total idiot. Within the next 3-5 years Jeff will be unemployed. He will NEVER have a clean slate

Regal's already done this, he was fired to get help back in 1998, and told come back when your clean, and he did in 2000
And my source is the McMahon DVD, where Regal tells us how great McMahon is, and that he had to fire him, but he did get him help when he fired him

Regal has been given a change years ago. He was gone for quite awhile. It really surprised me that he's on pain killers again (if that's what he's doing) since his schedule has definitely been lighter the last few years.

Coe Regal's using drugs to help him get by, and Jeff's using drugs to help him get high. (it rhymes )

Wasn't Jeff Hardy's first suspension way back before he left the WWE the first time? The way I remembered it was Jeff got suspended, left, did TNA and whatnot, came back, and then his suspension in March or whatever was still his second offense, despite having left the company and returned.

He did have drug issues back then, and I think may have been sent home, but this only counts since the Wellness plan went into effect. His first suspension was before Summerslam last year, I believe, he took 30 days off and said it was to rest, but it was actually a drug suspension. They didn't announce the suspensions all of the time then.

Within the next 3-5 years Jeff will be unemployed. He will NEVER have a clean slate So Hardy is an idiot but Regal isn't? How so? Because going by the complete assumption that Regals problems are pain killers. He is doing something that 90% of wrestlers have done. Its not like its a recreational drug, hes on them to try and help his body to help him perform for the fans. Jeff on the other hand is just a pill head. Do I condone either? NO, but at least Regals addiction is comming in somewhat of good faith. **Sits back and waits for all the lil Hardy marks to whine and cry***

If they were to just quit, they would fade into obscurity and the WWE would be just fine without them. I'm kinda doubting they'd be welcomed back if they ever wanted to return, but stranger things have happened.
I'm not trying to insult either guy, but how could it go any other way?
