^True.I played both demo but im getting NHL 09 because of the Be A Pro mode , otherwise I dont know which one I would have take.

I can't wait to get NHL 09. I'm getting a 360 today and this is a big reason why. Gameplay last year was awesome. Add the fact I'll be playing the Rangers goal song when I score at home to the BAP mode and you have an amazing experience.

2K9's graphics look like a Super Nintendo game.
I got NHL 2009 today...really an awesome game. I suck and still have to get used to the new controls, but this game is really amazing.

NHL 09 is probably the best hockey game I have ever played, and I just got it today.
and I thought NHL 08 was good, oh man, 09 is nearly perfect.

Best sports video game EVER. There are a few minor things they could have added, but overall I couldn't ask for much more.
I'm still not sure if I want to start a franchise or do "be a pro" mode. What are you guys doing?
For those of you who don't have the game, the "be a pro" mode is really awesome...especially if you start from the AHL as yourself and work your way up, but the only problem with that is you spend half the game on the bench watching the action...Not sure I could play 100+ games watching, but regardless, it is pretty bad ass.
I played a dynasty for 3 years in NHL '08, and had a ridiculous record each time and pretty much dominated...I thought I was the crapat this game, but after about 2 dozen online games, I have to say IT IS HARD TO GET USED TO (the aiming), but once you get the hang of it, it is really easy.
Not sure if we have enough guys but we should try to set up a league.

I can't comment on how game play is against the computer. I started a franchise on "pro (2 out of 4 difficulty) and was losing 2-0 until 10 minutes in the third, and then managed to get 3 goals and 2 empty neters, so I would assume on the 3 and 4 difficulty settings it would be realistic. So I'd assume it would be realistic. Its really tough to score online, but I think you just have to get adjusted to it. |

Anybody know if it's possible to have more than one "Be a Pro" mode going at once? I have mine set up but my bro wants to start one and every time we go to start a new Ba A Pro it has my name listed and I can't change it to make a new player.

This game is AMAZING. I've had a lot of fun playing it, especially online. You can take your goal songs and stuff and use them online. So far I am 6-1 online and ranked 270 something.

I really love random minor tweaks they made. They really went out of their way to improve some minor things:
1. Using your stick to poke the stick of the other player.
2. Shooting more shots wide.
3. Harder for the puck to get past defenders.
4. Harder to score on breakaways.
5. Dekes aren't as powerful.
I'm sure there are more, but this game is just so much more realistic. I really enjoyed 08 but that game holds nothing to this.
