Now, I am not calling Austin a bad worker, but it was clearly obvious that his work went down hill after the broken neck, which is fair in all seriousness, what I don't get is that the men went from using Texas Cloverleaf's, STF's and that Million Dollar Hold (which, to be fair was a gimmick finisher) to just throwing punches and kicks along with a few slams. Can't say I have watched alot of his early, early work maybe some Hollywood Blonde stuff but that's about it. What would you say what his last GREAT match?
For me it would have to be The Rock vs Austin at Wrestlemania 19.

how is the cobra a gimmick finisher? It could work like any other sleep, cutting off the blood supply to the brain.

I liked Rock vs. Austin from WM19 a bit better then there WM17 match. Austin vs. Child/wife killer from a SD show in 2001 was a great match too

Wrestlenmania 19 was the match I was on about, slight typo there. And by gimmick finisher I ment he only ever used it as "The Ring Master" apart from rare occasions.

I would say Wrestlenmania 17 or Wrestlenmania 19. He was great when he was worked with Dwayne Johnson (The Rock) in the ring.

He say that on UK tv few months ago, that he doesn't want to any one called him "The Rock" anymore because he won't return to wrestling for full time, in the future. And he wanted people called him Dwayne Johnson.

Funny, Angle entered his prime after he broke his neck. Austin's matches went downhill after he broke his. Part of me thinks Austin's new ring style and perhaps, laziness, led to that decline instead of the broken neck excuse. You can look at other wrestlers that have suffered similar injuries, like breaking their backs or whatever, and they're still as good as they were before. What's Austin's deal?
WMXIX wasn't bad. Let's just thank our lucky stars he didn't end it at WMX8. *shudder*

Come down to are houses and beat us down, until we start calling him by his real name? lol Anyway, I'd say Austin's last real good match, was his actual last match... vs. The Rock.... opps... I mean vs. Dwayne Johnson at WrestleMania 19.

What a pointless thread.
If it was , what was his last best match before the Rock match?, it would have to be against Kurt Angle at Summerslam/Unforgiven 2001.

Wait - you said that by the end of his career Austin was no longer having "good" matches because of his neck condition, yet his last good match was Wrestlemania 19 against The Rock?
