read the daredevil/luke cage 'cage match' one shot...it had little direction and was overall pointless.

i'm on the last issue of 'sir edward grey, witchfinder: in the service of angels', a mignolaverse publication.
sir edward is a compelling protagonist, and the book feels very much in the time it is depicted (late 1870s). also, the 'return' of menmaan saa is fantastic, couldn't have had a better twist.

read avengers #1. i'm not a huge fan of this new artwork/apparently more child oriented writing for the main marvel universe, but the storyline was actually interesting and left me wanting the next issue. future hulk, cool idea! what'd everyone else think?

I really liked it. Pretty cool to see the Next Avengers featured. The artwork grew on me. It's not my favorite but it works more than it doesn't. Not a fan of how Bendis wrote Wolverine. I just can't picture Wolverine being a support system for Spider-Woman, but Bendis loves his Spider-Woman. Best part was Thor's reaction to Kang. Put a big smile on my face.

I love JRJr.'s art (Steve Rogers aside). Sad to say that it's the only thing I did like about the issue.

yea, i found wolverine's dialogue extremely out of place and unsuiting for the character. he's assumed that veteran wisdom status for spider-man and such before, but never has he let out quips as he battles alongside them.. pretty lame to see these characters cheesed up
i also hated how stark was written.

read spiderman 632, this shed arc continues to be interesting and i like the newly reformed lizard, free of connors. nice to see marvel trying to spice up their villains while still keeping them to their origins.

I only read the end of Diggle's run with Thunderbolts (which I loved) but Luke Cage leading Juggernaut, Ghost, and Moonstone (who grew on me from the Dark Avengers) captured me. And now that Songbird is back on the team, I'm thrilled to see where it goes. Don't like her new haircut, though.

Secret Avengers was good. yes it was quite good. i like how steve is being written as the stealthy leader. moon knight is a good addition to the team, and this whole snake crown/mars/nova thing is pretty damn intriguing...wonder if the crown is king cobra's old one? and what is nick fury's involvement? and what is the shadow council? cannot wait for the next one!

The use of Man-Thing in Thunderbolts is rad. Plus, the art on him was so good.

Okay, not what I'm reading, since I haven't picked it up. I'm trying to cut back on limited series, but I hear Avengers Prime is great. Anyone recommend it?

definetly pick it up. worth it for the dialogue between thor/stark/rogers alone. kind of a weird plot, has to do with asgard/thor's world and the fallout of the downfall of asgard.

Caught up on some comics I've been meaning to read and here are just some things on a couple of the bigger ones. Punisher Max 7, amazing I love Bullseye in this because he is the craziest ing person ever. Avengers 1, not bad, I realllllly don't like the art though also the Next Avengers thing seems cool. Secret Avengers 1, interesting can't wait to see where it goes. AMS 632, really good, I love this arc and I'm sad it ends with the next issue. Now to catch up on Second Coming and War of the Supermen.

not really a 'what i'm reading' thing but i bought the summer 2010 comic previews book from my lc dealer and came across numerous different interesting looking upcoming titles...so i thought i'd post some of the art that stood out to me. made me want one of these phones just for it.

Mignola's artwork makes me want to get into BPRD and/or Hellboy.
Can't wait for Shadowland.
Sweets looks really interesting.
So does The Light.
Invincible!

yea man, i'd really suggest checking some hellboy out. it's basically a given that you'd love it.
anyways, just finished reading red hood: the lost days and i must say it's quite good - filling in the blanks to jason's return from his death at the hands of the joker, and talia's involvement in his resuscitation, it's actually being done right...the fact jason was in that vegetative state, i dunno, i could picture it quite well and it had a haunting element to it.
