Finished Batman: Year One. Did not disappoint. I can finally check that off my list of Batman graphic novels to read.

currently reading the 'milkman murders' series, just finished #2.
it's a really interesting twist on the horror genre, but it's not really even a horror...without giving too much away, it's about a mother that has reached her end. her husband is a drunk and a woman beater, her kids dismiss and disrespect her. then, at the worst of it all, a strange figure appears in the door while she's home alone. it's a deranged milk man, who rapes her. this is the turning point.
check it out people! it's hard to find but worth it.

Currently reading "Star Trek: The Next Generation/Doctor Who - Assimilation Squared" crossover. Pretty good. Can't wait till the 27th for issue 2.

The whole blackest night saga and all the tie ins. I'm finding I am enjoying it more than I thought I would.

dark horse presents 13, baltimore: dr leskovar's remedy 1, and i'm now on issue 13 of preacher.
fair amount of comic digestion going on.
i also noticed there is a max payne series, and despite this being most likely a useless whoring of the name for money's sake, i think i'll pick it up as a long time fan of the max payne product.

Just finished up some of the new 52 trades, Batman Vol. 1 court of the owls, Justice League Vol. 1 origin, and Green Lantern Vol. 1 Sinestro.
All 3 were terrific reads with the best of the bunch being the batman story. Really interesting stuff and new reader friendly.

Finished all 6 of the Flashpoint TPB's. The Batman story is awesome...however, the Flash and Green Lantern titles were weak.
Got the final 3 Exiles Ultimate Collections...man, for alternate continuity marks like me, theynare great reads.

Finished Before Watchmen: Minutemen #1 yesterday. Not much to comment on so far, but it was still good. Will be reading Comedian #1 and Nite Owl #1 sometime this week as I catch up on the series.

Finished Brightest Day. Man was that a sucky, sucky series. I was actually into it until the least 2-3 issues. Then it just went right off the cliff into epic suckiness. Really, the Earth elemental is from Mars? Was Geo-force not available? And then the whole thing was just an environmentalist propaganda piece in the end.

Brightest Day was a complete mess, and DC hasn't really recovered since to me. Batman and a few others are awesome right now, but I don't understand WTF they are thinking these days.

I was on board with Brightest Day at first. I liked Deadman struggling with the fact that he was alive. I liked various characters being brought back to life so they could tie up loose ends. But then it took a gigantic left turn and fell straight off the cliff to the point where I was forcing myself to read the thing just to finish it.

The whole stuff with Hawkman and Swamp thing was just....WTF.
I was into it at first, but yeah, by the end I was skipping panels.

Yeah, it turned into a big cluster . Captain Boomerang was featured in the first book or two and I was ready for him to do something, but he didn't show up again until the very end where he played a very minor roll IMO. The whole thing was stupid. The only thing I've read recently that was stupider was the DC Universe Online comic. I'm a huge fan of the game so I figured I'd read the comic. Horrible. Just horrible. The continuity is just awful. J'onn loses his powers to Brainiac in one issue. The next issue he's fine. No explanation. One issue features Hal Jordan heroically losing his life and it's an event that inspires Guy Gardner to fight harder. The next issue Jordan is alive and well. No explanation is given. The entire series is that way. It almost falls into so bad it's good, but falls short even of that. I would not recommend it to anyone.

just finished #1 of edison rex: takes the classic hero/bad guy dynamic and adds a random twist when the bad guy succeeds in his mission to eliminate the hero from existence...and the fallout. love how they took a concept used a million times and broke it down to something new. i also, admittedly, usually hate this cartoonish broken down art, but for an odd reason it really works here. only thing is, you can only buy it digitially - from comixology. it's 99 cents and you get the pdf and cbr version, can't argue with that. i still wish i owned a print copy.
