What bugs me the most, And worrys me the most about Mattel taking over in 2010 is one thing... and that's my JAKKS collection. I started buying Jakks figures again in March 2006 and since then have been buying full time. I must have 100 or so RA figures in my collection with a few DA's in there also.
Now in 2010, I'm 99 % certain Mattel will use a completley new mold for the figures and they will not fit in with out Jakks collection. I worked hard on my Jakks collection and spent alot of money on it. In 2010 when Mattel takes over, Everyone is going to have to re-build their collections with new style figures and out of scale ones that won't fit in with our current collections ( most likely). That's my biggest fear/worry.
If Mattel produces good figures like Jakks has ( I'm sure they will ), I'd have to re-start my collection. Where will my years of hard work in my Jakks collection go? In a box somewhere? If I would be collection Mattel's WWE line, I doubt I'd have my Jakks collection out too. This is my biggest problem.
In 2010, If I like the Mattel figures, I might collect. But right now, I just wish somehow they would keep the RA style. I don't want to have my Jakks collection set aside in 2010.

Who said you cant mix them? I mean, its not like its a commandment 'Thou shalt not mix Jakks and Mattel' And aslong as the scale is close... then does it matter?

My biggest fear is that their distribution will suck like it has for MOTU, JLU, DC Superheroes, Cars, etc, etc.

I agree... I am kinda worried that say when i'm older and may consider my collection they'd be worth pennies... As for the mold I can see it being totally different from Jakks also.

It would be great if they kept the CS line with the same scale...but from a marketing standpoint i don't think they will. They make more money if everyone has to re-buy the same characters.

I think it will be a new mold, but one that will fit in to most current collections. I think the newmold will look like DA's IMO. But like The King of Dread said, it isn't like you can't mix them.

I just hope they have as small a scale variation as possible, like with DA to RA, that should be fine, but I don't want to make them weird, like, well, its hard to explain.

Well they clearly wont be able to use the RA style and i don't expect them to. But if they have the same scale, t hat is the average fig is 7inches tall (not all figs are 7inches tall) then they will fit in with our collections.

I honestly don't think I will ever buy a figure when Mattel takes over, I barely buy any now. I really am only focusing on completing my Hasrbo, after that I think I may just be done totally.

My biggest fear is that their distribution will suck like it has for MOTU, JLU, DC Superheroes, Cars, etc, etc. Exactly. We're all going to have to order Mattel figures online, shopping for their product is like looking for a needle in a haystack.

Pretty grim posts! I think it will be fine, I mean its more than a year to go and give them time.....just like Jakks......it took them a few years to get to TTL line, so maybe the first year sucks, but after that, open your mind.

We can't accuse Mattel of anything. They will try their best, i love my collection and i will thus continue colelcting as i do. If mattel keep tna styel figures then ill worry. For now stay happy n lets jus pray n hope. Edit- Cant this thread be locked?

From what I hear Jaks will keep doing CS and start making TNA with the same moulds. Irealy hope so, and hopefuly the WWE guys will be roughly the same size.
