Wait, NWA is now a rivial? If their crap storylines keep going down the hole and their ratings get any worse then they will be.

Yeah WWE are dousch bags....Flair was the heart of NWA wrestling in the 80s...That was the best era of wrestling anyways...They used to pack football stadiums of ppl to watch shows....And Flair not being allowed to just accept an award from the NWA is just such a BS move on WWE part...That's just super sad.

That is just stupid on WWE's part. Flair made his career in NWA, not WWE, and they won even let him accept a damn award.

If Flair is that bothered by the award, he will still go to the hall of fame show.

Stupid move on the WWE's part. It's not like the NWA is taping this and releasing it on DVD. Ric Flair is more known for being a NWA-WCW guy then a WWE guy. Every great Flair moment in the past happened in the NWA. It's not like the NWA has a show every week going against Raw or SD. What harm would it do to the WWE, for one night to allow Ric Flair to do a speech for the company that made him who is he? None. WWE is just pushing their weight around when it's not needed.

I get it, but its not right. WWE could of put in a contract that the show could not be distributed on DVD, or at least Flair's part.

DVD doesn't matter, NWA would still be making money off of ticket sales because Flair is there. Which breaks down to this: NWA makes money off of a WWE contacted talent.
McMahon is a businessman, not the nice kid at school.

Eh, WWE has the right to do that. Sucky? Yeah. Smart business decision to have Flair's only Hall of Fame induction speech be for the WWE? Absolutely. It's pretty much all about namesame and bragging rights. WWE can now still say that Ric Flair's only Hall of Fame induction speech was for the WWE. - Triple S Smart business decision? What harm would this do to WWE? They wouldn't lose any money. No one is disputing their "right" to do this, it's just stupid.

Wow... that is just morbidly obese.
Seriously though, thats pretty f*cked up on Vince's part. Flair deserves every honor bestowed upon him.

Flair's last match and HOF induction were one of the biggest selling points of WM. As far as I'm concerned NWA is in the wrong here. They're not trying to pay tribute to Flair. They're just trying to capitalize on Flair's farewell and make some cash. That's how I see it.
And Flair's under an exclusive contract with WWE anyway. I can also see that as a legit reason not to let him go.

Whoever in the WWE Said he can't go, them. Vince McMahon? It's a shame. Don't even know why he is still contracted. Not like he wrestles anymore. Let him go to the ceremony, I say.

UPDATE ON 2008 NWA HALL OF FAME CEREMONY From Robert K. Trobich Ric Flair, part of the 2008 NWA Hall of Fame class, will unfortunately not be present to receive this honor on Saturday, June 7, 2008 at Philips Arena in Atlanta, GA. World Wrestling Entertainment, which has a contractual relationship with Flair, will not permit Flair to attend the ceremony. "I am deeply sorry that Ric will not be in Atlanta for the Hall of Fame ceremony", said NWA Executive Director Robert K. Trobich. "Ric was very honored to be recognized by the NWA and wanted to be in Atlanta to thank his fans. Unfortunately, the WWE refused to allow him to be there. It is truly a sad action on their part, as the main people injured by the WWE's seeming petulance is the wrestling fans. Nonetheless, Ric Flair was a legend in the NWA long before the WWE was anything other than a regional promotion in the northeast. As such, Ric will still be a member of the 2008 class. He has earned that honor, and we intend to bestow it upon him", said Trobich. The 2008 NWA Hall of Fame will commence on Saturday June 7, 2008 at the Philips Arena in Atlanta, GA. Tickets for this event are on sale at ticketmaster.com or the Philips Arena box office. Source - Main Page. Wow... that's pathetic. those in ers at World Wrestling in Entertainment. them, THEM!!!

All they're doing is trying to make a profit off of Flair's retirement. It's a bit disgusting to see you all just slam WWE for an intelligent business move. Vince didn't become a billionaire letting people walk over his business assets.
