I hated Dark Avengers #3. Didn't Mrs. Sentry get kidnapped in Secret Invasion? And yeah, I know Sentry has mental issues Bendis, but that doesn't mean you have to write him as a 12-year old. Especially when you didn't do that from the start of New Avengers.
GI Joe: Cobra was really good in my eyes. It's weird, I think the main book is the weakest of the 3.
Punisher is one of Marvel's best books. Tons of props to Remender (see also: Gigantic, featuring Eric Nguyen of Eternals on pencils).
All the X-books I caught this week: Wolverine - fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck; Uncanny - liked the cutting between the scenes, Fraction's bootylicious; X-Force is intense and they finally killed a character I think I've hated since elementary school; Young X-Men was a halfway decent end to the series; Wolverine: Origins I've been grabbing this arc because of Braithwaite and it hasn't let me down.
As the first Spidey arc I've read since Brand New Day, Character Assassination was good, but I don't know if I would've picked it up without JRJR.
. . . Did I even read any DC this week? Oh yeah! Outsiders! Metamorpho steals the show.

I started Kingdom Come today, and I'm already half way through. It's a great book, and I'm really enjoying it. The storyline is great.
Could it possibly be made into a movie?

Could it possibly be made into a movie? it could, but only after there are succesful origin movies for a lot of the characters - wonder woman, green lantern, etc. it's a complex story to not have some pre-character backing

I would say make single films, then make a Justice League movie. Kinda like Marvel is doing with the Avengers. Then have Kingdom Come as the sequel to Justice League. By the way, I finished Kingdom Come today. I loved the ending.

I'm currently reading (well, trying) to read League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, but it just isn't getting my attention. It's great an all, but I'm just not a fan of the old, 1800s stuff. I like more modern era comic books.

I like more modern era comic books. it is different reading, however worth it just for the appreciation of character and environmental depth. the first volume interested me much more than the second, and i'm yet to read the black dossier

Today I bought and read Wolverine: Weapon X #1 and Batman: Battle for the Cowl #2.
Wolverine, ugh. It's not a bad issue, but I just feel so 'been there, done that' about it. I don't know how many times I can read about Logan going back to Weapon X and not be utterly sick of it. I've certainly come close to that point. There's not really a standout moment in the entire issue either. I probably won't continue picking this up.
Battle for the Cowl, however, continues to be of great quality. Standout moments happening to two big characters, solid dialogue, and more Black Mask involvement make it a pretty good issue. Can't wait for three, and whatever tie-ins are still to come.

just finished up pride of baghdad by one of wf's favourites, brian k. vaughan. it's an absolutely amazing story based upon true events of the results of the bombings during operation iraqi freedom on baghdad's zoos, subsequently releasing the animals into the streets and wilderness of iraq. four lions escaped and this is the story that brian k. and niko henrichon decided to create of them. it's brilliant and has a lot of great art: i know this pic might be a bit big but hey, we're just about at the bottom of this page and i feel it presents the book's art quite well.

today i read wolverine: weapon x. i feel they're finally perhaps doing this right, but we'll have to see. the art has been good in it thus far and i like how it's the real logan, not censored for young x-men readers, slicing people's hands off. i marked out at the appearance of maverick, haven't read anything featuring him in a LONG time. i loved his series, have it nearly complete. i also read timestorm 2009-2099 #1. i loved it! a flashback to the 2099 series, the 2099 punisher jake gallows is thrown into our time while spider-man has been thrown into the future. apparently hulk 2099 went back too. definetly an interesting series! i read issue one of the cleaners. a different style book focussed on a man who works independantly as a crime scene/horror scene cleanup. he is extremely knowledgeable on human blood and sterility, so the cops apparently have a case they want his help in. looks to be an interesting four part series. and finally i read black terror issue 1, which albeit a bit confusing, is really a fantastic comic book similar to black summer or no hero. the art is fantastic, here's a peak: definetly check it out.
