With the Summerslam: The Complete Anthology coming out soon I was thinking what was your favorite SummerSlam? For me it has to be 1998 or 2000 that being said I never got to see the early 90`s SummerSlams. So whats your Favorite?
By the way The Anthology comes out August 5
Thanks!

Probably 2001, although any Summerslam from 1998-2002 is pretty solid.

1998 by far. Recall seeing it live and being stoked about Austin/Taker. Even at nine years old, I still remember watching this event.
I happen to agree with Flava Dave. Any SummerSlam that took place from 1998 to 2002 are considered to be excellent PPV's Since that's the case, it looks like Volume 3 will be worth seeing.

It's hard to say imo becuase there has been a lot of good Summerslam PPV's. My favourites are 1996, 1998, 2000 & 2004.

SUMMERSLAM 1992!!!!! Over 80'000 fans packed into wembley stadium - good lord that summerslam had a massive wrestlemania feel to it - the main event between hart & bulldog was one of the most finest summerslam matches ever!!!

Either SummerSlam 1996 or SummerSlam 1997.
The 1996 SummerSlam had the first Boiler Room Brawl between Undertaker and Mankind, so that's always something that sticks out on that PPV, and of course Yokozuna vs. Steve Austin in the Free For All before SS 96, when the rope "broke"
The 1997 SummerSlam was also great too... Mankind vs. Triple H in the steel cage match, Bret Hart vs. The Undertaker with Michaels as special referee...

Having recently watched Summerslam 1997 on tape, I'll go with this one for now (meaning, until I watch all of them in the box set).
Also, for nostalgia reasons, I'll always love watching Summerslam 1993, despite its lackluster card.

1997 all the way. Austin vs Owen, Steel Cage, and the ever so memorable Hart vs Taker Match. Twas a great show.

Summerslam 1990 - Harts vs Demolition, Perfect vs Tornado Summerslam 1991 - Perfect vs Bret, L.O.D vs Nasty's Summerslam 1997 - The Undertaker/Bret finish was one of the most creative finshes ever.
Summerslam 1998 probably had the finest array of matches of any of the Summerslam's though, not one match below 7/10 on the card.

I have a soft spot for SummerSlam 1990 because it was the first PPV I ever attended, after years of being an obsessive WWF fan.
I blew out my voice cheering during the Hart Foundation vs. Demolition 2/3 falls match. I almost had a coronary when the Road Warriors did their run-in!

I personally like 2004 and 1998 although Summerslam is usually a very good PPV every year.

1991
You had
British Bulldog & Kerry Von Erich & Ricky Steamboat VS. The Warlord & Hercules & Paul Roma w/Slick
IC TITLE MATCH: Bret "Hitman" Hart VS. Mr. Perfect
MILLION DOLLAR TITLE MATCH: Virgil VS. Ted DiBiase (finally)
JAILHOUSE MATCH: The Big Bossman VS. The Mountie w/Jimmy Hart (it was fun watching The Mountie loose and bitch and wine)
TAG TITLE STREET FIGHT: The Legion of Doom VS. The Nasty Boys
Irwin R. Shyster VS. Greg "The Hammer" Valentine
Hulk Hogan & The Ultimate Warrior VS. Sgt. Slaughter & Col. Mustafa & General Adnan with Sid Justice as the guest ref.
WEDDING: Randy Savage married Miss Elizabeth live
Randy Savage and Elizabeth had their reception ruined when Liz found a cobra in one of her gifts! The Undertaker knocked out Randy Savage as Jake The Snake Roberts taunted Elizabeth with the snake.. Sid Justice showed up with a chair and made the save, chasing Jake Roberts and Undertaker away.
I can honestly say every person involved in this PPV will be in the Hall of Fame minus Paul Roma.

I can't see Virgil, General Adnan, Warrior or Savage ever being in the HOF, the last 2 for obvious reasons
